Finca Son Jorbo - Adults Only

I recently stayed at Finca Son Jorbo with a friend in the "Mar" apartment. The location of the finca is perfect. Situated 5 minutes driving or 20 minutes walking outside the village of Porreres means that you're totally secluded but also have easy access to everything you need. Although the finca is not coastal, I found myself visiting more beaches and coves than I usually do when visiting Mallorca, because there were so many that I could reach in just 20 minutes by car. The finca has free parking for guests and renting a car is definitely the way to go when visiting Mallorca if you want to see all that island has to offer. Returning to the finca each evening after a full day of exploring was always a treat. The location is also easy accessible from the airport. The grounds are beautiful and feel more like a home than a hotel. The gardens are filled with beautiful flowering plants. The 300 olive trees on the grounds are a Spanish dream. The apartment we rented was clean, had everything we needed (bathroom towels, beach towels, body wash, a fully functional kitchenette) and a few things we didn't NEED, but loved (a locally woven beach tote, a canvas hammock). The pool is beautiful and sunny all day long, but we didn't spend much time there is so much to do in the surrounding towns and coast nearby the finca. The hosts, Tina and Markus, are excellent. The attention and care that they bring to each and every interaction with guests was so welcoming. The breakfast that they prepare each morning is amazing: homemade jams; local fruits, vegetables, and cheeses; and freshly-squeezed OJ. They were also proactive about giving us recommendations about the best things to do and see on the island. I also loved that Tina and Markus featured the products of businesses and local artists, like Mallorcan wines and handmade ceramics, for sale in the common spaces. I loved my stay here and am already dreaming about the next time I'll be able to go! We have been very regular guests at FSJ since 2011, but this was our first visit since December 2019 due to travel restrictions. Now, of course, the Finca is under the stewardship of the new owners Tina and Markus and they are putting their mark on the property. They welcomed us warmly and helped with our luggage. We stayed in Rosa for 14 nights, it’s the most spacious apartment with an enchanting view from the terrace which never loses its charm. As returning guests our expectations were, as previously, very high and I must say the little touches that elevated the Finca to a 5* plus level, eg daily cleaning, fresh linen every 2 or 3 days, fresh flowers throughout the stay, facial tissues, milk, olive oil and other condiments etc are sadly missing. It feels the extra finesse, style and polish are somewhat lacking at the moment, but that is all resolvable I’m sure. Tina and Markus are, rightly, making FSJ their own, and I’m sure as they establish themselves this new version will evolve in many ways. We wish them a successful future……

We just loved this place. Hesitant of course to tell everyone about this gem but it would not be fair on Tina and Markus to give them anything other than top marks for facilitating such a wonderful atmosphere in their beautiful finca. We loved it because we had the privacy of a very tastefully decorated self catering apartment and yet we had interaction and struck up friendships with fellow holiday makers over breakfast. Other things we loved about it was the surrounding countryside, great place to listen to bird life (nightingales, scops owls, night jars). Very peaceful and absolutely super hosts.

What a wonderful place this is! Here's just some of the best bits: 1. Amazing hosts - Tina and Markus are very helpful, efficient and friendly without getting in the way of your holiday experience. 2. The finca itself is gorgeous - nicely decorated but without being overdone, lovely pool, lovely grounds and garden, great spaces to eat breakfast too and plenty of parking. 3. Breakfast - we could have eaten and eaten and eaten it all day! Homemade yogurts, cold meats, cheeses, homemade jams, croissants, pastries (local), bread rolls, butter, fresh coffee and juice plus your choice of freshly prepared eggs too. There was even a birthday cake for one of the other guests too, which was a lovely touch. 4. Beds - simple the most comfortable and high quality mattress with topper and pillows I've ever slept on. 5. Honesty bar for drinks and plenty of books and games to borrow too. 6. Tina and Markus lent us a bluetooth speaker, as I'd forgotten mine - I like to relax with music everyday. We had mixed weather on our short trip, but with a car, you can easily get out and about. For dinner, we ate at L'Escrivania in Porrers three times - it's that good. And yes, Tina and Markus has a very big dog, Barney, but he's mostly to be found in their private space, and isn't noisy either. And we liked Gizmo the cat too! The best thing about this finca, on top of the hospitality, is we were treated like friends, not paying guests and as it's a small finca, it feels cosy, homely, and just what we love when we're kicking back from our busy lives. Such a great place - highly recommended indeed.

Finca Son Jorbo is a calm place, very well located in the center of Mallorca. Es Trenc beach is 20 minutes drive, Tramuntana and Palma 40 minutes. Markus & Tina are very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, everything was there (fruits/eggs/saucage/variety of bread/yoghurt). Great clean and spacious appartments, provided with everything you need. Also we liked the combination of different nationalities; English and German guests (we are Dutch). A place we will likely book again.

Just great! Very nice owners with great hospitality. Beautiful apartment, clean and nicely decorated. We slept really well on the comfortable beds. Every morning we were spoiled with a great breakfast. The marmelades are all home made and tasted very nice. Beautiful and very quiet surroundings. Nice swimming pool where it was great to relax.

My wife and I stayed at Son Jorbo while doing some historical research and writing in Porreras. The apartment was spacious, spotless, and lovely. It had all the amenities one needs including a fully equiped kitchenette. The grounds are beautiful and we took several nice walks around the area. Tina and Marcus were outstanding and passionate about making people feel welcome: they were warm, engaging and extremely helpful. Breakfast on the patio was idyllic every morning and Tina and Marcus made constant efforts to make everyone's stay enjoyable. We will definitely stay there again in the future. Who knows...maybe there will even be a paddle court by our next time there :)

We stayed in the only 2 bed apartment for 5 nights. It was our first time in a Finca. We loved the setting and the warm welcome extended by our hosts Tina & Markus and we really did feel as though they would do everything to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The breakfast is sumptuous and will set you up for the day and due to the fact that there are only 5 tables, it is easy to chat to other guests, so a good place to stay for those interested in getting to know other guests. The honesty bar is an excellent idea for apéro and means you don't need to shop. Our only quibble was the standard of the apartment which isn't luxury and needs a design overhaul. Our terrace was pretty drab, but I think the other apartments had much better outside spaces. I can only judge our apartment which was the only one we saw, but it needed some attention. It is nice to have an apartment and the pool area is very relaxing as you are in the middle of the Majorcan countryside. Porreres is a cute town, very authentic, and other towns for dinner are close, but it is quite far to drive for either a beach day or dinner by the sea, so be prepared. It really is for those who are looking for a relaxing time in the Majorcan countryside, away from any hectic, and if that is what you are looking for, then a stay in Finca San Jorbo will certainly re-charge your batteries some. Wow! This was really a unique and beautiful experience for us. Me and my boyfriend stayed at Finca Son Jorbo in "Agua" and everything was perfect - the apartment, the breakfast (fresh juice, coffee and marmelade made by Tina) and the poolarea. They had a machine for fresh water and sparkling water that we could use when we needed. Tina and Markus were amazing and so warm. We couldn't have asked for more on this holiday - a holiday that we will always remember for sure. Thank you Tina and Markus for everything!! Big hugs from Denmark.
