West End Guest House

Positives - lovely property, bedroom and bathroom and cleanliness great. Negatives - phoned to say we were on our way and they advised you need to be here by 6.30 as we are going out a bit strange given they knew we were going so didn’t feel very welcoming to start with. Pre ordered breakfast I ordered muffins with poached eggs, ham and hollandaise but at breakfast was presented with my dish but told no hollandaise as I can’t get and couldn’t make, I wasn’t offered something else just presented with the dish. It is my favourite dish but the hollandaise makes it so I was disappointed. At the end of breakfast we were asked “same again tomorrow” I said yes hoping by tomorrow she would have hollandaise if she knew I was ordering it again but no it was the same and no explanation this time. On the last morning the owner started cleaning the other tables with cleaning spray whilst we were still eating which got the back of my throat and gave us both the impression she wanted us to finish asap. Overall not a great experience and we won’t return or recommend.

My partner and I went to Richmond for a couple of days chill out before the rush of winter is upon us. I have horses and just needed some time out to recharge my batteries. West End Guest House is a lovely place to stay. We were met by Emma who could notave been more helpful. The room (3) was comfortable, well set out and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were amazingly soft. The bathroom altho small was ample foir us, supplied with toiletries etc, we didnt use these as we took our own. The b&b is a short walk into Richmond however we got a taxi. Ample parking too The breakfasts are really really good, first night we pre ordered the full English, however we couldnt finish it, next day we ordered a sandwich for y OH and poached eggs on toast for me. Cannot fault it at all. This is deservedly a 5* review from me

We have just returned from a three nights stay.brillant thanks to Emma and Mark! lovely comfortable spotlessly clean room and the best breakfast ever with so much to choose from.friendly hosts and nothing to much trouble.we will definitely be back

This is a perfect guest house. The hosts are so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was lovely, could not fault a thing! All the little extra touches just made this a fabulous stay. The house is immaculately clean. Free parking too, and just a short walk into Richmond. Breakfast was also great!

Fantastic guest house with very congenial, helpful and friendly hosts. I stayed en-route to Scotland with my motorbike. A special parking space was reserved for me on tarmac and not gravel. They made every effort to meet my Gluten Free requirements - and made an exceptionally tasty and filling cooked breakfast - that was GF! Assistance was also provided in getting a taxi in to the centre of Richmond as I can't walk far. The room, bed and bathroom were all 5star. A true nugget.

We stopped at west end house on the way up to Scotland, even in our short stay we were wowed by the rooms and setting. The couple couldn’t be anymore helpful and welcoming with excellent service! Would definitely recommend!

a very clean and quiet guest house , just a short walk to the town centre where you will find plenty to do. very friendly hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them . we stayed in room 4 which was very clean and tidy with great deco , king-size bed was comfortable we had a great sleep , bathroom was a good size with shower . a pre ordered breakfast was first class with good quality products . next time we want to visit Richmond we will definitely stay here again 10/10 also great position for walks along the river .

What a lovely bed n breakfast. Hosts Emma and Mark were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had room 4 which was lovely, the on suite was beautiful, shower was excellent. Breakfast was spot on, couldn't fault it and a choice of options too. Plenty of private parking at the property which was great. only a 10 minute walk into the market square, plenty of bars shops and restaurants to choose from. Was a pleasure to stop at this lovely home.
