My mom and I came down to San Diego for a mother daughter trip recently. She had a knee injury and required a wheelchair unfortunately, for our trip. We were originally supposed to be in a second floor room with air con which would have been hard for her to access. The manager Santi and another employee Steve took time moving the aircon unit to a downstairs room where she Wouid have easier access. Both arriving and leaving helpful employees helped us with our bags up and down the front stairs. We stayed in the annex with private rooms and loved the overall vibe of guests and employees. The kitchen and living room were cozy. The bathroom and kitchen were cleaned every day and kept spotless. Anytime we had questions or needs the staff were amazingly helpful. There’s also a WhatsApp group for the whole hostel which announces weekly BBQs, outings, and billiards matches. Lastly- the location was super close to downtown, tons of restaurants, the train station, restaurants in Little Italy, and Balboa Park (so many fun events there!). It’s a block for the legendary Saturday Litfle Italy farmers market. Great hostel for singles, couples, and family like us. Big shout out to the staff including manager Santi and all the hardworking staff we met: Steve, Priscilla, Adrianna, Ceyla, Kimberly, and Vito. 👏
