Cove Point Lodge

We rented a cottage for 2 couples. Our water view was spectacular. The kitchen had all we needed. Our only issues was the water pressure for showers meant only 1 bathroom in use at a time and the downstairs bed is noisy every time you move. This seems to be ongoing in #514 as others had wrriten about it in the notebook. The lodge is very nice and easy to walk to. We enjoyed some of the art supplies. Dinner was great. Breakfast is interesting.

Definitely the favorite get away along The North Shore. Fabulous rooms, all with a stunning view of The Lake. The staff are warm and welcoming. From the huge fire crackling in the lobby to the wonderful food or the sauna/pool to card games in the fish house, this is a slice of heaven at which you can release all worries and stress.

We were first timers at Cove Point but we will definitely be going back. We had a first floor room so had a walk out patio. Perfect view of the Lake. We didn't have huge waves but it was beautiful. We had a sunrise and a moonrise of a full moon over the Lake. It was so beautiful that I had to get up during the night to look at it. The whole Lake was shimmering and gorgeous. The staff was all so helpful and friendly. The Lodge is in a perfect location to enjoy anything on the North Shore-right in the middle. Be sure to check it all out before booking anywhere else!

For several years my family has come to cove point lodge. Shelly and Mike who work at the resort have been welcoming and friendly. The stay at the resort has been fantastic the one downside has been that the rooms have not been always cleaned. However,when addressing with the staff they accommodate your stay by changing your room

This is such a cozy resort. We love all the little things that make it feel like home! The big comfy couches in front of the fire place, the games available, DVD's to watch, coloring, the friendly staff, the fish house that has more games and wood burning stove, the fire pit and ingredients for stores, cookies in the lobby with free coffee or hot chocolate. It is all so welcoming. We love the proximity to great state parks and hiking the Superior Hiking trail. Or you can do the Cove Point loop which is under 6 miles and takes about 2.5 hours. My husband and I have been coming here for 12 or more years and even spent our Honeymoon here. Just love this place!

This was our first visit to Cove Point (CP). We stayed in the main lodge and had an amazing view of the sunrise/sunset over the water. Setting is absolutely incredible. Quick hike to nearby point was fun. Their pool and hot tub area was clean. We stayed 3 nights (Wed, Thurs and Fri) and there was never any one else in the hot tub, pool or sauna. CP is the perfect setting for a relaxing break. This will be our new go to place. For years we have stayed at a resort in Two Harbors – they have become very expensive even with their winter get away deals. Look at CP’s website for deals 30% off, 3 nights for the price of two. CP is close to Split Rock Lighthouse/State Park, Gooseberry Falls, Tettegouche State Park and about 1 hour to Grand Marais. You can also catch the paved Gitchi-Gami State Bike Trail right from CP.

Beautiful and serene stay on Lake Superior. We stayed in the main lodge and had an amazing view of the sunset over the water. Outdoor fire by the fish shack was nice and the smell of burning wood seemed to envelop the entire property. (which we loved) Quick hike to nearby point was fun. Staff was very helpful and kind. We would definitely stay here again. Shout out to Joe who was exceptionally friendly and helpful as well.

We chose to stay at one of the Lakeside cottages. The Bears Den, from the moment I walked in it, was like Heaven on Earth. Beautiful views, clean, firewood already cut for you, nice outside deck. The lodge lobby is also another bright spot. A Norwegian theme with coffee, water, movies, and even colored pencils, very well thought out! The restaurant and bar are attached to the lobby. Which gives you incredible views of the Cove and Lake Superior The food choices are perfect and the staff was amazing. I can't say enough good and I can't wait to return. Bravo Cove Point!

We are a family of 3, traveling with our school age child. We look for clean, convenient, and family friendly. We chose this lodge for it's beautiful location. This lodge is right on the water and walking around by the water was one of the highlights of our trip. My child really enjoyed the pool, the fish house (i think that's the name) where there are board games and such. We all enjoyed cornhole on the back lawn by the water. We ate at the restaurant for dinner two nights of our stay. The first time was wonderful service and food. The second time we ate there was a little different. Seated about 30 mins after our reservation time and food took over an hour to get and we were one of the last ones to leave. Food was good, but service like that puts a damper on the experience. Breakfast had lots of options, We tried the herring and Scandinavian offerings but not really our taste. We are foodies so we enjoyed trying anyway. We stayed in a lodge room, which was comfortable but small. A larger room is available for higher cost. My child loved that they had coloring pages and colored pencils in the lobby. She was able to color both nights at dinner and it was memorable for her. They offer smores each evening at no additional cost which we took advantage of and enjoyed. The property is absolutely relaxing and beautiful. We look back on it as a place we'd like to go back to. One con- their pool was highly chlorinated, so much so that it bleached our swimsuits. We travel often and swim a alot, and have never had this experience.
