This hotel was lovely in so many ways! I injured myself whilst walking around Sintra and I couldn’t have been looked after better. Breakfast great, beds really comfortable, pillows good, bedding wonderfully unperfumed. Oh and the shower powerful and piping hot. Goes without saying that rooms and communal areas were clean and tidy The staff very professional ie knew their stuff but also friendly and kind.

Charming hidden treasure with old world charm. Comfortable room, well appointed. Full breakfast with delicious yogurt and fruit. Honesty bar - enjoyed wine poolside courtesy of the exceptional staff. Pool refreshing after long walks at the nearby castles

I don't want to write a bad review but I just wanted people to be aware that the good reviews are from people who stayed in rooms unaffected as there is a particular room in this establishment that is a health hazard which the management is fully aware off but too greedy to take it out of service since they are always fully booked and they won't see returning guests to a place like Sintra anyway. I made the booking two months in advance and as you can see from the room descriptions it’s either double or twin bed so I wrote to say we would like a double to which a copy and paste response came that it’s ‘subject to availability’. On arrival we were met with no enthusiasm told that room was not ready which was fine so we went to lunch after which another staff who seemed equally nonchalant showed us to our room at the entrance down some stairs to the right. She opened the door and I stepped in and started sneezing there was a dank musty mouldy smell to which she replied it was the Sinatra mountain. After looking round the property I realised that the other rooms were either facing the hills or the swimming pool and had sun whereas our room was semi below ground level looking at the car park and air conditioning units and their storage. People were walking by constantly and there were no net curtains for any privacy unless you closed the black out curtains or shutters so you had no natural light. I subsequently said to the lady that we had booked a Mountain View room to which reply came ‘subject to availability’ and we are fully booked till…why can’t they block off the room that you actually paid for (they take payment in advance) or have accurate descriptions perhaps people might even pay more for the view? That night I had an asthma attack and my husband developed a cough on inspection there was rising damp from the walls. Next morning I had a look around other rooms that were being turned over and they didn’t have the same problem. Other things that made our stay unpleasant unlike the rest of our experience in Portugal was lady at breakfast slamming down the food at our table no smiles no greetings and we can hear her attacking the dish washer like she was having a bad day. I don’t blame her as the second morning I saw her making the beds and running down the stairs to serve at the table totally disgruntled. The Heating and AirCon functions were locked in the room (not the public areas) guess to save on electricity and the pool was not heated deliberately (again turned off she says) despite two previous hotels we stayed at already had theirs on. No kettle in the rooms just a nespresso machine in the common area with a note of 2euros per capsule. This just sums up their idea of hospitality. From the photos it’s very instagram place with a fancy Hidden Place group title but at best it’s totally soulless and at worst a real health hazard.

Best location for seeing Sintra. We were able to leave our rental car at the property and walk to town. This location is perfect for seeing Sintra. The rooms are very clean and beautiful. Soft towels, great amenities, help yourself bar in lobby, helpful staff and beautiful property make up the many reasons the hotel is ideal. I will definitely stay here agin if I am able to return to Sintra!

Su ubicación, aunque alejada del centro de Sintra, es preciosa Hotel con pocas habitaciones, todas ellas diferentes, muy bien decoradas y con buen mantenimiento, con detalles exquisitos. La atención del personal es impecable, más allá de lo esperable.
