The Ratcliffe Guest House

Myself and my husband Peter stayed here for 5 nights just recently. The place is absolutely spotless. Anna the landlady carried our bags upto our room which was room 8 on the top floor. The room was spotless and cleaned each day.The best beds that I have ever slept in.Breakfast was lovely,always came red hot and plenty on your plate.Kevin the landlord does the cooking whilst Anna likes to talk to the guests which is brilliant. The beach is just at the end of the road, plenty of shops and cafes around. We have been to Paignton before but just for the day. We don’t think that we would return,but if we did I would definitely stay at this lovely B&B. P.S Thanks for the window cloth omg it’s brilliant,I did all the windows with it and the mirrors and the car (haha). I know where to order another one from in the future. Another wonderful stay at this friendly guest house. Very warm welcome on arrival and shown to my immaculate room. Nothing too much trouble for the hosts and an excellent piping hot breakfast supplied every morning. Needless to say once again clean plates sent back every day. Single room 3 (even though I thought it was 5) was perfect for my stay. OK it is not the largest but the layout worked well and was immaculate. Everything needed was supplied and a lovely holiday was had. Hats off to Anna and Kev for their amazing service and attention to their guests including Anna's concern when I had, due to my own fault, got rather sunburnt during the week. Cannot recommend this guest house high enough and look forward to returning at the next opportunity.

Clean and comfortable room in a perfect location. Great location close to the sea front. Lovely breakfast included. Host was so friendly and welcoming. Really attentive and happy to deal with any requests. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

What a lovely guest house. The location is perfect for reaching Paignton town centre, beach, pier, pubs, restaurants, cafes , train station and bus station all by foot. The guest house itself was immaculate! Great size room, comfortable bed, brilliant shower, mugs and kettle with good supply/selection of hot drinks and even bottles of water in room. TV had good selection of channels and WiFi signal was great. The breakfast was fantastic, good choice available and owners were very friendly and keen to make sure everything was OK. The whole guesthouse was well presented and clean, looked like everywhere was recently painted and carpets looked new! Thank you for a lovely stay 😀

Can't rate high enough. This is an affordable place to stay. Immaculately kept, efficiently run, and really friendly. Breakfast was more than sufficient and perfectly cooked, nothing is too much trouble for the landlord and landlady. Close to all local amenities and only a few minutes walk to the beach. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a relaxing and chilled out place to stay. We came to escape reality for a few days and couldn't of chosen anywhere better.

After a great stay last year I returned, hoping that it would live up to my expectations and was certainly not disappointed. Lovely warm welcome as I arrived and shown to my room, which was again immaculate. It is not the largest of places to stay, but that does give it an advantage as the personal service far out ways any so called economies of scale. 7 Days, 7 Breakfasts and 7 clean plates says it all regarding the food supplied at breakfast. Delicious, hot and promptly served every single day. All in all another lovely stay at such a friendly place. Look forward to returning when I can.

If you're looking to stop with a wonderful couple in a great location with clean, comfortable beds and a satisfying breakfast. This is the place for you. Paignton is a good location for accessing many areas.
