The Moorings at Metung

Great distance from the pub and water. Right beside the moorings that lead to the pub. Has a pool, heated pool, spa. The mini bar prices weren’t over the top- $2 for a bottle of water I think Feels a bit dated but no real issue . Felt like a motel really

Brilliant place to stay. Indoor pool is fantastic as are the views of the Lake. Apar**ents are outstanding and situated right in the centre of town. Also loved using the tennis courts. We will be back!

This was a lovely place to stay overnight, or preferably for a longer stay. Quiet little village. You could walk easily to all eateries and other facilities at The Moorings. There is no restaurant or food available at The Moorings. Reception closes at 6pm and then other arrangements would need to be made. It is a beautifully set out complex. We did not have a water view, btu give we got in after dark and left early, this was not a problem. Our room had a small balcony with outdoor furniture facing the (not busy) main road. Great to be able to open the door if needed, but too cold and wet at this time of the year. Parking is a little tight, but at least available. Our room was spacious, super clean, smelt gorgeous and was luxurious. Lovely pillows, mattress and bed linen. Very comfortable bed. Updated bathroom, which was spacious and had all amenities. The Moorings use Appelles products and full range available. They smell divine. We walked two minutes away for dinner at Chef Chez Joe's. Had planned to go to the Metung Hotel, but the bistro was closed for a function. We could have had a meal in the bar area, but far too noisy to enjoy anything. Chef Chez Joe's is not the most aesthetically pleasing bistro, but the menu, food and service made up for this. It is a fusion Australian, Malaysian, middle eastern and possibly a bit of Italian. It appeared that the operators were a couple who variously cooked and waited tables depending on the type of food ordered. They were terrific. Food was excellent, we both had fish given the location and were not disappointed. Couldn't recommend this unassuming little restaurant more highly. Overall, will definitely return to Metung and The Moorings and spend some more time exploring the beautiful Lakes Entrance area.

Really pleasant, quiet, secluded and clean. Awesome spot and we'll definitely stay here again as we have family in the area. No complaints at all, pleasantly surprised at how well we slept and how comfortable we were.

You are guaranteed a comfortable stay at the Moorings at Metung. All rooms are super clean and exceptionally comfortable. The facilities are fantastic and management (Jim and Barb) are wonderful hosts. We were upgraded to a larger room at no extra cost. A wonderful spot for couples and families, and if you have a boat, a mooring spot is provided. Winter isn't the best time for outdoor activities, but if you're looking for a place to relax in luxury, you can't go wrong here. Always a pleasure to arrive and take in the gorgeous view of Bancroft Bay.

We enoyed our getaway to the Moorings. The room was excellent and the service provided upon check in was very friendly and helpful. The Moorings is perfectly located with easy access to shops, cafes and the Pub. Would definately stay they again!

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! accused us of LYING and made us feel it was our FAULT! When we have proof of our booking for 2 adults and 1 child. THEY allow the 3rd party to make the bookings for them and blame us for there mistakes then accused me of lying in front of my child who got so scared on how rude they spoke to me. Then instead of accomodating us they accused us of lying, told us it was our fault and denied us of our accomodation. See the pictures and tell us where we went wrong?

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apar**ent of the roadside of complex, but you never heard any of the traffic at night. The apar**ent was spacious and everything we needed for the 3 night stay. The service we got from the moment we walked into reception to the moment we checked out was excellent. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

I wish I had read some of the reviews from other unhappy guests instead of only reading the positive reviews. My booking was supposed to be for a 1-Bedroom Spa Suite, yet I was unknowingly allocated a Luxury Motel room. When I questioned this upon arrival, the lady at reception told me that it had nothing to do with her, "the system allocates the rooms". After a few minutes of disappointing conversation, she offered a refund but having driven over 5 hours to get to Metung, my husband and I were tired and didn't hold out much hope of finding alternative accommodation during peak period. The most disappointing thing was that there was absolutely no ownership taken for the mistake with the booking. All blame was placed solely on me, yet it was their "system", that changed the room type. Yes...the room we had was clean and comfortable, but it wasn't the room I had chosen. The Spa Suite I booked was supposed to be a "First floor apar**ent with balcony opposite Lake King, Separate kitchen and lounge/dining. King bed and wall mounted TV. Ensuite bathroom features large two person spa." The Luxury Motel room that was allocated was "Picture windows open to patio or balcony opposite Lake King. Queen bed and quality fittings." It was a ground floor room and the "picture window" was a sliding door and sliding flyscreen (not security door), facing a road with trees that totally obscured any water views. The wifi was so bad that I couldn't even send an email. Here's the response I received to my written in-room feedback: "Thank you for taking the time to complete our in-room feedback form. We are disappointed to read that you were unhappy with our website booking system and note your belief that it requires a total overhaul. Whilst our website links to the booking engine, you may not have noticed it opens in a web site, that booking engine is not part of our website. The online booking system, powered by an Australian company RMS has. 184,000 global users Completed 6 million online bookings per annum Active in 60 countries We do note that at the time of your booking there were no vacancies in your preferred category of accommodation and no vacancy could therefore be displayed. The pricing of your preferred category (Suite) is also at a much higher level than the motel category confirmed in your room selection. We wish you well and again, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback." Again, no ownership taken and yet there have been multiple unhappy guests who have had very similar experiences and left similar reviews. BEWARE!
