Grand Marina Suites Santa Marta

The hotel was great. We had a two bedroom apartment that was clean, modern and very spacious. One bedroom had a king bed and the other had two twin beds. The balconies had amazing views of the ocean. We had a full kitchen and made breakfast most days. The hotel shares amenities with the AC hotel next door, so we had access to the gym, restaurant and pool. We were able to walk to everything, beach restaurants, shops and market. The staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Wow! I reserved the only room available for my 1 week stay in Santa Marta. It was a 2-bedroom apartment. The room was modern and new and even had a washing machine. I was upgraded to the 19th floor and had wonderful views of the sea and the town. The breakfast was tasty and the pool was nice as well. The building seems to house the Marriott, private residences, and the Grand Marina Suites. Top notch!

This is the best place in all of Santa Marta. It is tastefully designer furnished. I like all the little touches of a well-managed place, like little pouches of the local gourmet coffee in the well-equipped kitchen, the luxurious white cotton sheets, and the fluffy white towels. Everything is spotlessly clean. The front desk staff speaks some English and the manager who seems to be always on call speaks fluent English which is an absolute rarity in this town. I have stayed in Santa Marta for almost three months and checked out a number of accommodations. The swimming pool which is shared with the Marriot hotel is comfortably large for even more serious swimmers. If one does not want to leave the building there is access to the Marriot restaurant. But the place is only a short walk to the famous restaurant square Plaza de Novios. The supermarket Carulla, Colombia's answer to Whole Foods is just around the corner.

I would like to start by saying that my experience at Grand Marina Suites was nothing short of AMAZINGGGG!!! If you are coming to Santa Marta and want to know where to stay, this is your place! Location: The location was central and walking distance to everything. The grocery market was literally one block away, the mariner dock was one block away and the historic center was about 4 blocks away. Keep in mind that their blocks are very short in distance. My wife and I both felt safe here and never had a problem walking the streets. We felt like locals to a certain degree. Aesthetics: The apartment was modern, clean and spacious. Living room, dining area, separate bedroom and bathroom plus a full kitchen and laundry machine. Everything was well stocked (laundry detergent, glassware, and other essential dishes). Amenities: I purchased the in-room 60 minute massage which was so relaxing and convenient (as well as inexpensive). The pool and pool bar was one of my favorites. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was great and I definitely enjoyed more than once. I didn't get a chance to use the gym but it was nice and private. Staff: Couldn't have been any better in my opinion. I was able to communicate with them at any given time through What'sApp. They were able to assist me with booking the in-room massage, scheduling my shuttle to and from the airport, excursions, find local restaurants and directions to places nearby for sightseeing. They were so pleasant, spoke English, and make sure we were taken care of during our stay. The Only Con: I could hear kids crying on my floor because the hallways were small (not the apartment) so during my massage I was interrupted for a little. Overall: 5/5 for this property and experience!! I will be staying here whenever I decide to return to Santa Marta.

The suites are comfortable and spacious. The gentlemen at the front desk, Alexander and Robert, were phenomenal. The views are spectacular. A little loud on the weekend with our room facing the city of Santa Marta. Restaurant food is tasty. The Grand Marina Suites is worth ir . Los suites son cómodos y amplios. Los caballeros, Alexander y Roberto, fueron phenomenal en ser atentos y amables. Los views son espectaculares. Nuestro cuarto quedó al lado de la ciudad de SMR, y estaba un poco ruidoso el fin de semana. La comdia del restaurante es delicioso. El Grand Marina Suites vale la pena !

It was hard to leave this place! The condo was beautiful, we had a two bedroom with a full kitchen and it was immaculate. The patio was huge. It was an apartment meets hotel resort right next to the town center. The staff was very kind, continuously helpful and easy going. They really took care of us here! I will be back one day and definitely recommend. La vista, incredible. The pool is shared with the AC Hotel so you have access to the restaurant/bar and pool views! Thank you!

What a wonderful stay. The apartment was clean and very well maintained. The customer service was super. They responded to all our needs in a timely manner. I would definitely come back again. Thank you for making my first visit to Santa Marta a wonderful experience. Muchas Gracias!

The location can't be beat and views make this apartment desirable. But the hotel service availability is cumbersome for the business traveller and maid service wasn't well coordinated. Will update after next trip.
