Super location and an amazing value for the location on the beach in a very historic and unique city. The hotel is amazing and the price anywhere else would be three times more. With a castle and ancient church literally across the street and the beach a short block away, you will not find better accommodation!

The hotel is great! The room is extremely comfortable and has wonderful accommodations. We were looking for a place to rest and recharge and this hotel was just what we needed. The staff were also very helpful and super pleasant. Our experience in Spain wasn’t always great, but this hotel really changed our minds. I highly recommend this as a great base to explore the region.

Fanny on the front desk, Angela in the Embarcadero Restaurant and Maria, part of the breakfast staff were so friendly, and welcomed me practising my Spanish. Ready, eager and available to assist. The hotel was always clean and sanitary and in a great location, right on the beach. I slept with patio doors slightly open to the gentle swishing of ocean waves. Having a personal terrace overlooking the pool and ocean was exquisite. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is gorgeous and right on the beach; beautifully maintained common areas, pool and spa, and the rooms are gorgeous- especially the amazing shower. Breakfast includes made to order eggs and CAVA!!! Big fluffy bathrobes, large rooms, ( ours had a huge patio overlooking the beach)- great staff. We have stayed in other hotels in the area before, but this is just a stellar standout. The restaurant "Embarcadero" had great food, especially the shrimp salad with mangoes and avocado. THIS IS IT!!!

The staff were very helpful from the initial reservation request thru the accommodating our travel plans. The rooms are very comfy & quiet, the A/C is cold and the Wi-Fi is fast! Breakfast was delicious & sumptuous. Also used the pool, the beach, and the rental bikes. Location is perfect! Honestly, there are not any negatives to this hotel!

Visiting friends in the region and we stayed here on recommendation. Rooms are large, clean and full of light. Staff are super friendly and the location means you can hit the beach or retreat to the pool when it gets too hot. All restaurants are walking distance. It should be noted it is a $EU60 trip from the airport. We also had a sea facing room but were sharing a balcony with the room next door and could hear them when they were awake and could smell all their cigarette smoke too. Apart from this we couldn't fault this place.

Lovely hotel located on the sea front in Rota. The town surrounding the hotel is made up of whitewashed houses and narrow streets. We booked for ten nights two years ago but had to postpone due to Covid closure. We chose not to cancel because we felt it would be unfair on the hotel due to the effect Covid was having on their revenue. The hotel kept our booking but we were surprised when they charged us an extra 399euros as a supplement for changing the date by a week! We arrived in Cadiz by coach but we’re shocked to find that the hotel is 60 kilometres away from the station. The only transport available to us was a taxi costing 60euros! We booked a superior room but were surprised again when we discovered that we were, in effect, sharing a balcony. Our sea view turned out to be half a sea view and very cramped. The people next door could hear every word we were saying and we could hear them too! We asked to change our room but was told by the receptionist that the balconies were all the same and they wouldn’t change us. That wasn’t true because all the other rooms except the four in the corner of the hotel had balconies which were not shared. To add to this, the people in the next door room had the cheek to complain that we were talking too loudly! This, in addition to the fact that we could not use the beach due to high winds, the town was dominated by bars with not many restaurants open, the only way of getting in and out of rota was by taxi ( the ferry to Cadiz was nowhere to be seen!), was the final nail in the coffin. We decided enough was enough so we left after three nights. It was a bit like Hotel California because the only way to the nearest station ( we do not have a car) was by taxi costing 37euros! The staff on checkout were very helpful and did refund part of our supplement ( but not our original charge!). When we explained our reasons for checking out early, she told us that the superior rooms came with smaller balconies, whereas the other rooms came with larger balconies! Unbelievable! Had we known we would, of course, saved ourselves money by booking a smaller room with a large balcony! After two years we were looking forward to a great holiday in a spectacular hotel with a beautiful location. Disappointingly it proved not to be the case.

El Duque de Najera is perfect!! This hotel has the best location in Rota. I love that you can walk to so many great restaurants and shops. It's also right beside the marina. The hotel itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean. The hotel restaurant is wonderful and the staff friendly and helpful. I really can't think of any negatives.
