Hôtels proches de Daconur, Montevideo

As a Canadian traveler with large family, this boutique hotel in central Montevideo was one of the finest places I have stayed at. The front lobby staff (especially Laura) were incredibly helpful and English was very good. They are available on whatsapp to answer questions prior to your visit. The roof top breakfast dining was really great spread with hot meals. The location is generally safe and walking distance to the central commercial district. The famous Palacio Salvo and Plaza Independencia are a block away. Lots of eateries (Americano Cafe really good), pharmacies, laundry, and convenience stores. The history of revitilzation of this hotel reminded me of the incredible boutique hotels of Queen St W in Toronto (a bit like Drake Hotel with a more family feel). The rooms are not large as it is an older building conversion but offers a comfortable and clean upgrade.

Il s'agit d'un bel hotel de charme, situé à l'entrée du coeur historique de Montevideo, doté d'un ascenseur d'une autre époque. Le personnel est très sympathique, il est possible d'emprunter un adapteur pour la prise électrique ou de changer des devises. Les chambres sont propres, la salle de bain est rénovée. Il y a un beau balcon et un autre avec une belle vue au 6e étage. Le prix de la chambre est très abordable.

Right on a small square in the middle of the Old City, this gem makes you feel like you have gone back in time. It is old world glorious, unique, and well located. The room was large, and thoughtfully laid out with historical and thematic pieces. I had a 20's microphone and stand in mine. Very cool Breakfast was phenomenal, and a great start to each day. The best of all, was the staff. I lost my cell phone on my 2nd day, and AT&T did not allow me to activate my backup. Each of the staff (two gentleman and one gentlelady) took as a personal mission to ease the pain of such a loss on vacation. My basic Spanish helped in the stores, but all 3 had excellent English and more importantly a huge heart to help me out. What could have ruined my vacation, became a reminder of why I travel in the first place. To meet people and share experiences. There was no limit to what the staff tried to get me up and running with another phone, but also their cool and calm demeanor allowed me to stay in the right vacation mindset. Frankly they made the trip, and allowed me to continue with my plan on to Argentina. Danny

I stayed at this lovely hotel a number of times in April and May of this year 2023.This hotel is located in the heart of the Ciutad Vieja,the Old City, in Montevideo.The location is very convenient to the sights,attractions and restaurants of this part of the city.Check-in was handled speedily and the room I was given was clean and inviting.I want to pay tribute to the staff who were always friendly and helpful-Oscar,Francisco and Reuben...The ladies who operated the breakfast buffet were also friendly and welcoming....This is a lovely place to stay and a staff member is always available to assist with booking a taxi....I am happy to recommend this place and gladly give it 10 out of 10.

Bonne location, à Punta Carretas, à quelques blocs des ramblas et à quelques pas avec restaurants et places commerciales. Grandes chambres, avec très bons lits. Petit déjeuner moyen, avec quelques options. Le prix était très bon. Le contrôle en expérience n'était pas très bon, ils n'ont pas trouvé la réservation, qui a été faite directement ... À l'extraction, ils ont oublié que nous avions payé une garantie de 20% du séjour, et facturé le montant total, et devait le rembourser ... Sur toutes les très bonnes options dans Montevideo.

I stayed 3 nights in the so called double standard room. My room was on the 6th floor overlooking the street. I enjoyed my stay at Own Montevideo. The room had a nice modern setup with a plenty of storage space, switches/power outlets in all the right places, many lighting fixtures. I could open windows and get a fresh air. The A/C worked fine. Wi-Fi was fine as well. The bathroom was of a decent size, with the separation between the sink and the toilet/shower. There was a window next to the bathroom sink, with a plenty of light coming in. Everything was in decent shape and looked clean. I found the small shelf was missing in the shower but it didn’t bother me much. Noise level was average. Nothing super loud that bothered me. The breakfast was adequate, with friendly personnel. One thing to know is that you have to specifically ask for coffee/tea and it will be brought to you. Everyone from the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located. I walked to Pocitos/Montevideo sign and back. Everything is a short Uber ride away, with a plenty of Uber cars available. Uber ride to Buquebus terminal for direct ferry to BA at the morning took around 15 minutes. If you arrive at MVD airport without a lot of luggage, you can take DM1 bus at the front of the terminal (84 pesos as of November 2022), get off at the last stop and walk ahead for 2 minutes and you are right there at the hotel door. Very convenient. All in all, everything was good, as it seems like everything else in Montevideo. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and am giving it 5 stars review. I certainly recommend it.

I regularly visit Montevideo for academic business and Mercure Punta Carretas turned out to be the best accommodation I ever had in the Uruguayan capital. The location almost directly on the shore of the Rio de la Plata is very pleasant, there is a sea food restaurant open until late. The rooms of the Mercure are OK (nothing fancy but there is everything one needs), yet the quality of the stay is nonetheless outstanding. The breakfast buffet is delicious (homemade granola among other), there is a co-working space and a gym on the top floor. The gym is tiny, there is a complete set of dumbbells, a stationary bike and a yoga mat, all of quality but that's it. However, this is enough to throw in a good session while the view on the Plata is breathtaking. Last but not least, cheers to the friendly, helpful and absolutely trustworthy staff! Highly recommended.

The hotel is beautiful. As soon as you get inside you are greeted by the receptionists, who are extremely friendly and polite with everyone. As you get in the room, using your card, you can see the bathroom to the left and the TV and beds at the end of the hallway. Next to the bed, there's a small kitchen and a table, just in case you want to cook something there instead of going out. The cleaning crew wasn't very punctual, we never knew at what time they were coming to clean the room and they would always forget to restock the toilet paper or the towels but after a few complaints everything was solved and it never happened again. Apart from that, the rest of our experience staying there was amazing!

Très bien, pas de gros problème, en gros il y a des services, ou répond au standard des voyages d'affaires, la prochaine fois que vous habiterez encore ici, le recommande, il y a un grand shopping près de l'hôtel

Nous restons seulement une nuit et nous sommes confrontés à un hôtel moderne et confortable, dans une très bonne position pour connaître la zone de Buceo. La chambre très confortable, le petit-déjeuner buffet complet, varié et riche. L'attention du personnel très bonne aussi. Le Montevideo Shopping Center est situé près de l'hôtel et il y a plusieurs restaurants à manger dans la zone. Bien que la zone de l'hôtel n'ait pas beaucoup de mouvement, il se sentait sûr. Il reviendrait.
