Motel One Nurnberg-City

Step out of the main station and turn right and BOOM, you’re right there Couldn’t get a better located hotel if you are on business for one or two nights, where you need to use the train So, events at the Messe are perfect - just get on the U1 south Reception were friendly and efficient The Sky Lounge bar is great….top views of the city and very relaxing Breakfast is standard continental and they had a lovely Asian woman working there that took care of us Room however…..it’s a good thing I wasn’t in there for long Aircon didn’t work, so window open and you invite all the sirens, drunks shouting and trains beeping into your nightmares When it’s warm outside, you suffer in your own pool of degraded sweat The TV likes to surprise you and occasionally come on by itself too Severe lack of facilities in the room also encourages you to spend as little time as possible inside As for the shower, I hate showers that don’t have full doors, meaning water will end up on the bathroom floor Thankfully, the hotel had a remedy for the issue…they simply reduce the power of the water pressure to the point of defying gravity - so no chance of it spilling out on to the floor Overall - would I stay here again? Absolutely, for one or two nights only and only because I need to be close to the station Any other reason, you would be out of your mind to do so

Wir sind recht treue Kunden bei Motel One. Mindestens zweimal jährlich nutzen wir ein Motel One Hotel, dieses Jahr ist es bereits das dritte mal. Wir haben kurzfristig das Motel One Nürnberg City gebucht für zwei Nächte zum vollen Preis, den wir gleich beim Einchecken bezahlt haben noch bevor wir uns des Ausmasses der Bauarbeiten bewusst waren. Hätten wir von den Bauarbeiten im Hotel gewusst, hätten wir das am Bahnhof oder Plärrer gebucht. Beide sehr nah an der Altstadt. Dies war kein Business-trip sondern Urlaub. Es war nicht möglich nach unserer Ankunft am Mittag Ruhe zu finden. Also sind wir bei brütender Hitze ins Zentrum gelaufen und um 17.00 zurück aber bis 18.00 wurde immer noch gebohrt und gehämmert. Auch am nächsten Morgen wurden wir um 09.30 wieder aus dem Bett gehämmert. Wir wurden an der Rezeption darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass diese Information nicht auf die Homepage oder beim Buchen zu finden war, da die Bauarbeiten während der offiziellen Arbeitszeiten durchgeführt werden. Ich als Gast komme aber in ein Hotel, um mich zu erholen; auch tagsüber. Leider erlebten wir unseren Urlaub dieses mal auf einer Baustelle (keine Lobby, keine Bar, abgerissene Tapeten, keine Möglichkeit auf ein richtiges Frühstück) und nicht mit der guten Erfahrung, die wir normalerweise mit Motel One machen. Eine Antwort auf unsere Reklamation, die nur per Email möglich ist, haben wir vom Management nie erhalten. Motel One ist für mich keine Option mehr. Es gibt zwischenzeitlich genügend Konkurrenz, die auch etwas zu bieten haben.

Quiet and nice hotel some 300 m from the railway station. Friendly staff and ok breakfast. Rather small breakfast area but there is usually room. A few international TV channels. Reception is open 24/7.

I’ve never felt more disrespected from Hotel staff before! The hospitality was terrible, the receptionist staff we’re extremely rude I got the chance to get the name of S.Schubert who was the rudest staff I’ve met. Ended up not staying there from the first moment we’ve walked in. Overall terrible experience, definitely would not recommend!

Mein Zimmer war neben dem Aufzug und man konnte ihn ständig horen. Leute verabschiedeten sich lautstark vor dem Aufzug, sodass ich mehrfach nachts wach wurde. Die Türen stellen keinen wirklichen Lärmschutz.

Looking into hotel options for near the city center in Nürnberg, I quickly came across Motel One Nürnberg City. All photos looked appealing and 89 Euros a night (without breakfast) seemed like a good price. So my decision was made and I reserved a room. Upon arriving I first noticed the beautiful train themed decoration in the lobby area. The two receptionists, who welcomed me, were very friendly and forthcoming. Upon online registration I'd received a code for a free breakfast, which one receptionist helped me book under my name. My room turned out to look as beautiful as in the photos and was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection and included vegan options as well.

Loved staying at this hotel. Price, value, staff. Room was fresh and bed very comfy. Excellent location will definitely stay here again if local. The roof bar was a lovely place to sit in the evening and look at the city. Right next to the train station.

The hotel is clean and calm. Breakfast is ok. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the city center. There is a metro station at the bottom. A blond boy from the staff tried to rip us off. He gave us price information and sent us to the next hotel and told us to ask there. When we came back he told us double the price and made us look like fools. So I found a good price for the same hotel on booking and made a reservation. I went to the reception again and showed the reservation on my phone and he was very upset. The other staff was very nice.
