Booked for dinner food cold no finesse .Ordered seafood platter prawns soaked no taste smoked salmon boiled salad included quartered tomatoes no dressing. Saddle lamb chop with a bowl of half cut tomatoes feta cheese no combination cold fries half skinned. Service non existent had to go to the bar for salad dressing consisting of olive oil with black pepper waitresses looked straight through me when I tried to get attention Expensive let down. Not asked how the meal was service very poor wouldn't recommend at all.0 out of 10

Rough looking car park on arrival, building appeared pleasant. The room was a good size but it needed to be with a huge 4 poster bed crammed into the spaceonly 18 inches between bed and walls, on one sidea piece of wall jotted out right at the foot of the bed meaning i had to turn sideways to get passed the bed.. The bed however was very comfortable. Room tired and needs some attention, windows would not stay open, carpet a bit passed its sell by date. Dirt and what looked like paint scrapings under radiator. Bathroom small only one small shelf to place anything and it protruded over the entrance to the shower meaning that to avoid injury on the sharp glass edge another twist to the side to enter shower. Breakfast on the first morning (buffet) fried eggs swimming in fat and solid totally inedible, scrambled eggs pale and liquid. beans over cooked and stuck to the container. Hash browns nice. Second morning much better. Dinner on one night, everything that had been griddled was burnt. Mixed grill virtually inedible the rare steak actually black on one side. Not a good experience.

Best that can be said is that the hotel looks tired and in need of a refurbishment! On immediate arrival it was hard not to notice the awful damp stale smell in the corridors. Once in the room we find the carpets to be dirty and stained, the windows filthy and the shower cubicle moldy and broken. The cubicle is so small the only thing that gets a decent wash is the cubicle door. The bed was comfortable enough but the sheets did not seem fresh on. Breakfast was included and again was under whelming. Full English but more beans then anything else. The waitress was surly and bordering on rude,. Vastly over priced for what I have to say ranks with one of the worst hotels ive ever stayed in.

Very over priced (£185 p/n) considering the appearance of our room. Stains on the carpets, dust on the bed (4 poster - what's the point of a 4 poster bed without a canopy?), and the limescale / grot around the bottom of the shower screen was awful. The toiletries (little bottles of hair/body wash) were beautifully presented in the bathroom.. haha, I mean they were shoved into one of the plastic drinking cups, as were the 2 bars of soap... Mattress - rock hard... no give in it at all (and I like medium to firm). I appreciate it's down to what you like, but I questioned whether we were sleeping on the bed slats rather than a mattress as there was just so little give or bounce in it The rooms are "individually" decorated apparently, which usually means there's a theme to each one... not here... bland apart from a bright blue canvas on the wall - they need to sack the interior decorator I think.... nothing seems to tie in together and it just doesn't seem welcoming or comfortable. I would've been happier in a Travelodge to be honest Food - evening meal was good, generous qty and tasty. Breakfast was OK too, just lacked some pastries Staff - all friendly enough.... I think overall it just needs some money and time thrown at it

Disappointing quality late night celebration dinner. Bland and not well balanced felt like the chef wanted to close kitchen so food was rushed Four plates left unfinished. Friendly staff but they can’t make right poor quality ingredients.

The hotel is an old building but with a good bar and restaurant. The hotel is let down by the cleaners. The room was dirty with a couple of things from previous occupant under the bed. The 4 poster bed head rail at fa e height was full of dust and even after we wrote a ******* booking review on day one the dust remained until day 3. When we arrived there was not even a bar of soap or shampoo in the room. The toilet had not been cleaned. Dirty linen outside an adjacent room remained in the corridor,for 24 hours

Called in for drinks and booked for dinner. Ordered grilled chicken with fries and cheese. When it came it was just a mush of soggy chips and chicken swimming in blue and other melted cheese. Totally disgusting and inedible. Told the waitress who said she would tell the chef but did nothing about it. Won’t be back. Shame really as the bar and staff were nice.

The food on boxing day was lovely great choice of carvery,desserts were gorgeous Tegan/Enya the waitresses was friendly and efficient perfect round up to chris**as with my elderly mum. The whole a**osphere was lovely and chris**assy.
