St Bernards

Flew to Newquay from Manchester for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday. Couldn’t have chosen a better guest house. Paul and Chantelle are the perfect hosts. They’re attentive, friendly, welcoming and go out of their way to make you comfortable. The bedrooms are well equipped and perfectly clean. Breakfast was delicious, well cooked and plentiful and there is a lovely welcoming lounge. Very centrally located and perfect for all amenities you could do a lot worse than book this guest house. There is a fridge in your room, microwave facilities downstairs if you want to warm your takeaway and I even came back to my room to find flowers and a cupcake for my birthday which really touched me. I wish them well with their business. They understand that service is everything and they deserve to do well in this industry because their attention to detail is fabulous. Thank you so much!

What hospitality! We've tried elsewhere in Newquay but this guest house easily beats them all. It's probably one of the best places to stay in Cornwall. We've tried "corporate" in town and didn't enjoy being treated as just a couple more occupied beds listed on an accountant's spreadsheet for the quarter. Paul and Chantelle, the owners, told us they are relatively new to all this but somehow manage to add the human touch and lots of little extras that make St Bernard's unique. Prices are very reasonable, breakfasts are excellent, cleanliness and forethought are apparent throughout and there's even guest vehicle parking (chargeable but not excessive) within a hundred yards or so. Excellent!

Really lovely B&B great communication throughout the booking. Friendly and professional owners who really welcome you. The B&B is in the best location. Really accommodating for our 3 month old. Allowing us to leave the pram in the hall and providing us with a cot. There is a communal space with films big TV. Tables. Even plates and cutlery near a microwave in case you have a take away! The breakfast room is beautifully decorated. Great selection of food. Breakfast is pre ordered the night before, before 9pm. Food ranged from continental, fruit, yogurts, at, porridge, full English, salmon, eggs everywhich way and toast! Really attentive owners and obviously enjoy what they do. Room was spacious and lovely. Very small bathroom though but complimentary shampoo and shower gel as well as normal teas and coffees, also a mini fridge in room. I was very impressed by the small cordial shots for children. A nice touch. I loved that there was an Alexa in the room, we use an alexa at home daily for a timer for my sons milk. This was super handy. Also smart TV! My only issue is the parking, it is fortunate that this place has parking but it is a walk away from the building. You also have to pay an extra £4.50 a day for it. Yes cheaper than other car parks but it would seem a better deal if the price was included in the room cost although I understand not possible with people who don't drive. Fantastic stay, lovely owners would visit again in future.

We are no strangers to Newquay but this was our first time at St Bernards. Lovely warm welcome, room was fresh, spotlessly clean and breakfast was simply outstanding, with a great choice available. The location is perfect and safe secure parking is available. All in all great value. We would definitely recommend and we will return.

The St Bernard Guest House couldn't be in a better location. It is easy to get to by all forms of transport. You get a great welcome on arrival that stays there throughout yor stay. The room's are excellent wilth dressing gowns included. There are two types of of pillows one soft and another one firmer.The furniture is up to date and even a mini fridge is provided. There is even a fitness room that has a sauna in it. The breakfast is good but you have to pre order it the night before. I can't praise it enough, I would recommend it to anyone visiting Newquay.

We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Newquay. Paul and his ife were lovely throughout and the breakfasts were spot on. The property is a very high standard and our room was lovely with clearly a lot of thought put into what you would need.

Home from a lovely 7 nights at St Bernards. We couldn’t fault it, it is an absolute goldmine. The rooms are clean, comfy and decorated lovely. The breakfast is amazing and so many options. Chantelle and Paul were the best hosts and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. Not forgetting how accommodating they are for dogs; especially our very large Greyhound.
