It gets pretty cold and windy in the winter, so your pooch may need a coat for night time walks.Wintergreen is a four-season resort offering ziplining, Winter skiing and tubing, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, private pools, two golf courses (one at the top and bottom of the mountain), miles of hiking trails and Lake Monocan, a 20-acre lake and park is located at Stoney Creek. Lake Monocan is open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. During the ski season a shuttle with pick you up just outside and take you to the main lodge and ski slopes. Wintergreen’s more than 30 miles of marked hiking trails are developed and maintained by The Nature Foundation at Wintergreen which offers guided hikes every Saturday and Wednesday in summer. The entrance into Wintergreen is located just 1 mile to the Blue Ridge Parkway which has the areas most scenic drive as well and loads of hiking trails and overlooks. Shenandoah Ridge is located just above Devils Knob Golf Course and a 2 minute walk up our private road will lead you to a High Country Park which has a viewing platform with picnic tables, gazebo and a fenced in dog area. There are two more bedrooms that share a full bath; a queen-sized bed in one room and a twin/trundle bed in the other. The second floor has the kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry and half-bath. There is a great overview just steps away from the house where sunsets are absolutely amazing!! We have bean bags and a bocce ball set at the house!Our home is in the Shenandoah Ridge neighborhood. Renters have access to Stoney Creek golf course and Rodes Farm Pool, both of which are in the Valley, and Chestnut Springs Pool, a heated pool which is on the mountain. Wintergreen Spa is within walking distance of the house and offers amazing spa treatments. Due to a policy of Wintergreen resort, unaccompanied guests (renters) are not allowed access to the gym, indoor pools or Devils Knob golf course. You will have access to the tennis courts and paddle ball courts; court fees apply. The area boasts a TON of great breweries, wineries and restaurants. THE DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOMThe second bedroom is downstairs and comes with two twin beds, a big dresser, and a closet. Inside the closet, you’ll find extra linens for the sofa bed, plus an ironing board and iron. This room also has a TV with Roku, so you can stream your favorite apps or watch Netflix, which is provided. The blackout curtains will help you hibernate like the local black bears, and we’ve got a sound machine and fan in here too, for extra comfort. ENTRYWAYAs you enter our condo, you’ll find a wall rack to hang your lighter coats and purses, as well as hangers inside a coat closet for your bulkier items. Additionally, there are two boot trays for your shoes. On a small shelf in the coat closet you’ll find a few basic cleaning supplies in case you need them during your stay. SKI LOCKERRight outside the front door, you’ll find a handy ski locker – ideal for keeping your outdoor gear secure. In winter, it’s perfect for storing skis, boards, boots, and poles. In the summer, it’s great for fishing gear, golf clubs, and kids’ bikes. The ski locker is locked, and a code will be provided for you to use during your stay. PARKINGOur condo includes two unassigned parking spots for your convenience. During the winter months, you’ll need a gate code to access the condo and parking area, and we’ll make sure to send that to you before your stay. Additional parking can be found in the lots near the Mountain Inn. Keep in mind that these will require an uphill walk in order to reach The Retreat at Three Ridges.
