The Barn

Excellent overnight stay here. Room very comfortable and spotlessly clean as was ensuite. Lovely treats of chocolates and biscuits supplied with great selection of beverages. Breakfast very good too and very pleasant and helpful owners aswell. Will definitely return.

We stayed here due to attending a wedding in the local area. We can't rate the place highly enough. We arrived slightly earlier than the check in time but had spoke to the owners before hand who acknowledged this wouldn't be a problem. Once on arrival we were shown to our rooms and everything was explained to us. The rooms are immaculate with a lovely en suite bathroom with a rainfall shower. The beds were really comfy and the room had all the amenities we could of asked for . The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and the service from the owners at this time was fantastic. As mentioned on here before, there is only limited parking space, but nothing to cause any issues with ourselves or other guests during our stay. The owners are lovely and would definitely be booking again if we needed a stay in the area.

Beautifully decorated room, very comfy bed, lovely spotless bathroom with everything needed. Tea tray provided with a range of tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate and biscuits. Fantastic breakfast, very well served and presented. Easy parking. This is a perfect place to stay whether one night or more. Only a couple of miles from A1. A brilliant find!

Stayed here after a trip to The Great Yorkshire Show, after a long day of traveling and walking we were welcomed with a fresh pot of tea and shown to our room. The room itself was beautifully decorated with such a country and homely feel it was also super clean. The bed linen was super crispy and the bed was so comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the walk in shower was a bonus. There was no end of luxury extras in the room: slippers, sewing kit, shoe shine kit, toiletries, fridge, air conditioning. The tea tray was so well stocked had everything you could possibly need and more we were completely spoilt for choice. Breakfast was a pre order, which meant when we got over to the breakfast room there was no wait for our breakfast. The food was of such high quality and cooked to utter perfection we throughly enjoyed our breakfast. The breakfast area looked out to beautiful hanging baskets and plants which all added to the experience. Such a lovely place to stay and the owners are so friendly and helpful, we highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be choosing to stay here next time we are in the area. We booked this place as we had a wediing to attend in a nearby village. We booked two rooms as we had read the glowing reviews here on tripadvisor. when we arrived on the 1st day we pulled into the driveway to find that there was absolutely no where to park our cars. we tried to find somewhere to check in but we could not find anyone. My wife went into the convenience store next door to enquire and was told that our two rooms were available and that keys to the rooms were in the bedrooms. We enquired about parking and was told that the owners had gone into York for the day with some family members as it was one of their birthdays and the vehicles parked in the bays belonged to them. We were very disappointed and had to park on the main road. One of the reasons that we booked the Barn was the fact that it offered parking facilities. One of our rooms was fine as it was light and airey but our guests could not access the Wifi from this room. The second room was very dark and had a very strange smell. it also had a very noisy toilet. when the owners got back they did in fact move their vehicles but every time we went out and came back there seemed to always be a van parked across the driveway in so that we could not access the parking spots. The rooms were fairly comfortable and the breakfast was OK but the parking (or lack of) was a real issue for us.

The Barn offers exceptionally good accommodation, well decorated, comfortable beds and very clean. There are 4 rooms, ours room 2 was beautiful. Lovely and clean with a large shower room. The breakfasts were great with all hot food cooked to order. Would highly recommend The Barn.

We highly recommend the Barn in Monk Fryston. Spent two wonderful nights. The room was immaculate with such imaginative farm house warmth. The breakfast was delicious and the owners friendly and accommodating. Loved little Oscar the dog too. Donna and Douglas Bennett

Fantastic B&B…..Wonderful friendly owners with a lovely pot of Yorkshire tea as a welcome!! Beautiful building and lovely room with super comfy bed. Breakfast superb and plenty of choice. Nothing was too much trouble and with a great country pub within walking distance recommended for dinner (The Crown Inn) this really is the perfect place for a break.

This is a fantastic place. The accommodation is first class,; spotlessly clean, modern with facilities you'd find in a good hotel . The hosts are friendly ,incredibly hard working and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, including dropping us at the pub some 2 miles away. The breakfast , with a number of mouth watering choices, was fantastic. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending
