The welcome at the hotel wasn’t exactly great. It was a bit blunt when we went to reception. It was hot and the bar was closed so we didn’t have any option to get a drink unless we went out somewhere. The room was clean and tidy. The toilet paper is basically useless though- I will bring my own next time. The breakfast was ok. Quality of the bacon and sausages needs improving a fair bit I think and I think a fried breakfast should have the chance of fried bread personally. The glasses for drinks also need to be larger. Also, if you make guests pay for breakfast then please make sure someone is there to check they have- when we went down Friday morning nobody was around and we weren’t going to hang around and wait- we were hungry so just went in. Nobody checked if we paid though. If you ask people to wait to be seated, someone should always be in view to make sure guests can be checked. There was an example of very poor service Friday night. For some reason the WiFi code runs out after 24 hours despite me being there and paying for it for my entire stay. So I went downstairs to get another one and nobody was about. Me and another guest rang the buzzer- nobody came. We rang it multiple times, knocked on the door next to reception multiple times. Nothing. The other guest went to the person serving at the bar who confirmed he was the only one downstairs at the time so was doing everything. This simply isn’t good enough- for staff or guests. I also asked for another WiFi code and he didn’t even check I had paid, or get my room number - he just gave me one. So again, there was no real need for me to have paid for it. There were a group of WiFi codes on the reception desk which I realised I could have just taken as well- I will expect premier inn to refund me the cost of the WiFi given its clear they just give it out to whoever asks. The air con in the room worked very well, although could have done with going a bit cooler I think given the very hot weather. Me and my boyfriend both said the bed was very sturdy and comfortable, so that was a positive.
