Hotel de Lange Man Monschau Eifel

This hotel was warm and welcoming from the minute we arrived. The reception girls were great and a welcome cocktail was proved as a gift. We regularly drive from the UK to our place in Austria and this place was a first for us as a stop over. Lovely room(11) a wonderful buffet dinner(beef, Salmon, pork, pasta and more) and a fantastic salad bar. Cheap beer from the bar and delicious house Mosel also at exceptionally low prices. We booked half board and it was certainly worth it. The only thing some people may not like is the open plan toilet and shower in the bedroom, admittedly behind glass, but some may feel a lack of privacy. But after 34 years of marriage-it didn’t bother us🤣. We will happily return to this little gem.

Stopped for one night whilst on a motorcycle trip. Lovely hotel with a nice mixture of traditional and modern interior. Staff spoke good English and were helpful at check in and the bar. Room was clean, spacious and nicely furnished. Meals were a slightly limited buffet choice, however food was good quality. Off road parking adjacent to the hotel was good for the motorbike though I doubt you would have concerns about parking nearby in this very quiet attractive village. Would happily stay here again and maybe use as a base for a few days to explore the beautiful surrounding area.

You will be welcomed here with a welcome cocktail. Friendly service. Rooms spacious and clean. Box spring, Mattress was too soft for me personally (back problem), but my husband slept great on it. Large television. They are going to renovate the rooms. Bathroom also spacious and tidy. Cleaning is not daily, but there is a list at the reception where you can indicate that towels need to be changed or other cleaning wishes. There is an option for dinner buffet, we didn't do that so I can't say anything about it. Breakfast: superb!! You can't name it or it's there.. various types of sandwiches, meats and cheeses, sweet, yogurt with various toppings, fruit, egg and bacon. Various juices and coffee machine with various coffee options. And finally... Bubbles!!!!! Super nice a glass of bubbles with your breakfast! In the evening you can sit in the bar or go bowling downstairs. There is also a Spa area, but unfortunately we did not use it. The next time!!! Small minus ... the rooms on the 2nd floor are not accessible by elevator !!! So indicate when booking if you are disabled and they will take that into account.

The nice things first: The welcome was nice. The hotel is very clean and hygienic. The breakfast buffet was very good. The town is absolutely pictoresque with a gorgeous church right across the street. Wi-fi was very decent. As for everything else: when we had to ring the hotel to inform them we were running late, we had to call three times before somebody answered the phone. When we arrived the reception was closed and I do mean CLOSED with an iron curtain. We had to go to the bar to get the bartender to man the reception. The rooms are adequeta but no more that that. The beds are narrow, neither the duvet nor the pillows were very good and the mattresses are too soft. The showers are so narrow you need to go through the doors sideways. And the light switches are an absolute mystery - every time you needed to turn on a light, you had no idea which switch would be correct. But by far the worst of all: the hotel is LOUD!! You can hear a mouse fart on a different floor. If somebody talks anywhere in the hotel, you can hear it clearly in my room. When people walked up and down the stairs, it sounded like a stampede. My radiator - although completely turned off - made loud metallic clangs at random (very efficient if you need to stay awake!). Everything outside the rooms is tiled without a hint of carpet, so every single sound is reflected, and all doors have absolutely zero insulation or rubber padding, so all sounds in the entire hotel reach your room without even having to try. I hardly got a minute's sleep the first night. The second night I was wise enough to use powerful ear plugs. When we wanted to check out the last morning there was actually someone at the reception(!) A guy was working on a computer. I said: "Hi, I'd like to check our of room so-and-so." "I need four or five minutes." Oh, do you?!?! Well, then I will just wait until you feel like interrupting what you're doing to deal with a customer, who might be in a hurry to catch a train for all you know! That's just downright rude and it settled my valuation at 2/5. The price was a ridiculous €200 a night. I would say half that amount would be a fair price. I'm definitely not coming back.

Das Haus riecht überall unangenehm muffig, wie kaltes Fett in der Pommesbude. Das Buffet bot kaugummiartiges Lammfleisch. Dafür kein Essig & Öl zum Salat. Anstatt des gebuchten Candle-Light Dinners wurde nur das Buffet angeboten. Die in der Buchung angekündigte Flasche Sekt aufs Zimmer gab es nicht. Bowlingbahn war billiger, weil sie nicht funktionierte (zählt nicht richtig..was hat man dann von billiger?). Dafür kann man eine uralte Minigolf-Anlage unter dem wilden Rasen erahnen. Massagekraft ist seit längerem ausgefallen, da schwanger (ist scheinbar 9 Monate keinem aufgefallen). Gibt es also auch nicht. Die Angaben auf der Webseite stimmen also nicht, was das angeht ich würde das Irreführung nennen. Woher die 4 Sterne und die Preise kommen, steht für mich in denselben. Kritik dann auch besser nicht beim Personal äußern. Und am besten in holländisch, da Deutsch hier die Zweitsprache zu sein scheint. Man bekommt die Antwort: "Chef nicht da, was kann ich dafür?" Nunja, was kann der Gast dafür? Anrufen wollte man den Chef auch nicht und irgendeinen Verantwortlichen gab es auch nicht. Sehr unprofessionelle Reaktion. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Dit hotel is zeker geen 4 sterren waard zoals men vermeld .Wij hadden het wandelarrangement genomen met 2x heerlijk diner of buffet ,ontbijt ,lunchpakketje ,welness en welkomstdrankje inbegrepen . Helaas was de welness niet beschikbaar , ook van een heerlijk diner was geen sprake ( hiervoor hadden we dit hotel gekozen ) ,enkel het buffet , uitgedroogd vlees in dikke sausen .om 1945 komen ze al vragen om het dessert te nemen omdat ze het restaurant om 2000 gaan sluiten , precies een internaat .Als je vraagt waarom zo vroeg , dan krijg je als reden ,personeelstekort ;en we kunnen ons niet in vier delen want we moeten ook de zaal afruimen ,alles klaarzetten voor het ontbijt , de bar doen ,de receptie ,...maar ik heb wel voor dit alles betaald ....het voelt een beetje als oplichting .We hebben dit gemeld ,maar er was niemand die hier iets kon aan doen , de verantwoordelijke was er niet , het enige dat we konden doen was het tevredenheidsformulier invullen ,wat we ook gedaan hebben .Helaas niets meer gehoord . De kamer was wel in orde , ruime badkamer en een terras ,maar we hadden hier dan ook voor bijbetaald .

Mooi opgeknapte kamer, zeer vriendelijk personeel. Heerlijk eten, goed bed. Personeel deed er alles aan ons thuis te laten voelen. De omgeving was er prachtig. We maakten twee rumoerige avonden mee, prive feestje in het dorp. Kon het personeel niets aan veranderen, maar ze deden er van alles aan om het goed te maken voor ons. Kortom, wij hebben er een paar geweldige dagen gehad.

Alles ist ordentlich, die Leute sind nett, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt nicht. Frühstück (auch sonntgs) nur von 8 - 10 Uhr mit vielen abgepackten Zutaten, Abendessen von 18 bis 20 Uhr (nur Buffet), Sauna ab 16 Uhr kostet extra.
