Our go to place when visiting family - comfort, beauty, farm animals and wonderful hosts! Gina and Darcy are wonderful hosts and make you feel right at home. Gina prepares awesome breakfasts that meet my (many) dietary restrictions - it's the only Inn I've been to where I don't have to bring my own food. I can't imagine going anywhere else. We'll keep coming back!!!

We enjoyed the perfect weekend getaway. The B&B was beautiful, comfortable and inviting. The food was delicious with homemade yogurt and granola was an added bonus. The first snow of the season was seen on the snow capped mountains from our room. The owners made us feel like long time friends not first time guests. We look forward to visiting again.

What a real treat to spend time at this magical establishment! Wonderful views, designated hiking trails, dog park, super clean suites, incredible cooked to order breakfast with local coffee roasters and cappuccinos!! The stars of the establishment, besides the most hospitable owners, are the adorable FARM ANIMALS! Oh my goodness! So much fun to watch and interact with them! Goats, cows, llamas, chickens and ducks! Super pet friendly here! We brought our 2 Springer Spaniels! We had a fabulous time and look forward to a return visit. We stayed in the upstairs Princeton Suite, which had spectacular views of the mountains, the adorable farm animals and a private patio deck. Breakfast today was homemade goat yogurt with all the fruit choices……my favorite were the grapes grown onsite! Hot and fresh caramel cinnamon rolls followed by huevos rancheros! The cappuccino menu was extensive! You will love it here!

Gina and D'Arcy, our hosts, were excellent chefs and we felt so welcome. They were simply delightful. I think they used farm fresh eggs in our breakfast!! Fresh veggies grown on site. We were just talking tonight about trying to make reservations for next summer because we had such a wonderful time in June and then I remembered that I hadn't even written a review. This is a wonderful place to relax. I highly recommend staying at the Mountain Goat Lodge! We loved their sweet dogs and we enjoyed our evening strolls. Oh, did I mention the beds? Ours was so comfortable and the bedroom was just beautiful.

I am home now writing this review wishing I was back at the lodge. My husband picked this choice for a two-day getaway from a pretty hectic life in Denver. I had my doubts since I am generally the planner, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. This will be our "go-to" place from now on when we need a break from city life for sure. In addition, we are hoping to get our kids and grandkids to consider a family gathering for all of us as well. Not only is there a very comfortable and lovely lodge, but the farm has a group of small campers and T-pee tents for reserving as well that allow for all levels of comfort and adventure and gatherings. But...let me share some details. The location is wonderful. Surrounded by some spectacular mountain and valley views, we were only ten minutes from Salida, CO. We had reserved the Princeton room which was just lovely and we could oversee the goat farm itself from our second-floor window as well the Rocky Mountains. The décor was warm and inviting and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was plenty of plugs for wi-fi devices and room for all the stuff we thought we had to bring with us. One of our greatest pleasures was just sitting on the bed in the evening watching the goats and lamas out our window. Gina and Darcy are great hosts and make wonderful breakfasts! What impressed us so much is getting to know other staff members as well who it was evident loved working at the lodge and sharing in the care of the animals and grounds. In town we saw a sign that said, "Live the Life you Love " and I think that is the atmosphere that is felt at Mountain Goat. AND THE GOATS!!! What a hoot! We had to laugh at ourselves because after only being there for a couple of days, we were convinced we were recognizing the personalities of the individual goats. We also fell in love with the farm-friendly dogs and a lodge cat who wanted to be admired but not touched! There are chickens and ducks as well and plenty of trails to explore. This is a working farm and a great opportunity for kids and adults and old folks like us to enjoy and even milk a goat. What fun !!!!!!!! Finally, Gina and Darcy are great hosts because they care that their guests enjoy themselves and it is evident by how they relate to every guest as an individual and the care they take in providing that comfort both physically and emotionally. My husband after a zillion years of not planning a trip-hit the jack-pot!

My wife and I stayed over for one night last week. We wish we could have stayed longer. Gina and D’arcy are delightful hosts. We had a wonderful time wondering the grounds and hanging out with the menagerie of animals. The breakfast that they serve you is scrumptious. They utilize the goats milk for cheeses and yogurt and serve you fresh laid eggs. It truly was a wonderful visit and we look forward to seeing Gina and D’arcy again. They are truly passionate about their place.

We stayed here for two nights while touring around Colorado. It was more expensive than the chain hotels, but the experience was worth it. The lodge is very quiet - at least until the rooster crows at 6:00. Our room looked out across the farm (and the goats and chickens), up the hills, and to the snow-capped mountains of the Sawatch range. Enjoying the view from the window or while having dinner on the balcony was a perfect way to unwind at the end of the day. One breakfast was a fritatta, the other huevos rancheros. Both were excellent.

Staying here was an amazing experience. The farm is so peaceful. The goats, especially the baby goats, are so cute! The views are amazing. We enjoyed having a glass of wine at the end of the day overlooking the pasture and mountains. The cheesemaking class was fun and informative. My husband keeps asking when we are going back.
