The Redan Inn

I actually went on the 13th March 2022 as i was working in the area and what a gem i picked. I met the owners Dan and Toby who are both top lads, even played cards with Dan and my colleague until the early hours of our first night there, there's even a picture from that night of me, my colleague and a local all called Dan playing cards on The Redan Inn's instagram. I was a bit cheeky when i met Toby (who is an amazing chef) and i asked if he could make me and my colleague a meal that was not on the menu of his choice for the second to last night we were there and he did not disappointed! Soft shell shrimp and calamari for a starter and then beef ribs cooked in his smoker, it was an amazing meal and the fact it was cooked especially for us made it such an unforgettable experience. The staff were all amazing. Lisa who runs The Redan could not have been more helpful and made me feel so welcomed along with Martha who put up with us until the early hours most nights. 10/10 accommodation, service and food, what an amazing place to stay!

Awful tasting lager, the Amstel was flat and had a vinegary taste so tried Estrella and Morretti, not flat but same disgusting taste. Couldn't drink it so opted for a half of Thatchers. This didn't taste too bad but I am not a regular cider drinker. The landlady was told about the complaints and she tasted a bit of lager and stated she thought it was ok. I can only think she has inactive tastebuds or she was just trying to pretend. I have been to this pub for the last couple of months and the beer has never been great but has now declined so badly that I will not be wanting to return. The beer management obviously needs addressing as it cannot be good enough and up to an acceptable standard to give such a disgusting taste.

I was passing and called in. The pub looked very modern from the outside and this theme continued throughout, very clean and welcoming. All of the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I had the pizza offer (Pizza and a pint for £11.50) the pizza was homemade and the flavours was perfect on the palette. The burgers that was being served looked delicious too! I sat in the beautiful garden, which was spacious with plenty of seating and shelter if needed. Tucked away was a veg and fruit garden, something you don’t see often. The inn has so many features, when going to the ladies I noticed a little snug room and a wine storage area, just made the inn very interesting and inviting. I can’t wait to return to sample more of the menu! Definitely worth a two hour round trip.

Absolutely love this place. The room was incredible, the food was fantastic as was the service. The bed was so comfy, everything was really clean. Only slight problem was the walk in shower leaked through the screen onto the bathroom floor. The food in the pub was exceptionally good!

Cobwebs and dust in room, curtains hanging of tracks, carpet had not been cleaned, blanket on bed dirty and rubbish from previous occupant not removed from bathroom. A burst water main in morning meant no water available for a shower, which was clearly not the fault of the Redan Inn however I was not even offered bottled water to clean my teeth. I have not been contacted by the Inn to discuss the issues with the room which I find rather disappointing and I certainly was not given the opportunity to do so whilst I was staying, thankfully it was only for one night!

Stayed at the Redan whilst visiting Bath and Wells. Very friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble. Very well placed to visit both Bath and Wells, local bus service and park and ride. Would thoroughly recommend 👍

Beautiful Sunday roast, pork belly was exceptional and perfectly cooked roast potatoes. We had the beef aswell and puddings were delicious so glad we came. Staff did a really good job handling a particular unpleasant couple didn’t spoil our dinner

We stayed overnight here in May 2022 and, although we had a comfortable room and a good sleep were a little disappointed with some aspects. My husband is 5 foot 6 and we asked for a room that was not in the roof space due to limited headroom, this was not catered for. We knew in advance that we would need to leave early and had called up to ask what time breakfast was served, when we heard the time we decided that, if we ate as early as possible, we would be OK. However, when we got there we were told that breakfast would be an hour later than we were told. The staff did agree to leave some croissants available for us, which they did, they were tasty and much appreciated.

We stayed at this inn with rooms for two nights and were joined by our family and friends. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped and spacious, the food is well above average and we loved the ‘old signs’ themed decor. But what brings this inn up to a 5 star rating is the staff. We were welcomed by Ella and throughout our stay she was friendly, helpful and in fact nothing was too much trouble. India and Esther served us breakfast with efficiency and humour and Kirsty was calm, efficient and speedy serving us for dinner. Behind the scenes Toby ( and probably other chefs) were cooking some fantastic food and generally we felt well looked after and pampered. One small thing, some of our party would have loved some fruit or yoghurt for breakfast. Certainly we would return again if only for a pint of Hedge Monkey!
