Crotchety old woman runs people off on tours on the sidewalk. I would not recommend staying here. If she is hateful to people in the sidewalks I can’t imagine how this lady treats the guests that stay there. Location is everything but attitude is.

Cute little Inn with a very accommodating staff. You couldn't ask for a better location while in Salem. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Checking in and out was so easy. We managed to get a parking spot up front and that was extremely convenient. Breakfast in the morning in the courtyard was really nice. I will stay here again.

I stayed with my family of 5. The room looked clean but smelt terrible of urine. I had asked for another room but was told none were available. I had to leave all the windows open throughout my stay, sirens and street noise all night long. Good location but it was unpleasant and I can’t recommend.

The Salem Inn West House was the perfect place to stay for our visit. It is centrally located, everything is within walking distance, museums, shops, restaurants. From the moment we walked in the staff was so friendly. The Inn is so clean. Our room (18) was so bright and spacious. The bathroom was sparkling clean and the shower was FANTASTIC! I would recommend this hotel without hesitation!!

My husband and I stayed in the main house we also managed to get street parking in front of the Inn. Our stay was at the end of July beginning of August. I loved this room/bathroom it was clean and spacious. This hotel is also within walking distance of so many amazing places to eat and explore! We had questions about the best way to travel into Boston one day. The front desk directed us to the commuter train. Which was within walking distance too! We had an Amazing visit!!!

My husband and I recently stayed in Room 2 of the Peabody House building. The house is filled with character, and despite its age, had all the amenities needed for a 4 night stay. Free parking, complimentary breakfast, to name a couple. And don’t get me started on the comfortable king size bed and efficient A/C! It was extremely hot and muggy during our stay, but we were comfy in our suite, and slept so well after long days of exploring Salem. The bathroom is huge with a walk-in shower, and our room included a nice kitchenette. We noticed that there were other guests in the building, but we never heard them. The Salem Inn is walking distance to almost anything. We only drove our vehicle twice in four days. I would stay here again.

Our stay was delightful! The Inn's location is perfect, right next to the pedestrian mall with its array of restaurants and shops. We found our room to be both comfortable and spacious, complete with a superb walk-in shower. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful; my spouse, who prefers to avoid stairs, received excellent guidance on the easiest ways to get around the inn. What stood out for me, however, were the thoughtful extras—the complimentary happy hour wine in their charming courtyard, the sherry offered in the parlor, and the included breakfast. Although the breakfast service was a bit irregular, it was complimentary, so it's hard to complain. Overall, a great stay!

Beautiful home, many original features remain with plenty of modern security and convenience upgrades that don't detract from the history. Spacious rooms, true to the period, VERY clean, wonderful bathroom upgrades. Room on second floor, dumb waiter use for luggage transportation was a wonderful and welcomed convenience most B&Bs don't have. Evening Wine Reception for guests, back patio garden extremely inviting and relaxing, nice breakfast offerings. Complimentary parking, walking distance to everything, didn't even need the car. Booked last minute, no hassles, no upcharges. Staff very friendly and personable. Extremely helpful with "What To Do and See" in town. Definitely going back!

We spent three nights in a deluxe room at the Curwin House at Saelm Inn, in the Deluxe Room C21- the Grand Turk Room- it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The room was really nice and the views were out of this world. Neighbors with Allison (ropes mansion) ? Yes Please! You really could not beat the location. The breakfast was served in another building about a block away, and the staff that was serving the breakfast was really sweet and super attentive. There was even a Sherry lounge in the hotel to relax after a fun day of exploring. There was private off street parking that was tucked away and that was really nice! Overall I really loved the experience here. However, I will say that if anyone is disabled in your party or if they need special accommodations for stairs etc. make sure that you keep that in mind/ let the staff know when making a reservation. The inns are comprised of old homes and the stair cases are a bit steep and twisty, as an able bodied person albeit clumsy person I even missed the steep step going to the breakfast area. Like I said that was not an issue for us but I could see that being an issue if anyone in your group is not able bodied.

Staying at the Salem Inn really gives you the full Salem experience. We got to stay in room 17, “The ******* Room”. Yes we did experience a few interesting things in the room and our EMF reader spiked a few times. It’s all part of the experience! We had a great time and can’t wait to go back.

My niece and I had the chance to stay in this historic location for 2 nights while we were in Salem!! Do not hesitate to book this establishment!! It is very close to everything (Witch House right across the street)!! We stayed in a Double Queen Suite on the 3rd floor. Our room was clean, bright, and inviting. We loved the fact that we had a little kitchenette with microwave, frig, stove top, plenty of utensils, plates, glasses, pot and pans, everything you would need if you want to prepare your own meals! The beds are super comfy, but tall. I am 5'2" and had to use the little step ladder that was next to the bed in order to get into the bed, but it was fun! Check in was very fast and efficient and even though we arrived about 1030 am, we were able to get right into our room!! Now remember there is no elevator, just stairs, but the dumbwaiter for the luggage is very handy!! The breakfast in the morning was pretty good and its very cozy as you are in the basement of the inn! I would not hesitate to stay here again if I ever visited Salem!! Thank You!!

I actually never made it there, had to cancel which was 6 months before our stay and they charged us $433 a one night stay because it was in October, we were staying Sunday through Wednesday which should have been $25 cancellations fee and was told when booking we could cancel for $25. So if you don’t want lied to and cheated on of your hard earned money please stay elsewhere. The Stepping Stone Inn is a wonderful place, if they hadn’t been booked would have stayed there again

We recently enjoyed a stay at The Salem Inn, and loved it. The inn is located just around the corner from the Essex Street shops and restaurants, in a historic building. We stayed in West House (there are two additional buildings), and our room was spacious and comfy. Everything was very clean, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Two out of three mornings we also had the nice breakfast that was included with the cost of the room. (If you're looking for a little bit of ghostly history, The Salem Inn offers that as well!) We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a spot in Salem, and would stay here again.

We decided impromptu to make a weekend of Salem as we were already in Peabody Friday for business related matters. We literally called in the middle of our dinner to make a reservation, and to check to see if there was even any availability left for the night. The front desk agent was super helpful from the get go and was able to book a room right away. This was our first time traveling to Salem,MA and we are from Maine, finding which house we were staying at was not easy, but the staff made finding it easier for us.They went up and beyond to stay on the phone, getting us to the West House, and letting us know where to park.I can not speak high enough of this inn The staff was so warm and accommodating. We stayed in room 14 ,and the room was literally so quaint,it felt like historic MA with a touch of modern convience.Granted,we were upgraded to a whirl pool bath suite,I did not end up getting to use it because I didn't want to wake any of the other guests with the sounds of the jets from the bath. The shower pressure was phenomenal. The bathroom was well-lit,and stocked. The bed was soft yet firm enough to accommodate 2 people with not so great backs. The decor was on point with the charm of the house. The front lobby of the West House houses some charming finches that are just the most darling little creatures, I loved chatting with the staff, and paying mind to these birds. It feels like a place where people actually care about their guests. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The breakfast room has the sweetest ladies, and the best food.We are unable to get our order in the night of reservation due to the link sent in text not working but the front desk stuff personally delivered our order in the morning to the kitchen staff. I can not say enough about this inn ,it literally was the highlight of an otherwise stressful evening due to the drive in.This Inn felt like family and home.

Stayed in the Curwen House. The location was great and close to walk to the square. There is parking included which was a selling point. The breakfast was subpar and located at the other location. The room was adequate but the shower smelled musty and like mildew. I enjoyed having a back door entrance ans a porch for the unit we stayed in. That was convenient and close to our car foe easy in and out trips. Would stay again.
