Hyatt Regency Mexico City Insurgentes

This hotel is fine overall. It's kind of the smaller side but very new, clean, and modern. Beds and pillows were comfortable, and the room has all the amenities. The staff were also excellent, and the service was definitely a highlight. Location-wise, it's a bit far from the more tourist areas like Roma but it has a Metrobus station right in front that will take you to the tourist areas. There are also plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, as well as a Sears depar**ent store. Nonetheless, there are some quirks that makes it impossible for me to give this hotel five stars. First was the thermostat in the room. If you want to adjust the AC, the temperature does not go higher than 22C (72F). That's fine if you like your room a little on the colder side, but I found it odd you can't go up to, say, 24C on the AC. The room was just a little too cold for us with the AC on for a long time. Additionally, the windows are definitely not 100% soundproof. Around 9-10PM, we could hear loud singing and music coming from the streets below and we were on the 7th floor. We could tolerate it, but it was definitely a bit annoying. The safe also wasn't working for us and there were no instructions on how to reset it. I suspect you would have had to call the front desk for them to send someone up to fix it, so we didn't bother. Finally, we wish the hotel would have provided bathrobes, given this is a Hyatt Regency brand after all. That was just a minor nitpick, but it would have been a nice thing to have.

They were so attentive, and so, so nice. The hotel is new and very clean, quiet, and safe. I'm a very light sleeper and nothing woke me up. I was in a suite so breakfast was included and tasty. We didn't do much in the direct neighborhood, but getting picked up by ubers and tour guides was easy. The bar has some great drinks. Overall everyone was just so nice, especially Antonio, who helped us throughout the trip.

I stayed here for 1 night and when booking I requested early check in. The Chivas soccer team was staying in this hotel the day I was checking in and early Check in was not accommodated. I was able to check in after 2pm (this was the best they could do). They allowed me to leave my luggage early in the day. When I was finally able to check in, I mentioned there may be a 3rd person staying, they said there would be an additional fee. Usually there isn’t and they said it couldn’t be waived. The 3rd person came up to the room but was expected to leave later in the day; the staff helped us with our luggage to the room. Less than 5 minutes after we got into the room, the front desk call the room and said that 3 people were in the room and only 2 were paid for. I communicated that the 3rd person would be leaving later in the afternoon. I was then told that I needed to let them know when the 3rd person left because they monitor who enters the building. An hour passed and I received another call from the front desk. At this point, it was 2x that I was contacted about the 3rd person in the room. My understanding is that people are allow to visit. I finally went down to the lobby and notified them that the 3rd person would end up staying and paid the extra fee of $30 for one night. I thought the excessive calls were unnecessary and truly made me uncomfortable. At that point the front desk receptionist communicated via his walkie talkie to someone that I had paid for the 3rd person. It felt as if I was being stalked. I will not be staying at this property again. The property itself is nice, beds could be more comfortable. We heard other guests complain about the noise level outside the hotel and lobby.

This Hotel is top tier in service, location and amenities. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasurable stay. Their Regency Club has amazing food offerings throughout the day and Some of the best cocktails as well. Beds are comfortable, spacious bathrooms and nice amenities. The staff really makes this experience one of a kind!

My friends and I first trip to MC and this hotel. It is a must visit. Recently opened and in nice condition. There were a few finishing touches from the opening that could be cleaned up, but great condition regardless. The staff is nice & helpful from the front desk, to restaurant/bar, and esp Rudolpho in the club. No worries drinking the ice and water on the property, although bottle water is widely available. The breakfast buffet is top notch. Many bar/restaurants to visit locally. Getting in and out of cars at the property is the only small downside, but you figure it out easily.

I was trying to use my earned Hyatt points to book and I was unable to get anyone on the phone to help. I was unable to book on line as I needed a room for 4 people and it wouldn’t allow me to. When I called the 800 customer service they said it “should be ok” to book on line for 3 people and upon check in let them know. So…when I checked in they said NO I would have to book another room!!! At one point they said just pay for one more person in the room. I said sure no problem. Then someone from the back comes around and said Nope you have to book another room. $1400 later of unexpected charges and the room wasn’t even ready for check in. The room was clean. Room service was mid. Only one staff member was super nice and continued to apologize for the upsetting check in. Thank you Edgar. I would not stay again. Overrated for the price.

I love this hotel! The hotel is brand new and so I’m going to go into a lot of detail to help you with some of the questions I had before I arrived. The Location: This hotel is not in a touristy area and we love it! It's safe and clean and everything you need is within a 5 minute walk. There is a grocery store across the street in the World Trade Center, along with so many restaurants - lots of American chain restaurants fortunately/unfortunately depending on your point of view. If you, like us, want actual Mexican food, this neighborhood is full of excellent little family owned restaurants. And if you want to get to the touristy areas, the bus will pick you up right outside the hotel and take you directly to the Reforma area with no transfers for approximately $0.35 USD! Can’t beat that deal. And the buses come so frequently that you don’t need to worry about a schedule. They arrive constantly. It’s so easy to get around Mexico City. As for the rooms, the beds are comfortable, the shower has great water pressure and it heats up quickly, and the views are gorgeous. Also, we are working remotely - we have been having virtual meetings and streaming live television broadcasts every day - and the internet has been very fast and has worked everywhere in the hotel, If you are a Globalist, while this brand new hotel has low occupancy, they are serving breakfast to Globalists in the main restaurant, which means we are being served a full breakfast buffet. This buffet is excellent with a rotating menu so you won’t get bored with the options. Every day they have had scrambled eggs, sausages, refried black beans, chilaquiles, a potato based dish, pancakes or waffles, fruit, yogurt, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, and various breads. They also have made-to-order options for omelettes, various Mexican dishes… Really anything you want. The service is fantastic. In the evening, in the Regency Club (which is available to all Globalists and anyone who pays for a “Club room”), they also have food that can easily fill you up enough to count as dinner. Every evening, we have been served salad, bread, cold cuts, cheeses, and desserts and there is a rotating menu with sandwiches, various pasta dishes, Mexican dishes, etc. The variety has expanded now that the hotel is getting busier, and the quality of everything we have eaten has been excellent. They also serve a wide variety of beverages, including complimentary beer and wine. The service is fantastic in the Regency Club as well. The Regency Club also has an absolutely phenomenal panoramic view including downtown Mexico City and the hills that include the “El Popo” volcano. El Popo sometimes burps up ash - which poses no danger to us in Mexico City - but we were lucky enough to see it happen from the Regency Club. The Regency Club has proven itself to be one of the coolest places in Mexico City. As for the rest of the amenities, I’ve included some pictures of the gym which has everything you need for a goo

Everyone here is amazing. From front desk (they helped me stash food from my cooking class for a few hours), the doorman all said hello, we LOVED all the waiters, and the hostess was just delightful. Even the women who scrubbed the entryway each day was great. But the big shout out was to Eduardo in the Regency Club, who helped us with THE most amazing dinner reservations. While this is not in the hipster neighborhood, it was a great location to get to see the greater city (major bus line is about 65 steps away/bikes around the corner). Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in the lower floors of a new hybrid hotel and luxury residential tower. Good modern design. There’s an upcoming sky bar and restaurant that are under construction which should add to the attractiveness of the property. Since it’s located in northern edge of the southern section of Mexico City the location is not the typical tourist spot but it’s in a safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants nearby.
