Xbalanque

This was our first trip to Roatan, and we did a lot of research before deciding where to stay. We wanted to avoid crowds, and Xbalanque seemed perfectly situated for that. It didn't take long after we arrived to decide that we had chosen the perfect location for us. We were able to walk to the far end of West Bay Beach in about 15 minutes, and we could hail a water taxi at the resort's dock to take us to West End. Every time we went to either of those locations, we were so happy to return to the serenity of Xbalanque. The staff we encountered were all fantastic, from William who met us when we arrived (we got there later than anticipated) to Christopher who was our server at several meals. And of course I have to give a big shout-out to Mike, who was always on hand with a smile when we were ready to eat or order a round of drinks from the bar. He was a pleasure to interact with and helped to make our trip special. The grounds and facilities at Xbalanque are top notch. The restaurant, Lotus, is a beautiful space, and we enjoyed several meals there. The freshwater pool is amazing, and somehow we were often the only ones using it. We stayed in the Del Mar Suite and it was perfect for the three of us. We will definitely return to Xbalanque and will recommend it to anyone we know considering a trip to Roatan.

We celebrated our daughters’s 10th birthday in Roatan and had the pleasure of staying at Xbalanque Resort. This immaculate and secluded property sits on a private beach. The well appointed rooms are above and beyond. The food was perfection. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The owner, Patsy, was present and the perfect host. They made every effort to ensure we had a lovely trip…. Right down to a surprise birthday cake for our daughter. We will cherish the memories we made at Xbalanque forever.

The Xbalanque hotel is tip top notch. I love the art all throughout the hotel. The gym is nice with nice views. The pool is beautiful and a nice size as well as the hot tub. They even have a very nice gift shop which is where I purchased a new nude bathing suit and a cute long Moo Moo and some earrings. The ocean views are breathtaking any time of day. The staff are so helpful, patient, social and so nice.

We had an absolutely lovely experience at Xbalanque. The place is immaculate and the quiet secluded beach and pool was just what we were hoping for. Patsy was a fantastic host and made us feel comfortable the whole time. The Lotus restaurant food was delicious and they were super helpful to point us to water taxis to go to West End and West Bay for snorkeling as well. We stayed in the Sun suite which was spacious, clean, and true to its name full of sun. Cant wait to come back!

Amazing beach front resort with the friendliest staff on the island. Great food, lovely wines, fantastic beach & dock that are peaceful & well maintained. Felt like we were staying at a friend’s place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Highly recommend either Heliconia or any of the beach front rooms.

Just returned from an 8 day stay. Property is beautiful and what an amazing staff. The food was exquisite and the chefs were so accommodating in preparing us a unique meal with our catch of Wahoo and Tuna. This quaint place is more like staying with family. So sad to leave cannot wait to return. Texas Girlie Girls.

We traveled with friends in June of 2023 and had a very memorable experience at the Xbalanque Resort. the furnishings, staff, food and other amenities were tip rate! The Resort picked us up from the airport where we were met by the owner in front of large mahogany doors that led into the tastefully furnished foyer with with cozy chairs, teak tables and unique art pieces. The Lotus Restaurant, overlooking the gorgeous pool and spa, provided of our delicious meals and the bartenders whipped up unique cocktails for us. Our well-appointed two bedroom/two bath suite had plenty of room and included a sitting room, dining area, bar and a beautiful full-sized kitchen with a magnificent view of the Caribbean Sea and beach. The sunsets were stunning. Each bedroom had an entire wall with built-in mahogany wardrobes. The bathrooms had double sinks and plenty of shelving for towels and toiletries. The Resort arranged all of our on-site massages, golf outings, boating, fishing, snorkeling trips, zip-lining and rum tasting trips! We stayed busy, but enjoyed relaxing on the beach, sitting on the pier and lingering at our dinners under the stars while listening to various music artists. This is definitely a place you cannot miss.

Heard about Roatan from friends who travel extensively. They raved about a lesser known destination that offered great snorkeling/diving, fishing, zip-lining, food , safety, and lush accommodations. Xbalanque Roatan provided all that...and more. This exotic boutique hotel is nestled away from the more crowded areas and easily accessible from the airport where they greeted us. A short 10 minute walks gets you to the tourist bars, beaches, and restaurants...did this once just to say we did. Had no desire to return there since Xbalanque had everything we wanted without the crowds. Water and land taxis are quickly summoned. Patsy the owner made our party of 9 feel at home from the time of arrival. The rooms are tastefully decorated, large and the layout of the resort was easy to navigate. ..even after a few too many Monkey Lalas made by Randy the bartender. The grounds were manicured daily. Some of our crowd played golf nearby and some had massages at the resort...both arranged by just asking. The Lotus restaurant and bar was highly rated and we ended up eating most all meals there...couldn't be better! First class food and great service. Janine the manager was the sweetest...so eager to please us all. After a week of being relentlessly spoiled by the staff and the relaxing atmosphere, we returned to our normal lives. But we all agreed to return again soon. Xbalanque is a treasure!

If you are looking for the perfect spot to vacation away from the crowds and in one of the most beautiful places in the world, consider visiting Xbalanque Resort. Owned by a couple from the US who planned it with the utmost of care and friendliness, the owners are often at the resort and give it a family friendly atmosphere. Incredibly, it has capacity for only 42 guests so there is never a time when you feel crowded, rushed or cramped. The rooms are luxurious and large and have all of the amenities of the luxury hotels without the hassle and bustle. There is ample seating room in the dining areas, adjacent to the hot tub and the infinity pool. One of the highlights of our trip was the excellent staff overall, especially those that ran The Lotus restaurant. These workers are like family and get to know your name if you stay there for more than two days. They are kind and caring and the food is exquisite and we mean anything you order. Not one less than excellent meal (many of the recipes were concocted by the owners!). On the beach there are areas with shade or with direct sun for all sunworshipers. Over the ocean there is a walkway to a covered deck over the sea behind the resort where the marvelous ocean breezes can keep you cool even in the heat of the middle of the day. Many excursions are available for all including snorkeling, deep sea fishing and just meandering around the beautiful island of Roatan itself. We had never been to this island, but it has now become one of our favorite vacation sites as you might be able to glean from this review. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, Xbalanque gets a 20 from us. Don't miss a chance to visit this as soon as possible.
