My favourite hostel in China so far! Located in a beautiful, quiet village with the tea forest right behind, the hostel was so welcoming and cozy. The owner was very friendly, helping me buy tickets, inviting me for drinks, snacks, even taking me and some of the other girls out for a village dance. There was a wonderful feeling of community and female companionship, if I ever return to Jingmaishan, I'll be sure to come here!

La propriété dispose d'un belvédère sur le toit, ce qui nous a permis de nous réunir pour profiter de la vue. Le fait que notre taxi ait pu traverser la route étroite du village de Mengben et nous déposer, nous et nos bagages, devant la porte de la maison d'hôtes a été un atout. Contrairement aux villages de Wengji et Nuogang, où les voitures ne sont pas autorisées à entrer, mais déposent les visiteurs sur le parking. L'hospitalité de la propriétaire/hôtesse était remarquable. Elle avait une table à thé Pu'er et nous a préparé d'innombrables tasses de thés différents, tous cultivés dans sa ferme, en nous expliquant leurs différences et leurs vertus. Elle ne nous a rien demandé pour l'expérience. Elle n'a pas non plus cherché à nous vendre des feuilles de thé, même si nous en avons acheté une petite quantité car nous avons apprécié le thé. C'est une excellente cuisinière et elle nous a concocté le petit-déjeuner et le déjeuner.

The hotel is located right in the center of the village. Pros: the room was spacious, with large beds and plenty of space in the bathroom. All essential amenities were provided. There was air conditioning, which was a big plus given the heat. The reception staff were very helpful — they helped us organize a transfer for only 400 yuan. Cons: the view from the room was not great, which is a pity. However, the balcony was very cozy and had a tea table with everything needed for a tea ceremony. It’s just unfortunate that the tea produced at the hotel itself was not provided in the room. It’s also important to know Chinese or have a good translator. Otherwise, no major downsides.

호텔이 메인 광장 바로 뒤에 위치해 있어 주변 관광이나 이동이 매우 편리했습니다. 저녁까지는 약간의 소음이 있었지만, 밤에는 조용해 숙면에 방해되지 않았습니다. 객실은 전반적으로 깔끔하고 관리가 잘 되어 있었으며, 베란다가 있긴 하지만 다소 좁은 편이었습니다. 다만 1층 엘리베이터 앞에 계단이 있어 거동이 불편한 어르신이 이용하기에는 불편할 수 있습니다. 복도와 공용공간의 관리 상태는 다소 아쉬웠지만, 객실 내부는 청결하고 쾌적했습니다. 조식은 제공되지 않으나 주변에 식당과 카페가 많아 크게 불편하지 않았습니다. 외국인 여행객은 전기 전환기가 필요하니 미리 준비하는 것이 좋습니다. 전반적으로 서비스는 단순하지만, 위치와 객실의 청결도는 매우 만족스러웠습니다. The hotel is located right behind the main square, which makes it very convenient for sightseeing and getting around. There was some noise in the evening, but it became quiet at night and did not disturb our sleep. The room was clean and well-maintained, and although the balcony was quite small, it was nice to have one. However, there are stairs in front of the first-floor elevator, which can be inconvenient for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. The condition of the hallway and common areas was not impressive, but the room itself was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is not provided, but there are many restaurants and cafés nearby. Foreign guests should note that a power adapter is needed. Overall, the service is simple, but the location and cleanliness made our stay very satisfying.

Il est très facile de se déplacer. Le café Beigui, idéal pour admirer le lever du soleil, est à seulement 10 minutes à pied. La terrasse sur le toit offre une vue panoramique imprenable sur un magnifique paysage. La propriétaire prépare chaque jour des nouilles de riz avec un bouillon qu'elle a cuisiné la veille ; un vrai délice !

Originally, i booked only 1 night, with the intention of going onwards to Laos the next day. But i stayed a 2nd night because the room was spacious and the view out of the window was so restful. About the room, I like it that there is a desk i could work from. And that the shower and WC areas are divided by a screen. For the 2nd day, my room was refreshed with used toiletries replenished and towels changed. I wish the guesthouse would implement a system where guests are able to indicate if they wish to use the same towels. I am pro-environment, so if i don't change my towels everyday at home, i don't see the need to do so when i am away. I also like the location as it was easy for me to catch Bus Route 3 to a nearby shopping area (i had KFC breakfast there), cross the road to take Bus Route 8 to Meizi Lake Park. I spent about 3 hours there, including enjoying coffee and cake in the cafe near the entrance to the park. (My biggest regard was i did not get to drink even 1 cup of Pu'er tea while in Pu'er :)) After that I back tracked on Bus Route 8 to change to Bus Route 3 to visit the Tea Horse Ancient City. Then after, I took Bus Route 3 to the shopping centre, had dinner and shopped at Walmart, before catching Bus Route 3 back to the guesthouse. There is a walking/running track just across the road from the guesthouse. Forget about going the full length of the track. Once you see a slope on the right side, walk up there. You will get a nice viewpoint and there is a nice cafe there. If the weather is right, you get to see sunrise too! I went in the morning, the cafe was closed, so did not patronise the place. Had I known about this cafe, i would have gone there on the 1st day. Perhaps the guesthouse operator could do up a map with information of easily assessible places of interest. This could result in longer stays for free and easy travellers. Pu'er is a well planned town/city. I like it and will recommend others to spend some time there. Most importantly, do stay at this guesthouse. The surrounding tea plantations will recharge you!

La chambre est très confortable et très confortable. Les propriétaires sont les plus gentils, ils ne peuvent pas parler anglais mais m'ont fait sentir à la maison, m'ont aidé à planifier mon séjour à Pu'er et même organisé un transfert à la montagne Jingmai. Je recommande vivement cet endroit et je resterais là si je reviens à Pu'er.

Foreign friends: don't stay here. The worst experience I've ever had trying to check in - and I've travelled to many remote places in Yunnan over the past six years. Staff has no clue about rules and regulations, even though I showed them the most up to date rules for foreigners travelling in China. They tried to stop me from leaving the hotel because they couldn't figure out how to check me in, even though I was very hungry and tired and wanted to eat and go to bed early. They came to my room at 10pm but still couldn't figure out how to check me in. And here is the worst: at 8am the manager opened the door of my room and walked in without knocking. There was no inside lock or chain. Luckily I wasn't in the shower. Awful place that made me feel extremely unwelcome as a foreigner. They made me feel like a criminal because of their incompetence and stupid actions. Very different from most places where staff is helpful even if it's a bit more complicated.

L'hygiène générale était acceptable. Je me suis réveillé avec un gros rat dans la cour le lendemain matin, mais c'est sans doute inévitable en montagne ; tenez-en compte. La chambre était à côté de la cuisine. Pensez à préciser « éviter » les chambres 101 et 102 lors de la réservation, car on y prépare les légumes dès 7 h du matin, ce qui rend le sommeil impossible. De même, si quelqu'un se lève à l'étage, vous ne pourrez pas dormir non plus ; les bouchons d'oreilles étaient inefficaces. L'insonorisation était déplorable, j'ai donc changé d'hébergement le lendemain. Le propriétaire a été très arrangeant et a annulé ma réservation rapidement. La plateforme d'observation était joliment décorée et offrait une belle vue sur le coucher du soleil, mais personnellement, je ne la recommanderais pas.

Erg lieve familie! We werden meteen uitgenodigd voor thee, en ik heb zelfs zelfgemaakte dragonfruitwijn gedronken. Ontbijt en avondeten zijn heerlijk, goed klaargemaakt én wij vonden het ook nog eens goedkoop. Ze zijn bijna altijd in de buurt om te helpen, maar hebben tegelijk duidelijk hun eigen bezigheden — fijne balans. De accommodatie voelt een beetje als een kleine boerderij: er zijn meerdere dieren aanwezig. Ook zij en de buren hebben superlieve, aanhankelijke hondjes en een kat. Ze stoeien en spelen de hele dag met elkaar en komen graag bij je kijken. Ik werd echt verliefd op de pup van de buren. Qua prijs is deze plek, vergeleken met andere accommodaties in de omgeving, echt goedkoop. De kamer is prima: niet heel groot, maar groot genoeg (en je bent toch meestal buiten). Het bed is hard, wat wij juist fijn vonden. Het toilet is een squattoilet en er is heet water. Het gezamenlijke terras is een hoogtepunt: een prachtig uitzicht over de bergen en de vallei, en je kijkt uit op de “sea of clouds” — magisch, vooral in de ochtend. Wij hadden geen auto, maar konden hier een scooter huren voor 50 yuan per dag. Dat was zó leuk en maakte ons verblijf beter dan we hadden kunnen dromen: we hebben met z’n tweeën het hele gebied verkend. De bus stopt op ongeveer 1 km afstand, en voor de terugweg naar Pu’er hebben ze ons geholpen met een shared ride. Het is echt een warme familie die met je meedenkt over je reis en die altijd wil helpen. Als we terugkomen, zouden we weer hierheen gaan. Dankjulliewel! Ps: vlakbij de accommodatie is ook een gezin dat zelfgemaakte theesets verkoopt met speciale klei. Een aanrader!
