Atlantic Hotel Newquay

Everything is just perfect in this hotel, warm and cozy rooms, sauna and swimming pool, bar and restaurant. I especially like the location! Friendly staff, they immediately sent an apology message about the elevator not working)) but the staff helped with things upstairs) we are bikers, we travel everywhere in the world with one night stopover)))

We stayed for one night at the end of March. We had a good room, and lovely breakfast. We ate in the hotel in the evening where the girls seemed very over stretched. We waited for our booked table, we waited to be served a drink whilst we were waiting for our table. Once seated at our table, we waited again for someone to take our order. The order was placed only for one of the girls to come back and apologise that a chosen dish was not available. We waited again for our starter which was smoked mackerel pate, olives and salad leaves, and bread. On being given our starter, I was surprised to see only two olives. I didn’t question at the time as the girls had been working extremely hard and seemed stressed. On reflection, once home, I queried this starter but the manager stated it didn’t include olives. If you look at the starter menu today, it clearly does. Whilst this is a very trivial matter, I feel misled at the cost of £13.50 for this starter. We probably would not stay again.

Decided to book for a cheeky trip away with my husband over bank holiday weekend last minute. Chose the Atlantic Hotel as it had a spa, but to be honest we paid next to nothing so wasn’t expecting very much. We had a wonderful time and were very impressed by the building, the facilities, the staff and the food. On arrival our room wasn’t ready, however the lovely lady on reception made sure we were comfortable in the bar and got us a complimentary drink - which was a lovely touch we thought. We paid £15.50 extra for breakfast each and it was very much worth it..cereal, continental selection and a variety of cooked dishes on an all you can eat basis..the view from the dining room was lovely. The room was huge with a separate bath and shower, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge, large TV and balcony. Very clean. Wasn’t a sea view but was nice to look out over the town. Bed was so comfortable, we both slept really well. Was able to book in with the beauty therapist for a massage with less than a hours notice and it was absolutely wonderful, highly recommend using her if you can - the QR code to book is in reception and in your room. Pool is lovely and wasn’t busy. Knocking one point off as the jacuzzi was rubbish and steam room was out of order. Will definitely revisit in future, we’re not too far away so will be sure to pop down again when we’re in need of a little R&R.

We booked two nights and given he key to our room and directed to it. It was on the second floor and as we got to the first floor the 'handyman' offered to take our luggage up for us. We didn't need this but the life was not working so he offered. The room was not what we had paid for, we were expecting a sea view, so I called down to reception and it was changed. The room was a suite but there were no windows in the bedroom or bathroom but ti was pleasant enough. It was room 10. The bar man was new that day and went over and above to source a pot of tea from the bar as there was only coffee available. He was very personable, whilst remaining professionalism. The pool had one changing room and one shower. I didn't realise there was a key code until I got there so had togo back to the reception. I had treatments in the spa and the lady was excellent. The only issue was that the treament room was hot and needed a fan to keep cool, on a cold and blustery day in March! The pool was under the room and very hot. Despite this, we had a pleasant time, but wanted to raise the points in case theywoul affect other guests. The main complaint is that I was not able to find my boots when I arrived home. I sent 5 emails to the hotel to ask about them but had one response to say they would let Housekeeping know. Unfortuanately, three emails later over several days, and I am yet to get a response. Thankfully they have been located elsewhere.....a response either way would have been the right thing to do, rather than ignore me.

Parking isn’t the best. Spaces are incredibly tight (width and length) Would not have found a space if we brought our 4x4, and would have struggled just trying to drive through. Arrived on a busy bank holiday Friday afternoon to be met by two lovely staff at reception. Had a drink in the bar in the evening, and the staff have really made us want to come back. Freddie, Sky, Kako and another lady from the restaurant really kept us entertained, they are a credit to the hotel! View from the room was amazing (room 318). Fistral beach one side, Great Western beach on the other. 2 minute walk to the centre of Newquay, but feels like you are miles away when you’re in the hotel. Lovey high ceilinged room, but a few signs of damp around the top of the windows. The decoration throughout the rest of the hotel and the indoor pool was all lovely, very art deco

Sky and Annie couldn’t do enough for us, they had excellent customer service skills and sorted any issues out we had, we would definitely recommend coming to this hotel just for the way they made us feel, the both of them was very friendly and welcoming which is hard to come by these days

We only stayed at this hotel for one night, however we will return for a longer stay, hotel is beautiful and clean, we had a superior room with sea view and it was huge, warm, clean and well equipped. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend.

beautifull hotel, amazing facilities, quality brakfast, ...220 pounds a dbl room, book in , get allocated a room...settle in to said room, then get told we have to move out of said room, without a by your leave,,,,no real explanation still......very poor customer service

Don't worry about any negative reviews! This is a simply stunning place to stay. Ambience, staff, rooms, pool, original art deco style all great. Clean, well equipped rooms , comfy beds, helpful staff made our short stay here everything we needed to stop for a couple of days. Lifts unfortunately not working but beautiful staircases were a pleasure to walk up. Great location and would return here with no hesitation whatsoever. Thank you all.
