John and Amy are perfect hosts, friendly and helpful during the stay, the room had an amazing view and was definitely worth the stairs to get there. The breakfast had plenty of options and was enough to set you up for the day, we will stay again and recommend

Comfy clean rooms, good food, friendly hosts who were relaxed about us taking food back of an evening (eg take away fish and chips) which we were able to enjoy in the breakfast room. John and Amy ensured we had everything we needed for a most happy 3 nights stay in their home. Thank you much appreciated. John has a fun sense of humour too 😂

Myself and my wife recently stayed at Gecko’s Rest and had a great time. John and Amy couldn’t do enough to help, and we’re friendly throughout. Everywhere was clean and spotless, and the breakfasts in the morning were excellent. We could have whatever we wanted without ever feeling we were being awkward. The location was also good with just a short walk down the hill to get to the shops and beach. We loved our stay and will certainly be back.

We just spent 3 nights at this wonderful B&B.Amy &John were Amazing hosts,nothing was too much trouble! Wow what a beautiful place ,absolutely spotlessly clean,and the attention to detail on lots of things were second to none!Breakfast was lovely and with plenty of choices,the service was fantastic! A wonderful place to stay if you are thinking of a visit to Newquay! Would highly recommend it! Thank you Amy & John for your hospitality 😍

The room we had on the top floor was at the front of the building and had fabulous sea views. The only downside to this was the loud road noise which continued until around 11pm when the traffic started to become less busy. We had a fridge and the usual tea and coffee making facilities, and fresh milk was available for free from the fridge in the breakfast room. Although we didn't make use of it ourselves, it is possible to use the dining room for takeaways and the proprietors are happy for people to use crockery and cutlery for this. The town centre was a quick downhill walk so location is excellent, but if you have mobility problems beware that the walk back up the hill is quite steep. The breakfasts were very good with tasty hot food. John displayed magnificent skills of memorising our different breakfast items each morning for the 3 people in our party! Continental options not available, just small cereal boxes. Parking was good either at the front or rear of the property, just beware of the very narrow lane to drive around the back! We very much enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely lovely B & B. Will definitely stay here again. John and Amy were lovely and gave really warm welcome. All the small touches they’ve made to the B & B are really nice, the China and cutlery, even the towel’s actually smelt really nice, which doesn’t happen anymore. Only tiny thing I might change is that you can have a takeaway breakfast made for you, bacon bap etc, which is amazing but it’s made the night before so it’s cold in the fridge, I’d love a microwave downstairs for guests to use to heat up that breakfast. Didn’t affect our stay what so ever though. Would love to stay again.

Our stay at Geckos Rest was fantastic. John & Amy were very friendly & welcoming & nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice available. Our room had a lovely sea view & was very clean & comfortable with everything we could need. Great location, a short walk to the town, restaurants, bars & beaches. Parking available was a bonus too. We couldn’t recommend this B&B enough & feel that it is great value for money.

Spotlessly clean room (number 4) with comfy bed, en-suite and a sea view. Overlooks front of the guest house onto busy Mount Wise road so expect a bit of traffic noise. John the owner was friendly and most attentive. Breakfasts were super all 3 days of our stay. Off road parking is also a big plus in busy Newquay at this time of year. The guest house was barely 5 minutes walk to the bus Station and town centre restaurants. All in all, good value and perfectly comfortable.

There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this B&B. Ideally located for many great beaches, ideally located for good food and nightlife. My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The welcome was warm and the local knowledge was superb. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and check in and check out was as simple as can be. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone travelling to the area.
