We had a lovely 2 night stay at Window on Rome. Located right across the river into Trastevere, it is affordable while still being walkable to old Rome. The owners were very friendly, and they let us leave our bags until the room was ready. There was a small elevator and large stairs. Nearby are a couple of cab stands. It is on the main street, but we did not hear the outside street noise. There is also a nice rooftop you can check out the view and spend time up there. Great restaurants nearby too. The room was clean, comfy bed, a safe, fridge, plenty of coffee, and lots of snacks provided. 2 waters included, but soda and beer costed extra which were reasonably priced.

I cannot praise the proprietors too highly for the quality of the stay we had at Window on Rome. The room was very tastefully decorated and more spacious than rooms we've stayed at previously in Rome. The Super King bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was also of a good size with modern fittings. There was a coffee machine with pods & snacks that were replenished daily at no cost. There was a small mini bar that was very reasonably priced. The property is perfectly placed for exploring all the main city sights and also close to many great bars and restaurants in Trastevere. If ever we plan a return trip to Rome we will certainly try and return to this little haven of peace.

Great location, nice and clean rooms. Amazing hosts, very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast not included but a lot of restaurants/bars/minimarkets nearby if you want something to eat in the morning. No disturbing sounds from outside. Would choose this place again if we are returning to Rome!

Text: I would only recommend this lodging for its location in respect to restaurants, transportation and banks. When I arrived, I was met with a disapproving reaction after the “private transfer” from the airport was not present when I arrived. This was not a free transfer and I was expected to pay $55 but when I exited the airport, the driver was not present with my name held-up at 7:45am, as promised. I waited and even called the driver but there was no response so I decided to take a minivan taxi. That was the first inconvenience and when I arrived the owner seemed to be upset which may have unintentionally geared towards me but not the first impression that I would have liked. Secondly, I was provided 5 keys for access to the building. However, for two of the doors, i had a problem exiting and entering. Simple communication could have fixed that problem as I never expected that that would have been an issue, but clearly, I may have been the first individual that had this problem. Regardless, her reaction was not normal or acceptable for a proprietor of this type of business. Let me continue, I went out and returned late and found myself not able to enter one the doors to get in, I didn’t even know that the door was there since it was not visible to me during the morning and early afternoon. I struggled and was panicking and clearly it seemed that I may have been using the incorrect key but there were also two or three different locks on the door. I tried calling inside but I had no other way of reaching the owners. I understand that It was late, and I am very respectable were I would never try to interrupt someone at that time, but I had no other option since it was my first night at a strange location. I rang another door and it seemed to be the owner. She opened the door and I was surprised at her harsh and disgruntled behavior. I was shocked. She proceeded to reprimand me about the time, which apologetically, I knew was late, but regardless, it was not an acceptable behavior for an owner of a guest lodging. Something worse could have happened which affected my access to the building and this is the behavior that I would have been met with?? Or not met with since I wasn’t provided any other way to contact owner in the event of an emergency. The front desk is closed at a certain time, probably around 5 or 6pm. This has never happened to me before, and I have stayed in many different places and was never met with such poor and disrespectful behavior from a host, but I also understood her for inconvenience. However, in such a business, you have to know how to better react to the highs and lows and it seems like she doesn’t want to be bothered too much. This can be a teachable moment for myself included. This woman does not know or maybe preemptive ideas of who she thinks that I am affect her behavior toward me . Not professionally. Cleaning in the rooms occur in the mornings and make sure to put the “no disturb sign” if you sleep past that tim

I was so happy I chose Window on Rome. This is a great place to stay and in a great location. The hosts are very welcoming and the rooms are very clean. The views are nice from every room. My wife and I stayed here for a night while we were traveling and this was a great price for the amenities. You can walk across the street and you are in the heart of trestevere. Highly recommend for a great value for a short stay.

We loved our stay at Windows on Rome. We had the Trestavere room with a great view. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the hosts provide everything you need, including starter snacks. There is a washing machine in the unit and space on the roof to line dry your laundry. The roof is also a lovely spot to watch the sunset. The lift works smoothly and the hosts are helpful. The location is perfect, within walking distance of major sights and others to be discovered, as well as several good restaurants and a very welcoming cocktail bar. Happy to recommend for any trip to Rome.

Very spacious and immaculately clean bedroom and bathroom in a wonderful location in Trastevere. We loved it, and the views were so pretty. They don't offer breakfast but free room snacks were really nice and well selected. I would say this is for people who want to stay in an outstanding location and want big and clean room bathroom, but are also okay with house rules - after all this is someone's apartment converted to a small guesthouse. Their cleaning hours are 10-11 or noon, I forget and they won't replace all towels daily, which work for us as we try to be cautious of using these diligently when we travel.
