Hampton Inn Memphis-Walnut Grove/Baptist East

Great location. Service wasn’t the best! Several guest were complaining, but maybe just a bad day!

Our stay has been extraordinary. The hotel is in a great and safe location. Security patrols throughout the night. Mr. Michael, and Mr. Reinaldo Mayzck (Front Desk Manager) has made my family and I feel extremely welcome. The housekeeping staff makes everything clean and refreshed. I am one to critique almost everything, so when I say this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in, I am not exaggerating. Kudos to administration and their team.

I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel. I don't know how they are able to fly a Hampton flag and pass inspection. It's more like a Motel 6. We arrived at 1:30am and without even being asked our name or confirmation number, the front desk agent said since it was after midnight that our reservations were cancelled and we would have to try and rebook online and we wouldn't be guaranteed the same rates, etc. This was not what I wanted to hear after being on an airplane all day. I told her she didn't know what she was talking about and she kept arguing with me. I said here is my confirmation number and then she was like, "Oh, I see, you already checked in on-line so you are good to go!" um yes, this is what I was trying to say if you would've asked appropriate questions instead of just basically telling me I wasn't going to have a room. All I needed was a physical key. We got our keys and then she asked about our car and made it a point to say that cars get broken in to all of the time so just to keep an eye on it! So once that was all figured out, we went up to our room/s only to find out we had no towels and no remote and the bathroom totally smelled like ****. We had to keep our bathroom door shut our entire time. It was coming through the vents. Since it was so late and we had more than 1 room, I wasn't even going to try and ask for a different room at this point. We just wanted to get to sleep. We slept in the next morning after our late night. Breakfast is supposed to be from 6am-9am. We got downstairs at 8:40am and basically everything was out. The breakfast attendant was extremely rude when people were asking if she was going to replenish anything. We ended up going out for breakfast. Part of the reason I choose Hamptons is for the FREE HOT BREAKFAST!! Also our Heating/AC didn't work at all. There was a thermostat on the wall that didn't work, so we tried to do it on the actual unit - no luck. We had no hot water during our stay, just luke warm, the tub didn't drain so you stood in a foot of water by the end of your shower. The hotel is outdated, no fridge or microwaves in the rooms, rude staff, no vending or soda machines. I filled out the Hilton survey specifically asking for a call back and of course nobody has called yet to follow up on these issues. I heard other guests saying they didn't have hot water either. There are plenty of other choices out there to stay at. I wish I would've read the reviews before booking this hotel.

Stayed one night, and multiple cars were broken in to. Hotel is outdated, and not worth staying. Strongly suggest looking for another hotel. We learned from a staff member that break ins happen regularly.

I booked hotel for 2 nights but ended up staying 1 night due to the lack of attention this hotel has. I shared pics with the front desk staff and even sent pics to the the manager name Duvall along with calling corporate and I never received an apology or response from the hotel. As a Diamond member, I enjoy staying at MOST hiltons but this location was the worst in all of my experiences. Shower was not cleaned, sheets/covers were not changed out and had **** throughout, hotel is VERY DATED and is in need of a serious upgrade, hallway trash overflowing with trash, no fridge, no microwave, just truly an all around bad experience. The most irritating part about my hotel stay is that not one manager, including Duvall that I reached out to personally got back with me or showed any kind of sympathy for my experience. I ended up checking out and staying at the Hilton Garden inn in Olive Branch. 5 star recommended hotel. Rooms were very cleaned. This place needs an upgrade and customer service training. Note: the lady at the front desk was nice but wasn’t helpful to my situation.

My husband and I stayed there last week. Although our stay wasn't all that pleasant, Calvin and Danielle went above the call of duty. Calvin handled every request in timely manner. He was so sweet. There were a couple other married couples that was there also. We all appreciated Calvin's smile and kindness. This type of customer service can outshine a few inconveniences. We will be returning and recommending this property to the wives club that we are a part of. PLEASE make sure you tell Calvin that Mrs. Thomas says hello and good luck with everything. 

When I arrived, the duvet was soiled along the top so it was apparent it had not been changed. I requested a new one and never received it. The floors in the bathroom had dirt and old toilet paper pieces in each corner. But, I decided to overlook that. The next night, as I went to take a shower, I realized the hot water wasn't working. I was told by the front desk that the hot water was out throughout the hotel and didn't know why. This continued throughout the night and into the next morning. Even with all of these issues, I was still going to stay there the rest of the week because I am taking care of my father in a nearby hospital. But when I asked Asia at the front desk about the hot water issue, she was so rude and unapologetic that I decided to check out and go to the Marriott where it's clean, the staff is empathetic, and they have hot water.

I had an excellent stay with Hilton, the hotel was very clean. The management team deserves 5 stars! Thanks for a pleasant stay. I will definitely stay at this location again. The breakfast is totally awesome as well, a great perk i must say. Thank you again Hilton family

Damon and Calvin were amazing and very friendly. They were able to answer any questions we had and gave us plenty of good advice for exploring the city. I would recommend talking to them because they made the experience better
