The North Hero House Inn & Restaurant

The friendliest and most welcoming staff I’ve ever encountered at a hotel. From front desk, to kitchen staff, bartender, waitstaff…everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Very cool Inn I’m a very cool location. We will definitely go there again.

Simply wonderful. Spent New Year's Eve there, and it was like being in a movie. Dinner was a delight with fireworks, our room was so comfy, and we loved it. The owners were in attendance, and solicited opinions and comments. It was honestly a perfect evening.

All I can say is the new owners know what they are doing! They've captured the historic essence of the inn without feeling dated and still providing modern conveniences. The rooms are beautifully renovated. We stayed in the Tappan Room. Crisp clean decor with antique bedside tables and modern lamps that double as wireless chargers for your devices. Traditional white tiled bathroom with clawfoot tub, and modern rainfall showers plus towel warmers!! Breakfast is outstanding! No dried up bagels or stale cereals here - fresh eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, and fresh fruit beautifully served. If you are not a fan of older homes, you may not appreciate the narrow staircases and imperfect floors. Handicap accessibility was not a consideration when the inn was originally built. If you can overlook that, you'll be rewarded with spectacular views of the lake, scrumptious food, and top notch service.

The room was wonderful- Wood. Just beautiful! Great bed and wonderful Shower! The food was out of this world!! Dinner was top notch!! Farm to Table! ! Breakfast was delicious! The chef for breakfast ( blond hair 50’s) did a fabulous job!! Robert and Colleen were also wonderful!! The place is gorgeous!! We stayed her for 5 days while Exploring Vermont!

Such a disappointment. I wanted so much to love this place, and to officially designate it as my new hangout for me and my crew. The interior design is beautiful. The atmosphere: sumptuous, but in the end, accommodations were lacking and misleading. I was promised certain accommodations on a very off season, off night evening. My credit card was charged over $200 for the night for a room that resembled a hostel (couldn’t have been more than 250 ft.² in size) similar to one which a weary traveler would possibly stumble upon in an Eastern European village. Realizing that I was the only guest in house and not feeling the “VIP” vibe, I ultimately decided to retreat and find accommodations elsewhere. As of this writing, I am expecting that the owners will issue me a refund to my credit card for this unfortunate experience as I literally spent 30 seconds in the room. I am also optimistic that the new owners will put the pieces together and offer the impeccable service that this historic property deserves (side kudos for the undertaking, rehab and investment). I have read so many fabulous things about the design couple who have repurposed this property and I wish them the best of luck, but kinks still need to be worked out. Look forward to trying again soon.

This was the most gorgeous location you can imagine! We had a private screened porch overlooking Lake Champlain. The decor was gorgeous, in an understated, tasteful way. Staff is outstanding. The breakfast was delicious and even better than we expected. We also had dinner there and it too was exquisite. We can't wait to go back and stay longer!

Simple room, nice shower, no view. Plenty of Towels but no glass to use in bathroom for rinsing after brushing teeth.. a simple need to fulfill. The Hotel has been newly renovated and is lovely but they were short staffed, made our arrival a disappointment.

Returning for the 5th time in 23 years at the Inn, we were delighted with the change and renovation of the rooms even though we already loved them before. Our room was very cozy and the view was magnificent. The only negative point is that we made a mistake in the reservation and booked 2 nights. I requested cancellation directly and a refund for one night, a refund which I did not receive and my emails went unanswered.

Made a dinner reservation for our anniversary. Arrived on time and only waited a few moments to be seated. Our waitress took our drink orders and seemed to disappear. After waiting 30+ minutes I went to the bar to check on our drinks. I found the bar empty except for the bartender and our now warm drinks sitting on the end of the bar. We decided that if we couldn't get a cold bar drink, how could we expect a warm meal, especially, if she had yet to take our meal order. When I informed the staff that we were disappointed and were leaving, they gave us a weak apology and made no effort to dissuade us.
