The Ocean House

1. First impression: when you arrive, they run your very heavy suitcase up the stairs without asking! Wow! 2. Fantastic location. 3. Rundown rooms, but clean. 4. Bad, cheap breakfast. When you order hardboiled eggs, they bring just 1 egg, and 1 piece of toast. The fruit is the kind that is shipped to them in a container. For $.50 more food, they could deliver $50 more value. And since that's the last touchpoint in your hotel stay, you walk away with a bad impression.

We had fun staying at the ocean house in spring when evenings on the porch are really special and you get a great breeze with the room windows open. Breakfast was delish and the fridges out by the back door held all our delicacies from tom bailey's deli for when we were too lazy to walk to the pizzeria in town for their great italian food. riding the bikes that are provided was my favorite part with beautiful walks in any direction too. and of course the beach- gorgeous! staff and our hosts were superb. and spring lake is full of redwing blackbirds and swallows this time of year, i like that. plus there's a great bookstore in town along with all the other cool shops.

A wonderful inn for a stay by the sea!! We are repeat customers and enjoy our stay each time. The innkeepers and the staff are very friendly and helpful and take great care of their guests. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable. Breakfast is always delicious. It’s a very easy walk to the boardwalk and beach as well as a stroll into the town. The beautiful wrap around porch is a relaxing spot for breakfast in warmer months or hanging out with family and friends as well as with a book or a board game. We are looking forward to returning in 2024!!

My husband & I have been coming here for years. Great B & B. All the staff are sweet, breakfasts are really good, accommodations are very nice. Perfect location Close to town& ice cream. What can be better?

What a delightful experience! Charming, low key and just a very short walk to a lovely beach. Breakfast was beautifully prepared and delicious. Will admit that climbing up to the third floor might not work for everyone, so choose your room with that in mind. Will absolutely return.

It was super clean, very welcoming and really overall wonderful getaway. The staff was attentive BEFORE, DURING and even AFTER our stay. I highly recommend this establishment for a wonderful, relaxing time!!!

Had a very relaxing overnight stay in this tastefully decorated and well maintained B&B that has very nice and accommodating staff.Room was very clean with comfortable beds, small but definitely cozy.Stayed in room #23 but next time, when stay longer than overnight, will try #25(has a closet).There is wraparound porch that creates great relaxation spot where you can also have your meal.Excellent location, very short walk to the beach, picturesque lake and gorgeous downtown. Loved the front porch, comfortable, relaxing. Great clean location close to the beautiful boardwalk & beach. Although reservation was made a month before, our room location was the third floor annex. For the price, small room, expensive, disappointed. Yes we were aware of no elevator however I said we were in our 70’s and both had knee issues. We commented also when shown our room, so nothing on the second floor? Steep and narrow stairs! Very noisy window air conditioner, no nightlight in bathroom. Friendly staff.

The rooms are charming, and well appointed, the breakfasts are delicious, and everyone here couldn't be more friendly! Add to that, a quick walk takes you to the heart of town where there is great shopping, and lots of dining options. We will definitely return!
