Hotel Bajamar Centro

Loved the Bajamar, my first hotel in beautiful Nerja, and would definitely stay there again for the just-over-£500 that I paid in June 2023 (although I’m booked elsewhere this coming June - for £501!). I stayed in room 302, which had a balcony overlooking the street below, but more importantly the glorious mountains beyond. I could sit and gaze at them all day. My room was just down one flight of stairs from the rooftop pool, which was clean (and which I had to myself the one day I used it), and the views from up there are great. It was an easy stroll to anywhere from the Bajamar as far as I was concerned, although some might like to be nearer the beaches, especially if you’ve got little kids with you, or you just don’t want to walk anywhere. I think it took me 20 minutes to Burriana, but that was the furthest beach, and I was wearing flip-flops - and I can’t walk in flip-flops! Just across the road was a big supermarket and a pharmacy, and the Bajamar Cafe attached to and I think run by the hotel was buzzing every morning with local old folk, which is a good sign, and I went in there for a drop of fresh orange juice and coffee and warm baguettes with olive oil. The staff in there are lovely. All very basic, yes, but everything worked, including the aircon, and as long as I could get that view of the mountains again I’d stay there tomorrow!

This hotel is not 2 star. It’s 3 star. It’s a fantastic budget hotel that is immaculate. Lovely pool. Cafe adjoined for teas, coffees, snacks. Short walk into downtown Nerja. The staff are lovely too. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Air con in room, shower great. Nothing to fault it. A helpful addition would be a small fridge in the room for drinks. But can’t complain about the price or the quality of the rooms, hotel and staff. Amazing.

Overdue review on this lovely hotel in Nerja required I’ve stayed here on a number of occasions Spring summer and autumn always found it good to excellent value for money The place is spotless clean the staff are helpful and friendly all ways willing to help with any problems There is nice pool and terrace on the roof with Mountain View’s The on site cafeteria is always busy with locals also good value basic food Well sited for all of Nerja

Great hotel, the rooms & hotel are very clean with a rooftop pool nice cafe at the side serving good food for breakfast .A great base for visiting the area.The staff are really helpful deserves more than the 2 star rating.Any one visiting the area I would highly recommend it

Stayed here for 5 nights mid July and our stay was lovely. From check which was quick and efficient . Hotel is spotless and our room was very nice .We stayed on the 3rd floor and didn't here any outside noise.Room was cleaned everyday and room consisted of double bed, bathroom and balcony.Next to the hotel is a cafe open 6am to 2pm. Local bars and supermarkets a minute away. This hotel is 5-10 min walk to central Nerja . nice pool on top of hotel but we didn't use it.

Fantastic wee 2 star hotel. Very inexpensive but it has a roof top pool, the rooms have air conditioning and are cleaned each day. There’s also a cafe attached to the hotel where you can get breakfast. What makes this place is the staff. Anna on reception is fantastically friendly and helpful as are the rest of the girls. Fernando has the busy cafe working like clockwork. It’s in a quiet area of town but it’s an easy walk to the beach and the old town which has many bars and restaurants. Great value.

This was a return to this hotel for us, having first stayed here with friends when holidaying in 2019. The hotel is located north of the town centre near the junction of the Calle Castella Pérez and the Plaza de la Ermitta (the latter being a major thoroughfare). The hotel remains much the same; other than a new reception and admin area. This is a big improvement, since our previous visit, when we often had to call receptionists to attend to our needs. All operations now seem to be run from the new area. There was a receptionist on duty most times we passed. All receptionists spoke good English, were very polite, greeted us every time we passed, offered advice, and called taxis, etc. Our two rooms were on the first floor, but on our arrival only one room, with twin beds, was ready for occupation. We didn’t agree who’s room that would be. We dumped our bags and went out to walk around the town and take some lunch. Later when gaining access to the second room, we noted that this offered a double bed, so my Partner and I decided to take this room. Our room also, as a bonus, had a balcony with a small table and two seats, my Son’s room didn’t. The balcony was useful to dry the towels from the evening and afternoon showers, and thus be dry for the following morning’s showers. We did use the balcony occasionally to sit and relax with a drink. Our rooms were adequate, but there was no hot drink making kit, and no fridge for cooling drinking water. The flatscreen TV (remote control provded), was pretty hopeless and, apart from the news in English, the only other English speaking station was a French station that was broadcasting in English! The bed was comfortable and eventually I did find that the single full-width bolster pillow could be brought up to a suitable comfortable height with the softer of the two extra half-width pillows that were provided. A big plus was a very efficient air-conditioning unit, this was capable of cooling the room to 16C. We found that 20C (and 24C at night) was about right and the ‘quiet mode’ was very handy. The bathroom was adequate, but the door kept catching on the floor, and that was noisy thus disturbing the other (sleeping) partner. The shower was excellent and only once (in the very, very early morning) did it fail to produce hot water. Fresh towels were provided every day. The lift was used twice; once to get luggage up to the first floor when we arrived, and then back down again when we checked-out. We used the stairs on all other occasions. On check-out we were able to leave our baggage in a secure room (at no charge). What we did find was that the noise from the café, which was run as a concessionary was quite noisy from 06:00, but I ‘had a word’ with the café manageress on the first morning and they did try (successfully) to ‘keep-it-down’ from then on. Traffic and other noise from drunken walkers was occasional, but often didn’t finish untill about 02:00 and then restarted from 05:30.

Clean basic rooms ( which you don’t spend much time in). Friendly staff. Pool on the roof is very nice, only between 0 and 4 other people using it at same time whilst up there. Rooms cleaned and bedding done every day. Cafe below hotel nice and cheap. 5-10 mins walk to Nerja Square. The area around hotel is quiet. Supermarket across the road which is good for water, crisps, beer etc. room could do with a fridge to keep your water/ beer cool. Other than that it was a good stay.
