We had a lovely stay here. Ruwani is a friendly and accommodating host. We enjoyed talking with her. We liked the location in a quiet residential area. It’s less than ten minutes from town and 20 minutes from the train station. The bed and pillows were great. The bathroom was very large, and there are lots of shelves to hold your stuff. The shower was superb. Internet service was excellent in our room and elsewhere, and there are plenty of plugs for charging. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of hot and cold items. It’s served in a lovely conservatory. There is a beautiful patio and garden, but unfortunately we did not get to use it because of light rain during our stay.

This is an absolute gem of a place! Ruwani and her husband run this B&B with only 2 rooms in a manner that makes you feel like part of the family. Ruwani was so nice and friendly from the very beginning when making the booking and throughout our stay! Our room was very spacious (with a huge bathroom and a shower at least twice the size of what one usually finds!), extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Very comfy bed, which is probably not surprising considering that Ruwani's husband works in the bedding industry. There is so much attention to detail, which is also reflected in the great breakfast she serves, with an amazing presentation. We were able to park our car right in front of the house, which was an added bonus. And the place is within very easy walking distance of the centre of Salisbury, making it an ideal place to explore the city. Thanks Ruwani, for making us feel so welcome!

We have stayed at "The Old Rectory" a number of times when visiting family, and each time is first rate :) Stayed in "Annette's Room" which is spacious and very well appointed. Breakfast is first rate and Ruwani is a wonderful and attentive hostess. Thank you Ruwani for making it a " home away from home" for us :) Highly recommend.

We had such a lovely stay at the Old Rectory. Such a nice family run place to stay. Ruwani and her family plus the two beautiful Labradors make sure you have a special welcome. The room is nicely decorated, spacious and clean. A small amount of wear and tear on the woodwork. TV and selection of channels was good. There’s a kettle and a good selection of teas, coffees, Borders biscuits etc. The bathroom has a great walk in shower with two head options and an amazing selection of shower gels. The bed and pillows are super comfortable; we had a great nights sleep. Would like to get that bed in our home! Breakfast was so nice and such a lovely selection of food to choose from. There was a full English breakfast as well as a huge variety of hot food options. We went for the omelette which I can highly recommend. Lot’s of cereal, yogurt and a wonderful selection of fruit. Cafetière Coffee was really nice and the a good selection of other drinks. It was my wife’s birthday and even the table was decorated making it very special. I was a little nervous about how the parking would work out but it was fine. It’s a great location and it’s a short nice walk into Salisbury city. We enjoyed an evening stroll discovering the lovely buildings and seeing the Cathedral in a different light. A real treat. Thank you.

A wonderful stay within walking distance of the Salisbury cathedral, and a great base for visiting the area, including Stonehenge and Highclere Castle. On the other hand, we would have stayed here if there were nothing to see in the area-- it's an oasis, and one of our favorite stays anywhere. Our room was just lovely-- immaculate, beautifully decorated, with a modern rainforest shower and plenty of space. There's a full breakfast menu-- you can have Full English if you like, but plenty of options if you find Full English too heavy. And breakfast is served in a sun room that overlooks the garden. Our hostess and her family were gracious and welcoming. There's an old saying that you should treat your guests like family and your family like guests-- we felt like both.

Enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Old Rectory. This is a lovely house in a very quiet part of town, but only a short walk into the centre. We stayed in Annett's room, which is spacious with a huge and very comfortable bed - and the bathroom is just luxurious. Ruwani and her family were extremely welcoming and hospitable, and so thoughtful. They even thought to provide oat milk for tea in the room because I'd mentioned that my partner is lactose intolerant. The real highlight was the breakfast: Ruwani's cooking was amazing, and there was a huge selection of fresh fruits to choose from, even though we were the only guests that weekend. Definitely recommended!

We stayed at the Old Rectory on our way to Southampton from London - by way of Stonehenge! Ruwani is a very gracious hostess. Our room, Annetts, was spacious, quiet, immaculately clean. Breakfast was amazing!! We continue to rave about the pancakes! Best EVER! We had a little problem with our cab who was scheduled to pick us up in the morning. When they didn't show up the B&B owners called and got everything taken care of for us. Ruwani also made excellent recommendations for restaurants for dinner. Really wonderful people!
