Dhanlaxmi Apartments

A great place to stay. The family were so welcoming to me and I had a lovely breakfast of traditional Indian food every morning I was there. The apartment was lovely with spectacular views of the surrounding hills and a balcony to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. I stayed in 7 different places during my month long visit to India and this was my favourite.

We got to experience the best of Himachali hospitality first hand while staying here. Aunty and uncle are the sweetest, most loving couple who welcome you into their homes with an open heart and do their best to make your stay comfortable. The location is a little off from Mall Road (25 minute walk for those who want to, else 130/- for an 8 min cab ride, available on call). The locality is a peaceful, family friendly neighbourhood. There is a short walk of 50mtrs on level ground from the parking. The views from the house of the valley is also amazing. You will need to choose a room with a balcony to be able to see it, else the standard rooms will not have a view. Aunty made lovely home cooked food for us at extra charge, a great option if you’re tired of eating oily food outside. I also want to appreciate that uncle went out of his way to help us get a taxi to kalpa at a cheaper rate, as an alternate to the bus.

Our stay at Dhanlaxmi Apartments was nothing less than absolutely perfect. We were a family of four adults (including senior citizens) and a six month old infant. We stayed there for 5 nights. The hosts and their behaviour was a perfect example of “Atithi Devo Bhava” - which means “Guest is God” which is also the tag line of campaign in India to treat tourists as God and to develop a sense of responsibility towards our guests. They took care of us like their own family members. We also had traditional Himachali food with them - Palda made my aunty is my new favourite! And to top it up, the sunset from the top most room is to die for! In terms of location as well, they are just 1.5 kms away from the city centre. I would totally recommend this place to anyone visiting Shimla.

We had a excellent 3 nights stay in Dhanlaxmi apartments. The room was neat and clean, hot shower was very good and everything was very well maintained. The hospitality of the owners was excepcional and they helped us with everything and even washed our clothes! Ankur picked us up at the bus station at night and in the next day walked with us on a city tour (20min walk to city center). They serve authentic delicious home made food. Dhanlaxmi apartments is the perfect homestay in Shimla! 🤍

It was a stay for two days and overall it is nice to be with Uncle and Aunty. I would like to summarize it as: Budget Stay Amazing breath-taking view from the top Peaceful location Hosts are very nice (Uncle and Aunty ji) Good breakfast Clean Rooms Walking distance from Mall road (15-20 min) Also, Uncle ji helps with everything that you want to know about the place or any specific location like how, when, what etc etc. Both Uncle and Aunty are nice, welcoming, caring and sweet.

Very affordable and great place to stay, very near to mall road. Uncle is very friendly overall was a great experience. Rooms were clean and balcony had an amazing view. Place is very clean and well ***tained.

Best place to stay in Shimla. A budgetary stay with good ambience and well maintained Rooms. Food is delicious. Owner Uncle is so caring and helpful. Even Cab service was provided under Owner Uncle's Expense.

Amazing Apartment & fantastic stay in. Best hostel we ever had. Excellent Customer Service and very Deaf-friendly! They treated us as equal. I love this house because we felt like home. Definitely we will come back again!
