Hotel Grand Samarkand Superior - A

조용한 곳에 위치한 전원 호텔의 느낌이다. 늦은 밤이 되면 호텔 문을 새벽까지 잠가두는데, 보안에 신경을 쓰는 나이 든 여행객에게는 안성맞춤 같다. 비교적 방이 좁은데 조용히 일하기 편하게 형광등이 달려 있다. 아침에 가볍게 부페식 식사를 할 수 있는데, 느끼한 것을 좋아하지 않아 달걀 후라이, 소시지 하나, 요구르트, 귤(당도가 높음), 빵 한 조각을 먹었는데 블랙 커피를 무료로 주문해서 마셨다. 호텔 직원들이 친절한 편인데, 영어를 잘 하지 못한다. 타쉬켄트행 6시 고속열차를 타러 나오기 위해 체크아웃을 하는데 하루에 4불씩 이틀에 8불의 관광세를 달라고 해서 놀랐다. 차 시간에 늦을 것 같아서 일단 주고 열차를 탄 후 관광 가이드에게 바가지 쓴 것 같으니 그곳에 가서 돈을 받아 쓰라고 했다. 관광 가이드가 나중에 보낸 카톡을 보니 사마르칸트에서 정말 관광세를 받는 것 같다. 사마르칸트에서 숙박하는 사람은 하루 4불을 더 내야함을 알아두면 좋겠다.

we really enjoyed our short stay in this hotel. Staff was great (really enjoyed Umar at the front desk...but others were also great). Our room was nice and breakfast was really good. Location was also quite good and central to the city. I'd definitely plan to stay here again if traveling through Samarkand.

Nice local styled hotel, a bit old fashioned, with a sister hotel with the same name opposite. It has three levels with no lift. There is an indoor courtyard that some of the rooms face into. The rooms are a reasonable size with a couple of chairs. As a single I had a double bed. The bathroom has a walk in shower with no bath. There is good water pressure & plenty of hot water. There is Airconditioning in each room. There is a pool on the top floor and a sauna in the basement. The TV has a couple of English speaking news channels. There is free wifi which is stable but a little slow. Breakfast was included which had a good choice of hot & cold dishes. The staff are friendly and helpful. It would be a long walk to downtown but taxis are cheap. Nothing grand but all up a pleasant stay.

This is a wonderful hotel! Very clean, in the room you will find everything you need: coffee, tea, sugar, water. You have a bathrobe and the whole set of hotel cosmetics in the bathroom. Even though I stayed on the 2nd floor, the room is spacious and bright. Breakfast is good and can be served in the inner courtyard which is an oasis of beauty. The staff is very friendly and smiling! You feel like a family! I recommend this hotel!

Busy tour group hotel that was much less than expected in many ways Despite us being told you could walk to town It’s quite a way the centre of town and you will need taxis everywhere, esp if it is hot The rooms are comfortable but we were given an inside room with windows opening into the enclosed inner atrium so that it was very dark and the noise from the bus tour group guests talking in the atrium reverberated around and it was very loud. Others had rooms facing the outside which had more light but our friends, at least, were blighted with heavy cigarette smoke from the adjacent rooms despite them all being no smoking. The advertised restaurant was closed for guests except for the nights German tour groups were catered for. We other guests have to eat elsewhere. Fortunately two good ones were nearby and easy to walk to Breakfast is a disaster on tour group days ( most days) with food not replaced and very sp**** offerings if you arrive after the gannets at about 8.15. Instant coffee only unlike the other, cheaper, hotels we stayed in on the trip. No A** or money change , as advertised, but A**s nearby The swimming pool is freezing cold and the sauna needs to be booked the day before do it can be heated up All in all a big disappoin**ent for us

Lovely looking hotel with attractive courtyard and decor. Not well located but taxis to attractions are incredibly cheap , $1 to town, $2 to station . Rooms are lovely and beds super comfy , good aircon, WiFi a bit hit and miss. Very nice , and cheap, bar, beer $2 ,large vodka $1 . Breakfast restaurant is small but adequate for small hotel, lots of choice and items quickly replenished. Great coffee service, even if the coffee isn’t so good. Staff are so helpful. Bank within walking distance ( change as much as you can when you can as changing money is not easy generally ). There are no lifts over the 3 floors but no real problem and staff quickly sort luggage. Really enjoyed this hotel , would highly recommend.

This hotel is split in two sites on opposite sides of the road. My room overlooked the interior courtyard and was lovely albeit dark. The rooftop pool was closed during our stay sadly but I was able to use the indoor pool in the basement – which was intimate and private. I was left undisturbed! Staff were very friendly and the wi-fi was good.

A noi questa struttura, probabilmente la più datata tra le due che, sulla stessa strada sono contrapposte una di fronte all'altra, non è proprio piaciuta. Arredi abbastanza datati, la nostra camera aveva la serratura scardinata e hanno dovuto far intervenire il factotum perché oltre a non chiudere mandava in allarme il sistema di alert anti-intrusione. Tendaggi pesanti dappertutto e affacci interni che intristiscono la camera completano il quadro. La colazione, seppur abbondante in varietà per cibi sapidi tanto cari ai turisti del Nord Europa, è stata forse quella con la peggiore offerta di croissant biscotti ed altro da poter accompagnare al classico cappuccino, anche su questo avrei da dire, italian style. Probabilmente, anzi sicuramente, a Samarcanda c'è di meglio. A noi è capitato questo.
