Shenandoah House

This guesthouse was perfect. The room and bathroom were extremely clean. There was tea,coffee and tv. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was great. Jim the host was so kind and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay here again.

Extremely welcoming host who couldn't do enough to make us feel at home following an 11th hour and 59th minute booking. Clean and comfortable throughout and with a lovely breakfast. Incredibly good value for money and would highly recommend Shenandoah House.

A comfortable, clean bed and breakfast. Close to a quiet beach, close to town centre. Room has everything I needed, owner very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast very good, nice sausages, nice coffee, choice of eggs. Room was very quiet apart from some background noise from the railway nearby. There is a Tesco nearby for snacks.

My Mum had travelled down from Nottingham on her own to spend a few days with family. From the moment she arrived she was welcomed with warmth and her room was bright and clean. Jim was the best host and took great care of my Mum Melissa during her stay, she especially enjoyed the breakfast chats before heading out for the day. We highly recommend Shenandoah house for location, cleanliness and the most welcoming staff!

Went to dreamland to watch human league. Stayed here on the top level. Bathroom was in an extended part and really was too small for a shower but I managed to squeeze in and use it. Other than that superb laid back friendly host / owner and very good breakfast. I would deffo stay again. I mentioned the Bathroom as that was the truth but for one night was not the end of the world.

A real little gem, Jim, the owner, is a mine of local information, parking is really easy and free! lovely clean room with comfy beds and nice linen, great toilet paper, not cheap!! and a wonderful breakfast. Beach is really close by and has some lovely bays and eateries, well worth a visit. Excellent for Dreamland concerts too! and dont believe the pictures of the dirty shower!! they are years old and its changed hands since then.

We have no complaints about this place the hosts made us welcomed the room we have no complaints about and we will stay here again and very friendly and helpful everything was clean and the breakfast was good even allowed to smoke in the garden

We originally booked this via *********** but had to reschedule the date due to an unexpected emergency. *********** wasn’t easy to use to reschedule BUT Jim, the owner was extremely accommodating and rearranged the date without any issues. Jim welcomed us and he was always happy to help with anything/any questions and ensured we had everything we needed. There is plenty of on street parking near the property and two spaces outside. It’s also easy to find and our room at the front had a sea view. The room was an en-suite and perfect for what we needed for a flying visit to the area. It was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities. Tea/coffee making facilities, a mini fridge and TV. Breakfast was buffet style and Jim was more than happy to cook fresh eggs for us in addition to other items available. Food was plentiful and Jim was always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed not just at breakfast but during our stay. We can HIGHLY recommend Shenandoah as it’s great value for you get and Jim’s friendly and approachable nature really made the stay, as he was always willing to go that extra mile for his guests - such a lovely bloke, who obviously works hard to please his guests. This guesthouse is also dog friendly which is a plus for those travelling with pets.

The host was very friendly and helpful. The room was a reasonable size, it was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was well-presented and plentiful. Good value for money. Close to the seafront but a fair walk to the town centre. The room was at the top of the building, under the roof, and so access to parts of the bedroom and, more especially, the bathroom was restricted by the sloping roof. I'm 6ft tall and bashed my head virtually every time I went into the bathroom.
