We have just spent the last week staying at the Valtos Beach Hotel - it’s such a lovely place. We booked direct and opted for a superior, sea view room. It’s a family run hotel with hard working, friendly staff. What was lovely to see was the elderly greek gentleman (who we think may have been the original owner) greeting staff, waving to guests whilst sat having his morning coffee. The breakfast was a buffet - cooked, continental, fruit, cereals, Greek yoghurt, pastries. The restaurant area was overlooking the pool and sea with outside seating too. There are a lot of steps at the hotel which maybe an issue for guests with limited mobility. The swimming pool area was not overly big but on the occasion that we went there was sun-bed availability. Pool towels are supplied and you are allowed to use them outside of the complex too. We stayed B & B as wanted to dine out at local restaurants. On one evening we went to the hotel’s Akti Restaurant and the food was fantastic. We also had food whilst using the beach loungers - very nice and good value for money. There’s so much to see and do in the area. It was better value to hire a car for the week than pay for an airport transfer. The road from the airport is so easy and takes just over an hour. We did the Acheron river trek, Antipaxos & Paxos boat trip with Marco Polo, drove to Agila Restaurant above Sarakiniko Beach to watch the sunset, went to Ali Pasha castle and stopped at Anthousa on our return, visited Ammoudi Beach, Ai Giannakis Beach, Lichnos Beach, Karavostasi Beach. The walk to Parga takes about 15 minutes but does involve a very step pathway and then a lot of steps down to the harbour area. If you are less mobile you can take the water taxi from Valtos Beach. There is a lovely vibe, day and night in Parga with many eateries - some with fantastic views. Stefanos Taverna, Sakis Restaurant are on the top ridge and overlook Valtos Beach - can recommend both. We have had a fantastic holiday and can’t wait to return to the Valtos Beach Hotel.
