San Barbato Resort Spa & Golf

I cannot express just how happy my girlfriend and I were with our stay here. The resort feels like something straight out of Dubai, with modern and SUPER CLEAN finishes. The rooms are large and extremely comfortable, and there are many eating options to choose from. But the true gem of the resort are the staff. Each and every one of them were welcoming, friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay feel like one of the best we've ever had! I cannot recommend this property enough..

Historically, Basilicata hasn't had much in the way of choice for contemporary high quality accommodation, so San Barbato is a welcome addition. If you only had time for a couple of nights and wanted to experience a great resort with amazing food then you'll be hard pressed to find a better choice than here. The hotel itself isn't large with around a couple of dozen rooms in each of the buildings, yet the facilities, such as the huge pool are as if they're designed for a hotel with hundreds more rooms. This means that it never feels crowded even when the hotel is full. There is a lovely spa area too with an array of steam rooms, a sauna and experience showers. It's a nice area to unwind in and if you're feeling more active then there's a well equipped gym too. The rooms have the same distinctive style as the rest of the property, although I would note that given that it's only been open for a few years or so, in some aspects it seems to be ageing somewhat prematurely so perhaps needs some extra care and attention in places to prevent it from becoming tired before its time. The air conditioning in our room could have been quieter too, but these are relatively minor *******. The quality of the food offering is outstanding. The breakfast comprises either a savoury selection of cheese, bread and cold cuts or the sweet option of four different pastries all made in house to standards that would put many Parisian Palace hotels to shame. Both the ingredient quality and execution is top notch. For dinner you have the choice of what is probably the world's best pizza (Franco Pepe) or Don Alfonso (see separate review) which is a sister restaurant to the legendary 2* Michelin Don Alfonso. The restaurant here very deservedly has a Michelin star in its own right too. The same attention to detail and lightness of touch is evident as well as some of the Don Alfonso signature dishes also being included on the menu. The price point here is great value with a four course menu coming in at less than EUR 100 a head. All of the staff have a great attitude and really want to ensure that guests are happy and enjoying their stay. They are proud of the product and as a guest you can really feel this sense of local pride. All in all a great resort which offers everything from relaxing by the pool to top class local cuisine, it's got every base covered and it's less than a 2 hour drive from the airport so if you're after some Italian hospitality where everything is under "one roof" then San Barbato is the place to go.

This is our last evening in the San Barbato Resort where we spent 6 nights. This is a great place to be. The hotel is brand new and very confortable. There is a huge and beautiful swimming pool. The fitness is very well equipped with brand new Technogym devices. We had diner at the 2 restaurant Bellavista and the star Michelin Don Alfonso. Both are top quality restaurants. Don Alfonso Michelin star is well deserved. The breakfast is great, the only negative point is that it is served on the North side terrasse so a bit cold in the morning. We foreigners from the North part of Europe we do visit South Italy to enjoy the sun. Why do you not open your great panoramic South Est terrasse in the morning ? A great place and a great team, keep the momentum ! The french of room 109.

Ho usufruito della SPA per un addio al nubilato molto intimo: la collaborazione e professionalità della signora Lucia, è stata preziosissima per poter organizzare al meglio un momento di benessere esclusivo e ricercato. Ci ritorneremo.

Abbiamo preso un pacchetto completo che comprende spa, pernotto e colazione, e la cena nell’eccellente ristorante stellato. Appena arrivati in questo resort siamo stati accolti benissimo. Personale preparato, professionale e gentile, ristorazione davvero magistrale, struttura degna di un 5 stelle. Spa stupenda, tutto curato nel minimo dettaglio. Ma la cosa che mi ha più colpita è stata la nostra cena, cucina a vista in un ristorante elegantissimo, piatti importanti e sapori unici. Personale ancora una volta preparatissimo e gentilissimo. Colazione eccellente: ci hanno portato una vasta scelta di cibo tutto servito al tavolo con 5 differenti varietà di pani e dolci SUBLIME!!! Che dire…vi consiglio di vivere questa esperienza almeno una volta e vi assicuro che ci ritornerete!!! 5 stelle meritatissime… A presto!!!

Ragazzi il mio livello di conoscenza della lingua italiana non è abbastanza sufficiente per descrivere tutta questa struttura. Se volete trovarvi in difficoltà e trovarvi confusi dalla perfezione di tutto questo posto dovete solo venire e provare tutto.

Posto stupendo, servizio eccellente e cura dei dettagli di altissimo livello. Dalla prima colazione, al pranzo e alla cena accoglienza e qualità impeccabili, in una cornice incantevole e con delle amenities di altissima qualità. Il personale è attento, gentile, veloce nel servizio,sempre disponibili ad esaudire ogni richiesta dei clienti, anche richieste molto personali e particolari. Al San Barbato si respira aria di lusso, con un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.

Personale gentilissimo e attento alle esigenze del cliente, location curata in ogni dettaglio, stanza molto bella, pulita e ben arredata, colazione super. Ho soggiornato presso questa struttura per due giorni con il mio compagno in totale relax, lontano dai rumori della città. Torneremo sicuramente.

La struttura offre dei servizi unici sia come confort delle camere che nei servizi del ristorante. Senza dubbio il miglior hotel dove organizzare dei soggiorni aziendali grazie al grado di attenzione che viene offerto, sicuramente unico e ineguagliabile. Un sentito ringraziamento a Domenico che ha definito tutto scrupolosamente con professionalità e precisione.
