Residence Inn Pleasant Hill Concord

What a disaster. The hotel is next to the freeway and super sketchy. And I got a $150 charge for a “pet cleaning fee” when I have no pets. I am following up with them and they are basically saying that children are pets. We left it spotless! AVOID THIS PLACE!!! The front staff was nice, but they can’t do anything to help you. The breakfast is decent.

This location is an older apartment complex converted to an extended stay hotel. The units are spread across several buildings with outdoor stairs. Make sure to ask for a ground floor unit if you cannot do stairs. The room had a slight smell— not and, but could tell it was older. The furnishings and fixtures were worn and dated, the bed was extra firm, the amenities very basic. The sofa bed had a very thin mattress— fine for one child, not suitable for an adult. The breakfast was very basic. The service was good— asked for extra pillows and were delivered right away. Our unit did not have an oven even though the website photos show an oven— so no frozen pizzas from the grocery store. The hotel is located in a residential area but right next to the freeway. The freeway noise was like white noise— but if you are sensitive to sounds of cars, this may not be the place for you. The location was very close to shops and restaurants in Pleasant Hill— and a Safeway grocery a couple minutes away.

We stayed here for a night last weekend when in town and had a wonderful visit. Staff were friendly and helpful. Anaiza checked us in and we were grateful for her assistance. The room was clean and everything worked well. We enjoyed the space and comfort of the Residence Inn - and frequently choose this chain on travel. Lots of choices for breakfast. We had waffles and oatmeal. They had several toppings for both, which was great. There is a bit of road noise but we slept well.

Check in was a breeze, breakfast every morning in the main lobby M-F 7am- 9am, S-S 7am-10am. We stayed in building 5 near the freeway. One bed room and full kitchen. Noise level from the freeway wasn't so bad. It rained everyday, the area where we parked flooded lol..luckily we had a SUV. Felt like a condo vibe, our room was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Staff was very attentive to our needs and delivered extra towels and blankets fast. I'd highly recommend this place, lots of eaterys and shopping in the area. If you're lucky you'll see Turkeys every morning near the stoplight.

My wife and I are in our late 70's and she is on oxygen so I was very disappointed in our 2nd floor room location because of the lack of any elevator. Stayed one night and cancelled two nights. My primary choice in travel is the Marriott. But I certainly would not stay at this place again.

Ill parent. Last minute trip to Bay Area. Hotel well located. Sean very pleasant at check-in. So bottom line, everything was as it should be. Until it wasn’t. Fast forward to 7:00 AM. Shower time. Ran the water. Cold. Kept running … still cold. Called down, James aware of the issue … and BOOM. No one on site to deal with it. Wait! What? What do you mean no one on site? So you just expect your guests to take a freezing cold shower with a weak apology? If you’re going to run a hotel, run it properly. Maintenance issues happen all hours of the day and night. Have a resident technician. I was not offered a different room, nada. Breakfast meh. And the final reason I would not return. Any establishment which plays Fox News to it’s guests loses my business. Room itself fine until the water issue. Will not return.

We stayed 2 nights and found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. I enjoyed having a suite with separate rooms and bathrooms. We didn't cook in the kitchen but it was nice to have an ice maker and fridge in the room. The room was quiet, some freeway noise is heard but overall the area was very quiet. Breakfast was a standard offering of eggs, sausage and waffles. I would stay here again if in the area.

We often stay here when visiting family in the Bay Area. Having some extra space & a kitchen is nice. Our recent trip was a mixed bag. Lauren at check-in was very helpful & kind. Many of the suites are right next to the freeway & noisy, so I always ask for a suite as far from the freeway as possible. She noticed I was assigned next to the freeway & stated they usually tried to keep Marriott Elite members away from there (I'm Titanium). She said they were full, but she could move us the next day. After I declined (my husband has Alzheimer's), she looked a bit more & was able to upgrade to a 2 bedroom suite as far from the freeway as possible. Thanks Lauren! A couple downsides - on the 1st floor, the flood light from outside hallway shines directly through kitchen window, which has only an opaque blind, lighting the entire suite through the night. The bedroom doors are glass-paned, so impossible to darken the rooms to sleep well if you're light-sensitive like I am. We usually stay on the 2nd floor, so this was unexpected on the ground floor suite. Breakfast is included, but currently the options are pretty horrible. The breakfast sandwiches & belgian waffles are packaged & just warmed, but definitely don't taste fresh. They did have oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit & coffee. I wish they still offered the fresh eggs & sausage they had previously, even in the height of the pandemic. We will likely stay again, especially since this is the only Marriott location in the area with free parking.

It's a Residence Inn, so it met my expectations as such. Our room was clean, quiet, and well appointed. The furnishings looked updated and there was nice artwork on the walls. We had plenty of room for the 2 of us in a studio - nice to have space to relax other than on the bed. Staff was friendly and professional.
