Macrossan House Boutique Holiday Apartments

We are regular visitors to Port Douglas and have tried quite a number of accommodation options. Macrossan House is amongst the best. The location is central to everything. Even though it's the middle of the village it was very quiet. The room was a good size, clean, bright and comfortable. The host, Jo, was friendly and informative (we didn't get to meet Gary as he was busy behind the scenes). We arrived well before check-in time and early access to the room was no hassle at all. One of the good things about Macrossan House is that there's live-in onsite managers who take pride in what they do. They provide a sense of personalization to the place and the consistency of knowing who is at reception. The fact that you can park the car securely and walk everywhere in town is a huge benefit to staying here. We will be staying here again.

Modern & stylish, yet functional design. One of the best bathroom rooms. Large vanity with full width drawer which fitted 3 toiletry bags with easy access & use. Great usable kitchen and good size balcony. Very quiet considering it’s located in the heart of Port Douglas, walking distance to every restaurant, cafe & shops. Free parking and next door to Coles. Exactly as photos showed.

When planning a getaway and the following requirements are on your list, then Macrossan House Boutique Apartments is a must: quiet, heated pool, great location, central and convenient with easy access to everything, spacious rooms that are spotlessly clean, with fully equipped kitchen ( these are serviced apartments) modern, have a balcony, ceiling fans, air conditioning or both, aesthetically appealing, affordable and very comfortable, laundry, parking, then look no further Macrossan House is the ONE! On site managers, since 2019, Jo & Gary and Tilly ( new resident dog) are very professional, accomodating, hospitable, as well as very personable, delightful hosts and persons who are up for a chat, always smiling and happy to help with anything and everything big or small. Nothing is difficult for Jo & Gary and both are very knowledgeable and informative with recommendations for tours and activities and accordingly book tours as requested( on site tour desk) The first time I visited Port Douglas was in 2011 and stayed at Macrossan House, since then it has become an annual occurrence. Aside from one year whereby due to late decision / short notice, I had to seek alternative accomodation which ended up being a highly rated location also situated on Macrossan Street. It never came remotely close to the quality and standard of Macrossan House which is best summed up as a hidden gem. Do yourself a favour and check it out, you won’t be disappointed. My wife and I stayed here for one week and found a real little gem, all Apartments and one bedroom with a lounge which is ideal for couples who want a getaway. It is located right in the Macrossan St which makes it easy to move around but is off the the street enough for you to have peace and quiet from the happening street area. The on-site Managers , Gary and Jo where very accommodating, we also spoke to another 3 couples whilst around the pool area who said they had been staying on Macrossan St over 5 years in different Apartments and found Macrossan House to be the best kept one. Great Place for a getaway

Fantastic Accommodation! Step out and you are in the centre of Port Douglas amongst all the restaurants, cafes and shops. The owners were more than helpful, easy going and assisted us with bookings for activities. The unit was spacious, bright, only a few footsteps from the pool and had a lovely view onto the pool of the neighbouring facility. It was clean and furnished with modern furniture. The kitchenette was very practical and had everything we needed. As the block is set back from the hustle and bustle of Macrossan Street it’s very quiet. We absolutely loved our stay & felt extremely comfortable. We can highly recommend this hidden gem 😊!

This place was the perfect end to our trip to FNQ. Jo and Gary were so accommodating when we turned up early. They got us into an apartment in record time. The apartment was clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was particularly comfy and the aircon was quiet and efficient. The location is superb just off the main street of Port Douglas but you never hear a sound. We will definitely stay again.

What a lovely find , we extended our stay in port by 3 nights and needed to change accommodation. Very happy we found Macrossan House very comfortable rooms with all amenities, large fridge , microwave and hot plates , cutlery ect . Right in the middle of town with easy access to all pubs and restaurants. The hosts Jo and Gary are fantastic and extremely helpful. Highly recommend. We will be staying here next trip back to Port

Wonderful self contained apartments in the heart of Port Douglas, well appointed, spotlessly clean, very affordable and super convenient location. I will definitely come back. In a world of over inflated prices and over rated accommodation it was a breath of fresh air to find this gem of a complex and Jo and Gary were wonderful to deal with.
