Upon opening the door to our room we were greeted with mold growing along a swathe of the ceiling near the air conditioner outlet. This was obviously a problem since it was extending along the ceiling. A long streak showed where someone had tried to clean it off in the past but this mold was there to stay.
Another issue was with the hot water system not turning off. You press a switch near the door to turn it off and on but it must have been faulty as the only way to turn it off was remove the room key-card from the master switch.
Finally on the morning of check-out (thankfully) we woke up due to the foul smell of sewage emanating from the bathroom. The toilet was not blocked or anything, still we flushed it and ran more water down the pipes which seemed to help but this was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back.
I understand this was a budget hotel, which is why we booked, and had to stay (we were on a budget) however we could not recommend it to anyone for these obvious health risks.
These issues could not have been unknown by the hotel as they would have been obvious to the cleaning and maintenance staff hence we did not pursue the matter. That said the worst part of Singapore was our hotel unfortunately.
