Camelot by the Sea

THEY HAVE ROACHES, so much that we had to buy Roach Spray!!! We never felt comfortable during our stay!!! There was a leak in the master bathroom that caused the water to be shut off to the toilet. We had to rig it just so the toilet would flush, and the place wouldn't flood. The baseboards were dirty. There was hair in the bathrooms. The carpet was dusty. The bedroom (both) doors were sticking and had to be slammed to close. The indoor pool area was freezing. The doors were broken and could not close, and it exposed you to the outside elements, making it so that you couldn't enjoy the pool because it was cold. The closet doors, laundry room, and the master bedroom were misaligned and easy to come off track. The floor drains in the bottom of the lazy river are a danger to adults. When you have small children who cannot fit in the tubes provided, an adult has to walk with them, the drains can seriously injure someone's toe/feet even with water shoes on. Our previous stay was so much better and we will not be back.

The resort is good. Decent older building. Parking ON SITE ATTACHED up to the 10th floor. As noted I t’s a bit older but kept up ok. Each unit is individually owned and can be rented out, so depending on what unit you get, this can affect your stay. My review is merely on the property itself. They have an indoor “lazy river; however, having been here 3 times already, I’ve never seen the tubes for it. The indoor “jacuzzi/hot tub” is heated sporadically. It’s smaller, rectangular in shape. The indoor pool is also smaller, but a nice addition if inclement weather. The outdoor pool is small compared to the amount of units, but you are beach front… ocean right outside the complex. No street to cross… take the bridge over the dunes and you’re there on the soft sandy beach. That said, every unit is beachfront with ocean view… although lower floors may be obscured/obstructed due to vegetation/trees. The resort offers a kids water area... very small but nice…even has a water fountain/sprinkler like umbrella to play in. A smaller lawn area with 2 hammocks and about 40 chaise loungers. Surrounded by palm trees and a concession stand that has lite bites and alcohol. (Will need to check hours of operations as the prior time we came they were closed but it was 2nd week of October.) There is a restroom also on ground floor so if at beach or lounging in yard area, you have a place to go and not have to head up to your room. The attached parking garage is narrow and you will need to remember to honk or flash lights around each corner (as a courtesy) since other drivers may not remember it is two way traffic, and come around in middle of both lanes. But, going slow and steady, it is safe and convenient. Great for those who bring everything but the kitchen sink for their stay or if you have a family/kids. Easy to load and unload into your unit. Again though, it is only up to the 10th floor, so if you’re on floors 11-19(PH), you’ll have to lug stuff up on elevator. Elevators are ok, 2 on each end. However, when resort is busy you can have a wait time… sometimes 5 minutes or more to get service for this higher floors. Close to the boardwalk and grand strand. Can be busy at times. Especially doing Biker Weeks (mid May and first week of October) and Black Pearl bike weekend (Memorial Day weekend.) Overall this is a nice older place to stay.

My family and I stayed Mon through Friday and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was the perfect size for our family of four and the room was clean. My children really enjoyed the pools and my wife and I the hot tubs. The place in general was clean and I consistently saw the staff cleaning in various areas. This is a great location for a walk to some good restaurants and stores. I will definitely be booking here again.

Had a Family medical emergency They offered no refund or credit I have been a customer over 15 years I would recommend sleeping in a ditch before booking Camelot by the Sea They have zero compassion for loyal customers

Room clean, liked the set up for parking,some of the staff was friendly while others weren't liked the location enjoyed the bar, pools and hot tub liked having restaurants around us within walking distance definitely would stay again

Views of the ocean and beach access was great. But they drained the pool and did concrete work during our stay. Waking up to jack hammering and not being able to enjoy the pool area ruined a few days.

I stayed in a privately owned room, obtained on a vacation rental platform. My room accommodation was perfect, so my main critiques are about the resort itself. I stayed here almost 10 years ago and I have to say, it's not what it used to be. The main areas smell and don't appear to be cleaned too thoroughly. **** smoking is prevalent. The only good thing I can say about the resort is that it's directly on the beach. Oh, that's another thing. The rental price for beach loungers is ridiculous! Beach loungers are a stretch, too. More like broken down, rickety chairs that they charge an arm and a leg for. On my third night, I happened to be on my balcony when I saw two men taking said rental chairs from where they were "supposed" to be locked up for the day. Apparently, they weren't as secure as the attendant thought when he left for the day. The employee of the company that oversees the purchase/rental of the chairs is quite rude. The sign says the chairs are available at 9 but this isn't always the case. Again, standing on my balcony, I observed him texting on his phone when he should have been hard at work getting the chairs and umbrellas set up so the company could honor its availability at 9 a.m. Although the vacation rental I have stayed in for two years in a row, is wonderful, I will rethink returning because of the overall upkeep of the Camelot.

Have to roommates just called me so upset. Stated the room 1004 I think it was, is the dirtiest room they have ever been in. They had worked hard to save money to stay here because the pictures posted look really nice. That changed as they walked through the door. Holes in walls stains on carpet bathroom shower head came chest high and covered in grime. Place was just run down. Felt so sorry for friends. Owner of these rooms please go look at what this company is doing to your places. Your investments are waisted. I even sent a message to the owners manager association and have not got a response so it’s your investment that is going to take a hit sooner or later.

My family and I stayed in room 502. It started out bad. We arrived an hour early before check-in, they made us wait till exactly 4pm to check-in. It was the end of April so not like they were that busy. Finally got the code to get into our room and the code doesn't work. Ask housekeeping for help getting in. The code didn't work for them either. They have a master key but didn't even let us in while we waited for maintenance to come fix the code. So that was an additional 15 minutes after check-in before we even got in our room. Finally got settled in, the room was simple but nice enough. Took my shoes off and the floor was disgusting. It felt greasy and gritty. In less than 5 minutes of being barefoot my feet were black. I had to wear flip flops the entire stay because of how nasty the floors were. They never cleaned the room while we were there, never brought fresh towels, and never emptied the trash. Definitely would not recommend this hotel until they step up their game big time. It was a huge disappointment, I'd stayed there probably about 7-8 years ago but it has gone way downhill.
