Thunderbird Resort Club

Very disappointing. There were concerns regarding cleanliness, condition of units, and safety. The only contact we had was with someone somewhere behind a TV screen or via a phone.

If you are simply looking for a warm bed and place to land outside the city, this location is suitable. However, if this is your one vacation a year and you want to enjoy your resort, you may be disappointed. Rooms are older, amenities are minimal, and location is quiet but questionable.

Horrible location, horrible everything. 1970’s decor. Fear for our safety (everyone was scared, even the check in is virtual due to the conditions). Dump trailer full of who knows what parked right outside our room. Do not recommend at all!! I could go on and on, but main thing is RCI should be ashamed to have this as a listing.

Did not like having front desk over the phone, didn’t and couldn’t find our reservation, the complex next to use had been on fire and burnt, staying at someone’s apar**ent in a low income neighborhood! Trailer park homes across the street, didn’t feel safe for kids and family

Very clean and quiet 2 bedroom condo. We stayed for a week and absolutely loved it. The pool was closed, but still had fun with our grandkids. We will definitely choose Thunderbird Resort on our next vacation to Sparks.

One morning, a maintenance guy who knew no English came through our door without our request, was turned away, and then tried to come through a second time. We had no midweek cleaning and had to ask for more coffee filters and towels (which we did get almost at the end of our stay). The Wi-Fi constantly drops in the middle of surfing or gaming and made gaming impossible. Not thrilled with stairs, but we coped. We did get the heat adjusted so it wasn't chilly downstairs and sweltering upstairs. The check in was virtual but went ok. The beds were much nicer than ten years ago.

Large well-appointed condo. Pool, hot tub, and main laundry room still shut down from a fire THREE YEARS AGO. We learned these amenities were closed well before checkin and chose to stay anyway, but still, three years?! Tough to get an open washing machine or dryer in secondary laundry room. Condo reasonably clean but certain things (cobwebs on lamp shades, baseboards, corners if floors, etc., seem to have been skipped over many times). From master bedroom, could hear neighbors (every word) if they were on their patio, and certainly the grounds crews every morning. Easy access to bus stop and easy bus ride to downtown Reno if you don't have a car. Quick walk to Sparks Marina as well as to multiple restaurants and stores. Walmart delivers to resort. We would stay again if wanting to be in Sparks, but do be aware that everything that would make this a "resort" is closed down... for now, it's a condo rental in Sparks.

We have stayed here twice now and we have noticed that they have made lots of improvements since last time. We liked the kitchen because it has a large refrigerator and microwave and a stove with an oven and a dishwasher. It has durable Corelle dishes and a variety of glasses and pots and pans and cooking utensils. Everything we needed. The sitting area is small but has a good size TV and has one comfortable large chair and ottoman. The couch needs to be replaced because it is old and when you sit on it the cushions sink away down. It has nice wood floors all over except for new looking pretty tile in the bathroom. The bathroom has handles to help getting in and out of the tub and a nice shower and it is clean. The cabinets under the sinks in the bathroom and kitchen need to be painted or replaced. Some of them are warped and stained. The bedroom is spacious and the queen size bed is comfortable as are the pillows. There is a small patio just off the bedroom . It could use painting due to the weather here especially this year with so much snow and rain. It is a bit noisy out there at times because Hwy 80 is nearby. Inside is quiet and peaceful away from all the hustle and bustle of Reno. It has a good heater which is great when it is cold and snowy outside. There is no elevator and we were on the second floor. The parking is free and so is the washer and dryer which is located next to a nice little community room that has games to play. There is a lovely lake nearby that is very pretty and has lots of birds to watch too. It is about 3 miles round trip from here in a nice safe neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again.

When we got to the room, which we were delayed by one day do to weather they did not have a room ready for us. The rooms are two story and therefore handicap people do not have access to the bedrooms or bathroom. Pool and hot tub were still not repaired from a fire some time ago. Permanent residents live on the premises so they are not very accommodating to timeshare owners. Would never go back there
