Vega Hotel

very good hotel located at the beach woth a nice view over the sea (if you get a room at that side). Room quite spacious, clean and good furnished. but very warm, I was told that in wintertime (February) they have no AC. Staff was very kind and helpful.

I have bit left yet.. and I don’t want to. The service levels from the very polite staff are extraordinarily good. The buffet breakfast and lunch included in the room rate are fantastic. The free Prosecco for breakfast tops it off. Make sure you book a room with a balcony, it’s lovely to sit there for a few minutes each evening to see all the lights from the numerous beach clubs and restaurants all along the beach.

Not a 5* hotel. Sorry. Not good enough for the huge price we paid. Disappointing. The room was dirty, the carpet in the room was dirty, the carpet in the hallway was dirty, the bathroom was very outdated, the furniture in the room was very outdated, not enough room to put our clothes in the cupboard, the room was so small! The tv was broken (we had someone from reception ‘visiting’ us in the room 3 evenings in a row to try and fix the tv! The shower was terrible - we had to really be careful not to slip as it had a funny shape and you had to really watch your feet - and my husband hit his head on the shower door at the top (yes-it is so old that it has a bar at the top of the shower). So basically you had to look down at your feet so that you did not slip - and instead you would hit your head on that stupid bar at the top…!! For goodness sake … 2022 … 5* hotel??!!! The staff were lovely though- at breakfast/lunch - my two stars here are for for the staff. But the actual hotel - very disappointing. We will not return.

This was our 4th time at Vega. We’ve been as a couple a couple of times, with my mother in law, and this time with the kids. The first thing to say is that staying in Vega is just that - its all about the private beach and the pool - of you stroll out into Mamaia you find a slightly run down seaside resort that needs some inves**ent. The beach at Vega is lovely, slightly pebbly but nice. The sea is a long way from the hotel as they have extended the beach since we first stayed here but its still nice. Drinks service at your sun loungers is excellent. The beach can be quite windy but I like that in 35 degree heat! The pool is very deep and very nice, no problem getting sun loungers, and the pool side service of drinks and food is excellent. Breakfast and lunch is included in the room rate and is a hotel buffet which is average but enjoyable. The thing that makes the hotel is the staff - they are amazing. Reception, restaurant, and beach staff are really attentive and very friendly, you really feel at home here. The one downside, and why it doesn’t get 5 stars, is that the bedrooms are a little tired. We have stayed in suites and the standard premium rooms and they are all clean and nice but feel like they were last refurbished in the 90s. I can’t comment on dinner as we always get a cab to Constanta to eat out (20 mins taxi). Overall, we enjoy Vega and will keep coming back for the lovely setting and the amazing staff.

I have returned here for the fifth time mainly because of its location and service. This time we brought the kids with us (18, 17 and 11) who all enjoyed the stay. We were allowed to check in 2 hours earlier as the hotel wasn’t very busy. The reception staff were amazingly friendly throughout our stay. We couldn’t move the temperature on our air conditioner one day and they sent an engineer to look at it within 5 minutes. The rooms are nothing special (a little similar to a UK Premier Inn) but the pool and the restaurant are fabulous. The staff are all amazing and you feel really spoiled. Filip who was our waiter most days was so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. You can order drinks by the pool or on the beach all day long and they even made us drinks they didn’t have on the menu. Highly recommend this hotel.

How can be this a 5 star hotel? My husband and I stayed between 10 - 15 August. The rooms are so small with old furniture and old bathrooms. No special “touch” or design to welcome you as in any other 5 star hotels. The beach was enlarged with a sand full of shells and debris: - you can’t walk with bare feet. - you need to walk another 200 meters before reaching the sea. The chaise lounges were not big and mattresses were dirty. The cleaners did not check or forgot to supply the bathroom with toilet paper. The only positive review or feedback I can give is for the reception and restaurant staff: all of these people were very friendly, with great attitude and always ready to “serve” the customers. Breakfasts and lunches were very good. Note: For the same amount of money you can enjoy a real vacation in Punta Cana / Iberostar Grand Hotel and Spa ( all inclusive with huge variety of food and drinks with fine sand, blue / turquoise crystal water and wide beautiful clean beach)
