Aris Caves

Staying here in Oia was the highlight our trip and was everything I'd hoped Santorini would be. Staff were wonderful. Sitting on the balcony/hot tub was bliss. Note the many stairs to get up/down. The pizza place at the top of the stairs was great!

Wow! What wonderful & unique accommodation. We were welcomed by both the Porter, who very kindly carried our 22kg suitcase along the cobbled streets & down the 100+ steps to our room and by Christina, the owner, who is just SO Lovely & Accommodating. Our accomodation had outdoor seating (table & chairs), Shaded Loungers, Sheltered/covered Hottub (the shelter was fab as the evenings were very windy), Bathroom with complimentary toiletries & towels, choice of pillows, indoor dining table & chairs, wardrobe with plenty hangers, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, safe and a fully equipped Kitchen with fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee pod machine, coffee percolator & everything you’d expect utensil & tableware wise. The room was serviced every day with fresh towels available as required. The room has air conditioning. Rooms 1-4 still have steps down to them but not as many as rooms 5-8. The steps could be an issue to anyone with severe walking problems, otherwise they are what provides the unique location & positioning within the cliff face of the island. Oia is a very beautiful town, full of shops, restaurants & hotels. There is a beautiful walk down 266 steps to the harbour where there are several fish restaurants. This can also be accessed by car. We also loved the 10km hike from Oia to Fira along the cliff top, over looking the villages & sea. The scenery is stunning! If you do this walk, either or both directions, you must stop at Confetti Boutique Bakery in Imerovigli. This belongs to Christina’s sister. We had such a wonderful breakfast that after our walk around Fira, we decided to return for lunch before hiking back. I would highly recommend a winery tour to sightsee the island while trying the local wine. We also loved the e-bike tour which allowed us to get off the main roads and cover off road terrain & sightsee further into villages, up the mountain & along the beach. Our favourite restaurants etc in Oia were, KooKoo (on the main road) for Breakfast, Lunch & drinks. Paradox (on the main road) for Thai & Chinese. Karma & Kyprida (live Greek music Sat & Wed) for Greek, Sphinx for more fine dining and Pitogyros for gyros (you have to wait on a table usually but it’s worth it!). Don’t hesitate to book this accommodation, it’s lovely & super clean, right in the heart of Oia!

Beautiful property very well maintained and looked after with beautiful scenery You will never get tired of it very clean and spotless Christina who is the owner was very welcoming and pleasant she prepared the transfer from and to the airport our flight was at 6 am, every thing was prepared for us to leave at 4:30 am ( felt sorry for the gentleman who carried the luggage all the stairs up) very highly recommended.

Fabulous Hotel. Perfect location in Oia. Amazing views across the Aegean seas, the Santorini sunrise from the rooms is spectacular. Rooms spotless and very comfortable. Also a bonus having a kitchenette and verandah with umbrellas. Lovely welcome bottle of wine. Christina the owner and manager helped organise our catamaran tour, porters , taxis etc and restaurant reservations. Highly recommended.

If you are going to Santorini this Hotel needs to be on your list The views from all the rooms and the private deck are second to none. It is truly awesome inspiring. The Hostess and owner Christina is an absolute delight and supplies you with great advice and recommendations about where to go and what to see. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very clean. The beds are fantastic. You receive a complementary bottle of wine from Christina's family vineyard 'Atlantis' which is exceptional. As with any of the premium Hotels in the Oia area you need to be prepared for stairs. There are a lot. The amazing porters do a ridiculous job getting your luggage up and down. They are machines. Be aware that many of the booking sites list that there is a pool. Small pools are available but only with certain rooms. If you are looking for a room with a pool I would recommend contacting Christina directly. It is an amazing experience and worth every cent. 10 out of 10.

Christina is amazing, was extremely helpful and professional. She has an amazing property and the location is too good to be true. We had an amazing time. She made our restaurant reservations, she gave us helpful tips.

This boutique cave hotel is amazing!! My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights while on our honeymoon. Christina, the owner, is an excellent host. She had a ton of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. She suggested we rent a car to explore the rest of the island and even though we were hesitant, it was the highlight of our trip. Very nice to get away from the crowds in Oia. The porter was helpful too. He carried all our luggage from the drop off point near the supermarket all the way to our room. Also, he took us from our room to the pick up point when we left as well. This is very helpful since there is cobblestone and lots of stairs when you first arrive and leave, of course. Rooms were kept very clean and cleaned very quickly. We would leave for maybe and hour for breakfast or lunch and come back and the room would be tidy. The rooms have an amazing view and although down the cliff side, they are quiet and peaceful from the main streets above. We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi and it was so relaxing and refreshing at the end of a long day of walking. Well worth upgrading if enjoy a place to wind down at the end of the day. We highly recommend Aris Caves if you stay in Oia and would stay here if we get the chance to visit again. Thanks to Christina, we had an amazing stay in Santorini!!

I cannot say enough positive things about Aris Caves. My fiancé and I stayed in the Xenia Apar**ent for five nights in mid-September 2022. First, customer service is exemplary. Communication with Christina was excellent. She promptly provided answers and guidance to my fiancé for all of our questions, both before and during our stay. She was so welcoming upon arrival. She even provided us with a complimentary bottle of wine and a dessert from her family’s business/bakery. The hotel’s porter was always available for help with baggage. All of the staff members went out of their way to be kind and accommodating. I can’t recommend the Xenia Apar**ent enough. This beautiful unit is comfortable and quite spacious, which was great for us since we were staying for several days. The shower set within cave-style walls was so neat. Evenings spent taking in the views on the communal patio area are now very treasured memories. We were pinching ourselves the whole time, amazed that this place was real and even better than photos. We also saw the stairs as a plus. Descending down to the hotel results in losing a lot of the noise from the streets up above. It really is a peaceful oasis just below the activity center of Oía. It was also great to have a very short trip up to the action any time we ventured up the stairs. And, it’s an easy way to get a little exercise in during your stay, ha! We had a perfect stay at Aris Caves. The location and view are absolutely breathtaking and the staff are extremely helpful. Oia can get very busy but Aris Caves remains a quiet respite from the chaos up above. We had the room with private pool and terrace which could not have been any better. Our only complaint is that we should have stayed longer! Would definitely recommend for a romantic getaway.
