Wonderful Food, we ordered the Steak Cod, BLT all which tasted delicious The Pub and Rooms are child and doggy Friendly. Lovely wood fire and happy staff serving a range of Would go again for sure 5*****

Booked last minute on OpenTable for Sunday lunch, used to visit regularly 5+ years ago and the Sunday dinners were great. However was disappointed on our return due to lack of value for money. The waiter was very polite and said that the roast dinner included "roast potatoes, veg, cauliflower cheese, the works" (waiter's words) so was hopeful for a decent portion. I don't mind spending £22.50 on a roast dinner but the portion was incredibly small! The food was OK, but there was hardly any of it. One small carrot, one piece of cauliflower etc. Small Yorkshire pudding. Seemed to be very little of everything. Also (as a small note) we ordered bread to share to start, however there were 3 pieces of bread. Obviously that's fine, but it makes much more sense to offer either 2 or 4 pieces as most people will order to share. Wouldn't return as there are many places charging less with the same if not better quality and reasonable portion sizes. We left feeling slightly conned to be honest, couldn't believe the price considering how small the portion was. We love going out for a treat dinner every Sunday and have tried 20 or more restaurants in North Norfolk including other upmarket places along the coast and I can't think of one charging this much for so little food.

Sunday roast - top-notch. Visited without a reservation and with a dog. Staff really welcoming .. helpfully gave us a small side room for the rather large dog - treats for him and a sharing roast chicken platter for us followed by sticky toffee pud. Portions generous and food hot and nicely presented. We left full and happy.

Enjoyable but disappointing in some areas. Great location for Peddlars Way walking, pub friendly and quaint and food was expensive but fabulous. Staff friendly. Stayed for 2 nights and hardly slept. Room definitely was not like the photo on the website. Stained cushion on the bed, sink not cleaned properly, shower door didn’t shut completely, bathroom door pops open, the blinds to the front door and window broken so affecting privacy and you could hear every step and noise from the rooms around you. Mattress was worn and so terribly uncomfortable. Breakfast was extremely tasty however on our second morning we waited 45 minutes for breakfast and toast and after 50 minutes and 4 times of asking the coffee arrived. For the cost of the room plus £15 for our dog (not quite sure why as no bowls, treats provided) we wouldn’t visit again.

Brilliant meals and service from all staff. They could not do enough for us and they accommodated our two dogs. We are on four occasions and the food was great!! The menu changes daily and the chef does specials. We joined our friends for breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed it.Nothing was too much trouble. We booked a room for Sunday and we will return.

We stayed for 2 nights in August. We had a beautiful room with an enclosed balcony. This was originally a couples mini break but due to an unexpected change our two dogs joined us. The Red Lion could not had been more accommodating and even helped arranged a sitter for us one evening. The rooms were spotless and had everything you could need. The breakfast was delicious. We will be back.

Just had the Walsingham beef. When it came out I was a bit disappointed but wow! It was cooked to perfection, succulent and two different types of beef. It only came with chips and a large mushroom but that was enough. A must visit if you are in the area.

Had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at the Red Lion Stiffkey. Room upstairs had lovely views but needed a bit of attention i.e not all lights worked, toilet seat loose needed fixing, quilt broken open and stuffing coming out when I *****ped the bed. Mugs very badly stained. I am afraid the pub has gone over to being gastro hence not a lot on the menu and quite expensive for what you got. Eat in there the first night but wasn't impressed, spoke to other people and some felt the same. This used to be a good country pub, still is but shame about the not doing good plain country food like it has previously. I hope this upmarket change won't drive customers away but I fear for their future if it doesn't change.

Having walked from Wells along the coastal path we came across the Red Lion at Stiffkey. A lovely pub with very helpful staff and a good menu. Unfortunately we didn't eat there but had we been in the area for longer would have returned to do so. Good selection of drinks and a nice rear yard/area to sit outside in the sun.
