Cold rooms, with no working heating, tea and coffee facilities (except a kettle, which made it challenging) and uncomfortable beds. Do not stay if you want a comfortable night's sleep, I woke up with the springs from the mattress imprinted on my head... I understand that you ”get what you pay for” but considering my experience, even the low price was overpriced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For our purposes, stag break, it was functional enough for us with a reasonable breakfast included and good drinks offers available.

This is a well placed traditional hotel.
It offers basic bedroom accommodation with ensuite.
Food and drink is offered by way of an independently run ”Bistro”.
We only had breakfast. The bar closed at 10pm (before we returned from the play so not available to us.
Breakfast was a disappoin**ent by modern European standards and also compared with the average b&b. The breakfast options were variations on a cooked breakfast with toast and the possibility of croissants or alternative french type breakfast patisserie.
Cereals were limited cornflakes or similar/
Coffee was served nicely and appeared to be (and was called ) Americano i.e. not quite strong enough for the espresso lover. There was no hot milk so coffee was essentially lukewarm and weak.
Muesli or fruit were absent.
The scrambled eggs were overcooked.
The staff were friendly and helpful but appeared overworked. Brexit and lack of alternative staff clearly taking its toll.
So many ways the breakfast experience could be improved.
All this is a pity because the location and the reasonably priced parking make for an ideal spot.

Le pub de la belle vue avec une belle rivière à l'opposé de l'hébergement était autour de l'arrière avec une porte séparée pour entrer qui avait un code clé où une clé pour entrer est stockée dans une boîte, ce qui nous a été expliqué comme le pub ferme tôt en raison de la faible saison. Nous sommes revenus à 11h30, nous avons mis le code dans la boîte et aucune clé n'était dans la boîte, nous avons alors dû appeler un numéro d'urgence et quelqu'un a dû nous voyager pour nous laisser en un peu inconvenant pour les deux parties Je suis juste content que je n'étais pas seul comme il est au milieu de nulle part Les chambres étaient très belles et propres, etc. Mais je pense qu'il devrait être très clair que les chambres partagent une salle de bains parce que je n'avais pas remarqué que et ne l'aurais pas réservé en sachant cela , l'apparence qu'elles ont est belle et dispose d'une grande chambre et de sa propre salle de bains. La bière était bonne Petit-déjeuner le matin prochain était bien non pas mal que les £25 pour 2 personnes quand vous obtenez un petit-déjeuner cuit avec du thé ou du café qui est juste qu'il vous a apporté aucune option de buffet ou de jus de céréales etc et certains d'entre eux étaient un peu froid Personnel étaient bien I soit rester encore comme à être honnête ce que nous avons payé n'était pas beaucoup mais je préférerais payer un peu plus et avoir mon propre salle de bain je recommande également juste avoir une porte codée non une clé dans une boîte comme je réunis ce problème se passera souvent

L'abbaye est un très beau hôtel, situé dans un bel environnement. Les chambres sont spacieuses et je dois dire que le lit est le plus confortable que j'ai dormi dans un hôtel et croyez-moi que j'ai séjourné dans de nombreux hôtels partout dans le monde.
Le personnel est accueillant, poli et professionnel. Ils sont très agréables.

Went to celebrate a 90th birthday Sunday lunch - lovely surroundings very much let down by the standard of the food! Miserly starter portions; over an hours wait for the main courses which was cold when they actually arrived; a whole chicken served on a platter to some of the party who had 2 infants to manage and were expected to carve it themselves (surely it should’ve been carved by a member of staff ??!!🤔); the beef was too rare for the main guest who’s 90th it was, and when she asked to have some more well done they expected just to recook the rare slices she was served; the smallest side portion of cauliflower cheese I’ve ever seen which came in yellow water and had to be sent back (at £4.50 extra which was a disgraceful cost for the small ramekin it was in !!😤); dry overcooked roast potatoes; after the fourth time of asking the extra broccoli finally arrived when most of our guests had nearly finished. Why on earth try to skimp on portions - it just aggravates guests who are paying good money for what they hope will be worth it and add to the whole enjoyable experience !! The serving staff were lovely, polite and apologetic but the attitude of the manager when the bill was, rightfully, disputed left a lot to be desired!! There are significantly better and numerous local venues for Sunday lunch !!

Il a eu un fabuleux séjour de deux nuits à The DoubleTree pendant que je travaille loin de chez moi. Le personnel est très aimable et ils ne pouvaient pas faire assez pour leurs clients Nous n'avons pas réalisé au moment de la réservation que le petit déjeuner était inclus, c'était un bonus supplémentaire, une grande sélection de nourriture chaude et froide. L'hôtel est dans une position parfaite, juste une courte promenade aux pubs, restaurants du centre-ville.

Nous sommes arrivés tôt et le gentleman agréable à la réception nous a permis de parker tôt et de vérifier. La chambre était propre, bien entretenue et bien équipée d'une suite humide. Le parc est petit, il est sur un premier venu, premier servi. Il y a une petite parade de boutiques sur la route qui est très utile. Un mot à la sage sur la place. Il est vrai qu'il est proche du château, mais cette marche est en collision, de sorte que vous soyez préparé. Il y a cependant un peu de cafés, boutiques, etc le long de la route. La dame qui nous a vérifiés était très utile et a eu un très agréable démo.
