Même si l’hôtel est beau et la restauration excellente, le spa s’est avéré très décevant : 5 transats en tout au bord de la piscine, et l’unique douche du sauna en panne… le hammam quant à lui fonctionnait de manière aléatoire. Par ailleurs, une boite de mouchoirs et un gel douche vides dans la salle de bain de la chambre.

The room with view over the Rhine met our expectations. The wellness center was disappointing. The steam bath had no steam, the pool was very dirty around the edges, the floor was slippery, and there was only one changing cabin for all visitors. The drinks menu in the restaurant had a considerable choice of wine, but minimalist non-alcoholic drinks. At breakfast, the jams were infested with drosophila.

Our favourite hotel on our 3 week trip staying at 10 different hotels. It was a nice break close to the middle of our trip. The spa services with a pool, steam room, and two saunas, as well as massage services allowed us to unwind. We were greeted very warmly by the front staff and given a tour while we were waiting for our room to be ready. The two restaurants were very nice. The included breakfast was great and the room was perfect. We stayed in the Deluxe room with a Rhine view. This put us in the back building. The back building also has their own front desk. The room was quite large and had nice decor. We wish we stayed here longer. The castle ruins are not included by only cost 6 euro to enter. Our only difficulty is the shuttle from the hotel down to Sainkt Goar does not operate everyday, only weekends during the fall and winter months. Not hard to walk, but does suck for luggage. There are taxi services though.

The facade and location are beautiful. The spa is very nice. However, the rooms are poorly lit and ventilated. There is a smell that is a cross of humidity and cleaning liquids. The bathroom is a slippery trap. The restaurant is average and overpriced.

I can with certainty say that I would not recommend this hotel at all. The view is good, that’s about it. It seemed the weren’t too happy with children at this location too. The service is abysmal, we had to call several times for an extra bed and by checkout they charged us 40 euros extra for it. Nowhere else on our vacation has the hotel done this. No room at the restaurant, even though it didn’t seem that so many people were staying here. Checkout is at 11 o’clock, but at 1020 they started cleaning the room so the family couldn’t get in and use the bathroom after breakfast. Please, stay any where else than here, there are so many nice places in the vicinity. Boppard, for example, we think is a nicer town. But if you stay in St. Goar, stay somewhere else than here.

Arrived by bicycle, which is a bit of a challenge as the approach road is 1km at 17%. However that's where castles were built and gives the location fantastic views. Warm welcome and we were able to get into our very nice room with balcony at 3pm which was nice. It was very warm, ca 35C, so a bit disappointing that there was no aircon, but were able to open the door to balcony and room did cool down slowly. Everything else was of best quality and spotlessly clean. Only downside for me was absence of black out curtains/blinds / shutters, it's a personal thing as I'm a light sleeper. Pool was very nice as were drinks on the terrace, had an excellent meal in the main restaurant, again with fabulous views of the Rhein and Sankt Goar. Breakfast was a fabulous spread. Not cheap but a high standard hotel with great staff. Had a problem with the bill, partly my fault, partly the Hotels, however a few emails meant everything was suitably and courteously sorted.

It's really hard to fault this hotel. It is in a castle - yes, an actual castle! - overlooking the Rhine and the views are spectacular. The hotel has been very tastefully renovated and there is a free swimming pool, steam room and sauna. The breakfast buffet is incredible with multiple types of bread, meats, cheeses, muesli, fruit, fish, pate, hard and soft boiled eggs... in fact, pretty much anything you can think of! My only slight complaint is that the food in the evening wasn't very German but it is a very small complaint

This “Schlosshotel” is built on the ruïne of an old castle. Just opposite the Loreley. Friendly reception. Nice room in the villa with balcony and lovely view on the Rhine. The menu of the demi pension is disappointing, the staff tried to compensate by offering after-dinner drinks. Breakfast ok. A pity that they failed with dinner.
