Hotel Maraica San Pancho

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This place has potential but the service is terrible. Also, their palapa rooms have not been maintained so when it rains (every night) the roofs leak. They're not very well protected from outdoor critters either. We found bugs (spiders and roaches) in our bed! On our last night, there was a super intense storm and we lost power during the night. The power wasn't back on yet when we left in the morning. The storm caused horrible roof leaks in both the rooms we had (paid extra for the nicer ones). It was so bad that the beds were soaking wet! Both rooms basically had indoor waterfalls! We have video of it but I wasn't able to upload it here plus it was pitch dark so it's not very good. There are no employees on the property after 6:00pm or before 10:00am. We didn't like that there was no one to call when we encountered problems. I called the office after we left and expressed our disappoin**ents and issues but it was a receptionist. I requested for someone to call me but I never received any response. If you stay here, be aware they lock down the property after all staffing leave at 6:00pm. We went to town and came back around 9:00pm and couldn't get back in!! We finally found a hidden opening in the back of the parking lot to get in (in the pitch dark - and it is EXTREMELY DARK at nigh). They said they forgot to tell us about that! HORRIBLE customer service!! DO NOT STAY HERE! IT IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE THEY CHARGE! Note: There is no A/C but we knew that going in. It was EXTREMELY hot, especially at night.

While visiting friends who were staying at the hotel, I was instantly disturbed when I noticed large foul smelling puddles everywhere in the street to the side of the property where I parked. My friends also noticed this. Overall, they were really disappointed with their stay, but I will let them complete the details with their own review. I asked some people in town about the puddles that never dried out even though there was no rain at all during our time in San Pancho. They told me that the hotel has a really bad sewage problem. Hopefully, unsuspecting guests and the town doesn't continue to suffer from the hotels negligence to deal with its sewage system in a way that doesn't mean sewage overflowing into the street.

Costumer service is poorly. They don’t make you feel welcome. The recrui**ent is not at the standards of their hotel rates. They should hired professional that know the field instead of hiring cheap labor.

If you’re looking for the perfect blend of sustainability in mind Maraica hotel is it! We LOVED our stay here, it’s the ultimate oasis for those looking to escape touristic crowds. A unique hideaway next to the beach. The rooms are spacious and airy with sounds of the ocean. the terrace area and restaurant outside is ideal for working remotely, hosting group events, retreat etc. .. at night it’s lit with fairy lights. Highly recommend dining at the restaurant too! Their farm to table dishes are so tasty and nutritious. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality, conscious stay in San Pancho.

Had such a lovely and relaxing stay at Mariaca hotel. First, I loved that it was an eco-hotel - they use solar power, reduce waste, compost and most of the food from their restaurant is grown in their farm or with local producers! Next, the room was lovely. With big windows and sliding doors, it felt like we were constantly connected to nature. Falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing. Waking up with the rays of light bouncing in the room. Swinging in the hammock on the balcony. It was so magical. Having the pool there was amazing for the hot days in the sun. And the beach, about a minute away was perfect. The restaurant was also amazing - they had so many great vegan options for every meal. Plus, having wifi there, I was able to work remotely. I would have like to have wifi in the room too, but not having it allowed me to disconnect, which was nice too. I highly recommend staying here. It's such a great place with a great eco-friendly mission!

My partner and I recently spent three wonderful nights at Maraica. The second we walked into the property, we instantly felt relaxed. The lush gardens, ocean views and palm-thatched rooves oozed tropical vibes. Our room was beautiful, with a simple tropical design, stunning ocean view, comfortable hammock on the balcony, extremely comfortable bed and pillows and a blissfully hot, high-pressure shower which isn't common everywhere in Mexico! The rooms don't have airconditioning, but this wasn't a problem at all. The design of the rooms and the ocean breeze keeps them cool, and there were ceiling and pedestal fans if we required them. The Wifi doesn't reach the rooms deliberately, to encourage guests to unplug and disconnect, and whilst it would have been nice to have, the forced time away from work and our phones was refreshing. The on-site restaurant Muvieri was an absolute highlight! They serve fresh, healthy food such as smoothie bowls, avocado toast, poke bowls and salads at a really affordable price. Usually, we prefer to eat outside of the resort, but we didn't want to miss any meals at Maraica they were so good! We spent our days doing yoga on the stunning yoga deck (mats provided), lounging by the pool which was never too busy, and watching the sunset over the ocean from our balcony. It really is a place to relax and recharge, and the a**osphere matches that. The sustainability initiatives at Maraica is what attracted us to the hotel and we were impressed with their environmental consciousness. The property is not only powered with solar power, there is also a strong desire to conserve power by removing unnecessary appliances such as air conditioners and televisions. Wastewater from the property is recycled and reused for the gardens. And you won't find a single-use plastic item anywhere. Bathroom products are organic, and locally sourced in refillable bottles. There are filtered water stations with glasses all over the property, eliminating the need for plastic bottles. And no styrofoam, straws or plastic cutlery is used in the restaurant! All in all, a relaxing and rejuvenating stay at Maraica. We highly recommend it.

I absolutely loved my stay at hotel Maraica! My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting San Pancho and it surpassed our expectations! The rooms were so charming, real tiki style look to them! The beds were very comfortable, and had a ton of pillows, which I love! They also had the cutest balcony with a hammock and a view of the ocean. The rooms were also surprisingly not super warm, they have multiple fans, which we used during the day, but no need for them at night. The facilities were also great. The restaurant had amazing food! I had the tuna tartar and tuna steak for suppers and the smoothie bowl and avocado toast for breakfast and they were all really good. The restaurant has wifi, but it doesn't reach the rooms. That would have been nice, but it was also nice to disconnect when not sitting at the restaurant. The pool was very refreshing to have and the hotel is a 1 minute walk to a beautiful empty beach. Would absolutely stay here again if I ever come back to San Pancho.
