Bel hôtel, belles chambres mais très déçus par la restauration, pas du tout à la hauteur d'un 5 étoiles et un choix de plats limité à deux.... Petit déjeuner idem, très décevant et 25 minutes d'attente pour avoir deux oeufs au plat !

Personel chaleureux,tres jolies suites, petit dejeuner correct. Piscines froides , bien que chauffees,donc inutilisable. Le soir aucun bar , on ne peu que ce refugier a la salle a manger ,une quinzenne de personnes dinent dans une ambiance de cathedrale , une cuisine qui se veut gastronomique, mais ne l'est pas,puis a 20h30 , coucher,rien d'autre a faire.

Un sans faute pour ce boutique hôtel. Emplacement idéal à quelques minutes à pieds de la Marina Rubicon. La vue sur les plages de papagayo et l’île de Fuerteventurq est spectaculaire. Les chambres sont très spacieuses, la décoration épurée avec de jolis détails soignés. Les espaces communs sont sublimes, notamment la salle de petit déjeuner. Le personnel est particulièrement attentifs et à l’écoute. Le petit déjeuner servis à la carte (dans le contexte de la pandémie) propose un large choix de plats salé et sucré. Nous avons apprécié que la cuisine s’adapte et nous propose des alternatives sans lactose.

*SUMMARY* I originally wrote a review about the hotel being lovely and peaceful but said that the management continually gaslight you if you have any issues. I note some other reviews have said similar things. In the management's replies to some other negative reviews, they deny things that happened or shift the blame to the customer. This is a good representation of how they behave at the hotel. I note since I pointed this out in my original review in mid-May 2024, they have started to miss out responses to any reviews that aren't five star! In line with their usual approach, I was expecting a gaslighting response to my original review. What was shocking is that, in order to deflect from the actual issues, they replied to my review with completely made up things e.g. that I told them I suffer from very bad insomnia! I do not and I did not tell them this. This made me change my rating and update my review to warn people. The management fabricating things to cover up genuine issues is never acceptable. I will leave whatever made up things they put in their response to this review as it only adds credence to what I'm saying. I know any reasonable person would be able to see the pattern in their responses to criticism, and that professional management do not behave like this. My issues were actually relatively minor (I'd originally given a generous 4* despite everything) so I'd hate to think what they'd make up if a customer had major issues. I should also point out they hid the existence of a complaints form, which they claim you can only get from reception, until after we left the hotel. This is despite my emailing a formal complaint on day 2 and asking what the formal procedure was on day 4. I've since read that hiding the complaints form is a serious thing in Spain so it's another indication of what the management will do to avoid acknowledging issues. They claim that telling me to go reception if I have any other problems instead of emailing (i.e. avoiding a email trail) was the same as informing me about the complaints form! *DETAILS* At this point the issues themselves don't really matter. It's the management response to them that was the problem. However, I'll include them here for completeness.. 1) We had a faulty electrical box in our room with a buzzing that got increasingly loud after you switched on the electricity with the hotel card. It got really loud during the night. This made it difficult (but not impossible) to fall asleep and I sent a two sentence email at 11pm the first night. I'd actually fallen asleep at 8pm as we'd returned to hotel early that night after being tired from our early flight. This email wouldn't be a big deal for normal hotel management. I even explained we'd noticed it within an hour of checking in, and didnt want to make a fuss, but that it had become much louder. The hotel itself is nice and peaceful. However, like some other reviews have mentioned the management/service is poor. The reception continually gaslighted me about things that other hotels would just apologise for. I think their responses to negative Tripadvisor reviews are a good reflection of how they behave at the hotel. Cue gaslighting response to this review! They also deliberately didn't inform me about the complaints form until I left the hotel, even though I raised a formal complaint on the first day and asked what the formal process was. This is very sneaky. Issue 1: Failing to deliver what they promised and lack of transparency They had no gluten-free options, (not even a single slice of toast) for my first breakfast, for which they charge €19 euros! This is after promising twice in advance (via email) that that they could cater for gluten-free and that they'd already informed the kitchen. They even strung me along for a whole hour at breakfast by repeatedly claiming the gluten-free bread would arrive in 5 minutes before I just gave up and left. And they didn't even offer a partial refund for the breakfast! They also gave three different and conflicting reasons as to why this happened. And then even tried to claim that I'd 'enjoyed gluten-free bread' in response to my complaint email. And then tried to say it was my fault because the gluten-free bread was available by 10am, when breakfast closed. The next day, I was surprised to see much more gf options and I found out it was only because another gf guest had arrived that day. That's pretty appalling especially for what's supposed to be a 5* hotel. Issue 2: Repeatedly pretending to address the faulty electric box in the room which made a continuous loud buzzing sound. Then when I said I have a video of it still buzzing, they claimed all rooms have it!

This was our third stay at La Cala Suites. We keep returning because it is so relaxing there. All the staff are so welcoming, especially Natalia, Raoul, Paola, Diago and the rest of the team that were looking after us throughout the days and evenings. The hotel is well maintained and the views/ location are magnificent. Thank you also to Zandra and all the room cleanings staff as they do such an excellent job. If you want complete relaxation, freedom to explore the beautiful Rubicón Marina’s restaurants and a really quiet place to stay then this is the one. We cannot wait to return next year. 😊😊 A & S

This was our second visit to this lovely hotel - we last visited in September 22, the improvements to the pool bar area were a definite plus. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and very professional - nothing was too much trouble, a special thank you to Natalya and Raul. We stayed in a pool view suite - the alternative is a suite or upper floor room that overlooks the sea with views out towards Papagayo beaches, I am sure these rooms will have lovely morning sunshine and cooler shade in the evenings. The breakfasts were great, table service with ample options , the addition of the freshly squeezed orange juice machine was a treat (I pity the person who has to clean it though). We decided to book dinner one night - it was by far the best meal of our holiday really delicious, and lovely bottle of wine - Ribera del Duero for only 26 Euros. Other nights we strolled down to the Marina - I suggest you pre-book if you want to eat at the popular time and would like to have a good table overlooking the water and the boats. The shops and restaurants that have opened up beneath the new Barcelo hotel were great - you also have access to very clean public loos. This is a small Boutique hotel that never feels full (although I am sure it is fully occupied) there is always lots of room around the lovely pool area. If you want peace, quiet and total relaxation then this is the hotel for you.

This was our third visit and we love this hotel so much we will definitely come back every year. I feel myself relaxing the moment I walk in. The staff are wonderful and remember us and greet us with warmth and pleasure to see us back again. We always book a suite as it is a room on the ground floor with easy access to the pool about ten steps away! Plenty of sun beds available so no need to rush out and put towels down. Each room has two beach towels provided and bath and hand towels each, shower gel and soap is in containers on the wall and there is a kettle and n espresso machine. Six nespresso capsules are provided and additional ones carry a charge. There is a fridge in the room and a safe. The bed is very large and very comfortable. Breakfast is a buffet breakfast but with the option to order individual items from a menu as well. The location is perfect with views from the pool over to Fuerteventura and it is so peaceful. Definitely my happy place!

Such a relaxing environment . Everything about this hotel reflected the effort that the staff put into ensuring that there guests had the most enjoyable experience. Book a restaurant,no problem, taxi ,no problem. I have not stayed at a better hotel in playa blanca in all the years I have been coming here
