We went for lunch on the spur of the moment on a busy December day a week before Chris**as, having not visited the Norway Inn for many, many years. It was a 5 star experience all round. Becky (front of house, on only her first week in the job) was superb. Nothing was too much trouble. She gave us a quiet table away from a large table of 20, ensured our food order went in before their mains, was bright and cheerful and attentive and a real credit to the pub. The pub was attractively and tastefully decorated for Chris**as and is large enough and with enough different spaces that we were totally unaware of the big party. The food was great. We had pesto pappardelle, a really tasty macaroni cheese, & excellent garlic bread. We shall definitely visit again soon.

Been here many times in the past so thought we would try for breakfast. Although the place was empty the service was so slow. Eventually a member of staff took our order then about 10 minutes later she came and told us there was no salmon or pancakes. That meant most of the menu was missing. When the food arrived it was okay but nothing to shout about like it used to be.

I came here with my 6 bridesmaids, the night before my wedding at a farm down the road, and we absolutely loved the place! We arrived unexpectedly late and the staff were really nice about it; we had the whole floor of rooms to ourselves. The staff were so accommodating at every stage, including allowing late check-out so I could arrive at my ceremony on-time. In the morning, we couldn't get a taxi due to another big event taking place nearby and were panicking a bit, so one of the staff offered to give us a lift to the ceremony in the pub car, even though it took her two trips!! The rooms are much bigger than they look in the pictures; there was plenty of space for us all to get ready in the same room. The beds are massive and super comfy. And breakfast was absolutely delicious, again with super friendly staff, who even helped me to print a bunch of wedding programmes which I'd forgotten to print the day before. All my bridesmaids couldn't stop commenting about how much they loved the place. Highly recommended to stay here, and a massive thank you to all the staff for making my wedding morning so fantastic!

The Norway has now become our favourite place to eat. The food is exceptional, the a**osphere is great and the staff are absolutely lovely. Prices are very reasonable too. This last visit I had the best Eton Mess ever and I just have to share a pic!

We ate here on the last day of our holiday, and it was a huge let down. The food was decent; I had a Norway burger, which was nice. My Mum wanted steak, along with her partner, but they'd run out of steak. It happens, I guess. The service was just poor throughout. A girl took our starter orders, but just wandered off before taking mains, then came back five minutes later. Two starters arrived, with no cutlery, then a waitress brought two sets of cutlery, meaning we needed more when the other meals arrived. We had to get salt and pepper from another table as well. The mains arrived and again, no cutlery. When we were brought some there were three sets, we assumed the steak would come with a steak knife; wrong. Mum's partner then waited for his cutlery and when it came, no steak knife. During the meal we wanted drinks, another waitress (third of four) came and took one drink order, then wandered off before we could add more. Eventually we got another waitress to take our other drinks, and was told they didn't do Coke by the pint, even though I had a pint to start with. After desserts two of our party wanted another drink, but again there was no staff at all, so in the end we fetched from the bar. It was all a bit shambolic, which was a shame because the food was decent; not five star, but good enough. If I were the chef, I'd be gutted three star food is let down by inattentive staff. It's not even like they were busy: four waitresses had perhaps four tables to cover.

We visited the Norway Inn 12 years ago when I was pregnant with my Daughter. We had two superb meals here, so decided to try a meal with our now 11 year old and 5 year old Son. Our Waitress was incredibly friendly and welcoming, stopping to chat and ask how our holiday was going. She was also very attentive, considering how busy it was on a Friday evening. We shared 3 starters between the four of us, from quite a limited menu. My mushrooms were very tasty, but my husband had smoked salmon, which was difficult to spot on his plate. For £8, he was expecting something a bit more substantial and the avocado was so hard he couldn't eat it. Our mains included a steak, which was nice, and children's cod goujons, which were very greasy. I had a Caesar salad and the chicken was quite tough, with cremated bacon pices. Our Daughter did enjoy her pappardelle pasta with chicken and chorizo. We didn't stay for dessert and people were being turned away when we left, as they were short of kitchen Staff, even though it was advertised that food was served until 9pm. It was an ok meal, but for £121, were just a bit disappointed, as the last time we came, the food was amazing. It was a while ago, so maybe we were expecting too much.

I travel a lot and this place is absolutely in the top 5 places I have ever stayed, the staff are friendly, bubbly and attentive. Rooms are superb, airey, clean and exceptionally well dressed, you definitely won't find better in Cornwall. And to complete your stay the food is exceptional, had to wait a little while but worth having everything fresh, seriously the best place in Cornwall hands down, it's a little out of the way but that's also a bonus. Thank you Norway Inn ill be coming back again and again

We visited on 14th February for an evening Valentines meal. We were very disappointed. No effort was made for the occasion, we were sat in the back room facing the toilets, next to a bar where customers were loud and swearing. There was plenty of room elsewhere so I'm not sure why we were sat there. We arrived at 6.25pm and at 6.50pm no one had taken our drinks order. I went to the bar where I asked, do we order here or is it table service? He replied with, while you're here you may as well order here. Then a waitress came to our table to take our order, which was then too late as we had orderedat the bar. The food was average, tasteless and dry, service terrible. We paid at the bar where 3 staff were doing nothing but chatting. We left and were not spoken too, just ignored. A very disappointing evening, we will not be returning.

This place wraps together so much that we enjoy. Traditional farmers/rugby, warm, happy a**osphere. We enjoyed our three night stay so much, Well chosen menu and well kept ales. Most pleased with our well prepared, comfortable room. The young, competent staff cheerfully greeted us as we returned daily from Truro and Falmouth. Insulated from the heavy traffic on the main road, with a flow of regulars it still has the rare feel of a country pub with good rooms. Seems to have survived the privations of COVID in good heart. Have often glanced as we drove West and are now looking to return to this unusually good place.
