Stone Hut Cottage

The Stone Hutt cabins tucked away behind the Stone Hutt Bakery were a real pleasant surprise, I could not have been happier! As I was just travelling through they more than met my needs. They were very clean, quite roomy although the addition of say a queen size bed would have been good but certainly not necessary. The service was outstanding with nice country folk going out of their way to ensure that my experience was good, which it certainly was. The food from the bakery exceeded my expectations and was of a very high standard. The bottle of wine on the table when I entered the cabin was also an unexpected, but a nice treat!

Yes the pies are pretty good. A lot of flavours to choose from, which is good. The chicken and Camembert one was really good whereas the meat in the kangaroo and red wine pie was overdone and cooked in overbearing herbs. The sausage roll was overcooked - extremely dry and burnt. Service was very gruff!! A smile might have made the difference, maybe.

Cute cottages in bushy gardens with bakery attached. Clean, well supplied kitchenette. Comfortable bed - we were in cottage 5 but they are all discreet. Checked in to avoid cold front during camping trip. Warm!

I was pleasantly surprised by my modern studio "hut". Stone Hut is a very small stop on the road between Quorn and Clare and perfect for a quiet night and excellent sleep. The bathroom was very good too. I did the historic town walk whilst there and also enjoyed a meal at the bakery.

Stone hut is a great base to stay so you can go adventuring further out. You are close the Flinders Rangers and so many other country towns. The bakery's are amazing. The folks are very friendly. Stone hut cottages are comfortable and have everything you need. I would take your own pillow as I found them a bit hard for myself. The shower is amazing!!! Bed is very comfortable

We booked a room at the last minute and were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the room was large, well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable with a nice outdoor area. It was private and quiet and the take away supper we bought of quiche and salad was tasty and generous in size. This was a definite win and a happy experience.

Searching for a unique bakery we found the Old Bakery Stone Hut on line. So on our way back from Quorn on our way to Adelaide we stopped to try one of their famous wild boar pies. Sadly they didn't have any of that particular pie that day but they did have a number of others to choose from. I then decided that it was about time that I tried Kangaroo so I went for it and had a Kangaroo and red wine pie. My wife had a ******* and stout pie which I also sampled. We each had a coffee since we were going to be on the road for still a few hours. Suffice to say everything was excellent and we will be returning the next time we are in the area.

This place is an absolute gem. We were looking for an overnight stay on the way home from the Flinders Ranges, but just had to stay for two. Accommodation had everything we wanted an much more. A complimentary bottle of wine, fluffy bath robes and a small kitchen area. Everything was clean and fresh, the hosts perfect and the best bit - the owners also run the bakery next door. What a bakery. When planning your stay, take into account the number of different pies you want to savour.. There is also a giant aviary with a variety of native parrots galahs and cockatoos, and a petting zoo with friendly (and hungry) goats, llamas (alpacas??) and emus. This place was certainly one of the highlights of our trip. Will be back.

Our cottage was number 5. Easy ramp access and furthest from the main road (although there was not much traffic at night). Large comfortable queen bed with a double sofa bed. Small kitchenette with plenty of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. Tea, coffee and milk supplied. Added extras were the walk-in aviary and animal enclosures situated nearby.
